Nature Trails:
Hiking over the hill is not too strenuous. Many peaks are easily climbed
For the adventurous, hike/walk from FourSeasons through the forest to Popova Hill There, you will be amazed with the beautiful views of Poland Germany and Czech Republic
Drive/Hike/walk to Hochwald 4km in Germany you will be rewarded with 35mile views of Saxony, Germany and south west Poland.
Looking south are views of the many hill ranges in North Bohemia and on into the Czech Republic
An adventurous trip can be arranged to the spa town Oybin in Germany 3 miles
The phenomenal ‘Sharpstone’ (red sandstone) like a person head 30 m high, should never be missed
Unusual unique magma, basalt and sandstone formations are to be seen there. What nature and history has endowed provide a spell of interest at various locations around the local area
The low cost car hire is provided for touring North Bohemia’s historic and cultural countryside
Malevil ‘Ranch’ 18 hole golfing, a rare zoo is there, Tenpin bowling, Rope, wall sandstone pillar climbing, or hours of horse trekking

The Surrounds of the Area
The village place Petrovice first mentioned 1391 is situated in the Lusation Hills.
The original Czech name Podhorská, “dwelling at the foot of the hills” is an exact description. The ‘lay of the land’ shows just that!
Topographically, hills slope away south, on an undulating landscape of meadows in the forest gaps
At the foot of the Lusation hills is a relaxed atmosphere, a landscape to be enjoyed in every season

Stroll in local villages or go a rambling walk You will most likely see roe deer, though shy, they run freely
Wild Boar are shy and retiring animals. You will be lucky to see them during the day. These ferocious creatures have long since learned to stay out of harms way If you’re keen to see them, late evenings is when they go rambling
Winter, especially brings wild life out of the forest, foraging Springtime’s fruit blossoms abound
The Summer’s landscape gives a sense of open freedom
Autumns enchanted foliage and leaves, and a Winter’s, snowy wonderland
Regional Area
FourSeasons, at Petrovice Village in North Bohemia is part the Lusatian Hills that straddle the borders of Poland, Czech Republic, Germany as part of a continuing east/west forest, from Hungary – Switzerland
The little known history suggests the route is ancient Coins, with images of Emperor Gallian 258 were found near Petrovice
Napoleon passed along the Petrovice village road, going north on the 19th August 1813, to defeat, at the Battle of Leipzig 16-19th October 1813
Jablonné v Podještedí 3m down the road is one of the oldest town of North Bohemia

In the town is a great decorative Baroque Church, steeped in history of Zdislava Berk 1220s-1252 an austere but generous woman, memorialised in the crypt
On the town Square, a memorial stands, with religious figures, donated by an unknown sculptor commemorating the lives lost in the black plague of Europe 1680.
Lemberk Chateau 4m looks like a country mansion! was Zdislavas marriage home a walk, bike ride, or 5 minutes drive from Petrovice

Twenty five minutes away is the regional capital Liberec, population 400,000.

The train ride into Liberec from Jablonne has absorbing interests The line cuts through woodlands and tunnelled rock, passes over a viaduct and the land is high, rolling into rural buildings and low valley villages

Liberec south side is edged by Jested Skala (hill) with a restaurant in a conical ultra modern design tower, shaped in and upwards to a needle like point, sits at the top

The extraordinary craft of glass making has been in the region for 700 years

Grabštejn – the castle and chateau at the steep headland near the Nisa river. The upper chateau has been open for the public since 1992 and has gradually repair’s,
The lower castle serves as training centre of army service dogs.
Lemberk –
the Renaissance chateau at the hill-top near Jablonné v Podještedí, hosts a glass exhibit. Originally a guard castle where in the 13th century St. Zdislava lived.
Oybin – extensive ruins of a mediaeval guard castle and monastery on a steep rock headland.
Sloup – a romantic torso of the castle of some time and hermitage at an isolated rock. Extensive premises cut in sandstone are completed by numerous sightseeing routes and galleries.
Tolštejn – a ruin of a guard castle, in the past the frequent seat of robbing knights.
One of the most valued castles is Bezdéz on Velky (big) Bezdéz 638m.
