Everything was as Phil described it. Nice neat layout, ideal for one or two guests. Big bed and cosy little balcony, ideal for breakfast in the sun. Balcony in shade after midday. The kitchen area is along one wall and is compact but adequate, even for my long stay. When all is said and done, how much cooking are you likely to be doing in the apartment? The sofa converts to a bed, cannot comment on it as it wasnt used on this visit. The flat screen television is rather small but, again adequate with just CNN and a film channel to choose from in English. For football fans, a Portuguese channel is an option but do not expect much beyond Portuguese matches! The pool area is lovely, but get your loungers early during busy weeks or you may end up on the beach. Plenty of bars and eating places to choose from, whether your taste is upmarket or down. I recommend Tam Tam for lunch and a drink. The carrot cake is highly recommended!

When we arrived at Porto Antigo 2 we were greeted by a lovely pool surrounded by pretty gardens with a wonderful sea view straight in front of us. The studio had everything needed to make our stay comfortable, although as there are several good cafes/bars/restaurants within a short walking distance we did not make full use of the kitchen. We would reccommend this holiday studio for those wanting a completely relaxed holiday in a beautiful environment.

We spent a wonderful week at the property in November 2010 when the weather (as always apparently) was gorgeous. The setting was ideal having a balcony overlooking the pool and gardens with the golden sandy beach and bright blue sea just beyond. It was great to sit out and relax on the balcony enjoying the lovely Sal climate especially in the evenings after sampling the food in the local restaurants of which there were plenty very close by.
The fish in these restaurants is highly recommended as it is caught and landed daily at the pier just along the beach before being barrowed by the locals to the awaiting chefs. It simply could not be fresher than that and we were never disappointed.
A bakery and a small but well stocked supermarket were very close by so self catering for breakfast was no problem although full English was also available in small restaurants a few streets away if required.
We would certainly highly recommend this property to others and most definitely would return whenever possible as we enjoyed it so much!

Visited Sal, Cape Verde in May and stayed at Porto Antigo 2 apartments.
The apartment was very well equipped with a balcony overlooking the pool area, which leads onto the beach, Ideal for couples or families.
Brilliant location right on the beach front, and near all local amenities, i.e shops, banks and places to eat.
Sal has a fantastic relaxed way of life with the moto “no stress”.
Would recommend a tour of the island where you get to see the blue eye, the salt mines and visit a few ports.
Another great trip is a catamaran where we spotted whales and turtles!!
A great place to eat is the turtle shack, great food, great atmosphere and entertainment.
The turtle shack also have their own information centre where you can book day trips.
Cape Verde is definitely a holiday where you never want to come home!
