Lovely character Maltese town house in a delightful, pedestrian street. Rabat has some great sights like St Agathas Catacombs and is very close (5-10 minute walk) to Mdina which is a really unspoiled and spectacular walled city. Local buses are good for getting around and we also hired bikes. House is beautifully restored. We were there in April and the weather was mixed, so warm clothing also needed. I imagine the houses thick stone walls come into their own in the summer. However the blankets and heaters provided made it very comfortable when it did get cold during our stay.
Beds fine but firm-ish. Church bells nearby but, apart from Easter Sunday, these didnt disturb us and Im a light sleeper. Otherwise totally quiet. Overall, a very memorable holiday and a house and location to recommend.

We we had a wonderful stay in Malta, and we’ll definitely come back one day as we already miss Casa Melita. We loved the house in Rabat as it was even more than what we expected. Thanks to Reno for all the help with the car etc.

Casa Melita is a lovely property in the heart of Rabat, little shops close by and good restaurants are in walking distance.
The house itself is fantastic, plenty of room and facilities are sufficient.
The only thing is that the house wasn`t very clean, but that`s the only bad comment.
Owner reply:
Hi Suzanne, thanks for your review and your very positive comments. Quite unfortunate that apparently the house cleanliness was not up to our usual standards. It is always my policy to check the house before guest arrivals to ensure that all is up standard. Unfortunately missed this one due to my being hospitalized on the day. But thanks to your comments, I had a word with the cleaners to ensure that this does not happen again. Regards. Reno

The villa was well situated within a 10 minute walk of Mdina, but we found lots to see close by in Rabat as well. There is a great bakery round the corner and lots of small shops to buy other supplies within a few minutes walk. The villa itself is well laid out with good quality fittings and furnishings, but as we were visiting in February, we couldnt take advantage of the barbeque or roof terrace as the weather wasnt great. Its one of those properties that I would like to revisit in better weather to get the most out of it. We were very grateful for heaters and extra blankets which were definitely required and much appreciated Renos help and assistance both before and upon our arrival.

Very nice place to be. Old house tastefully renovated. The house deserves better pictures! Perfect for a family with up to 4 kids.
Out of the tourist zones but 5 minutes walk to Mdina old town.
Very central in Malta, every point of the island is to be reached within in 20 to 30 minutes.

The house is is a quiet pedestrian alleyway in the centre of Rabat and within easy walking distance of Mdina, which has stunning views over the surrounding countryside. The local bus services are good so a car is not absolutely necessary although to get to most places you normally have to go to Valetta first. Breakfast and dinner can be taken round the table in the courtyard - if you are in for lunch, it might be cooler to stay inside! There were very few other tourists actually staying there although many come for the day to enjoy wandering round the picturesque streets or going round the area on the little train or by horse and carriage. There are some good local restaurants and several local stores if you prefer self-catering. This is a beautiful location as a base to discover Malta and well away from the tourist trap areas.

A previous renter had said that the pictures did not do it justice, and he was correct. The villa was so nice. It was clean, well maintained, cozy and quiet. The villa is centrally located within Rabat making it very convenient (everything is just around the corner)You are a 5 min walk to the bus terminal and maybe a 10 min walk to Mdina. We had a great time and it was so nice to come to this charming villa every night.
Thank you Reno for a job well-done.

Our family loved staying in this old townhome. Loads of character. Website didnt do justice to the great location. Located on a winding old street with no traffic and easy walk to Mdina. A couple of great restaurants nearby that were very child-friendly (Cosmana Navarra highly recommended). Nothing on the island was more than 30 mins away. The owner was extremely helpful, met us at airport and even took us to the supermarket and we appreciated the heaters he provided for the chilly evenings.
