Location
Cha-am is a small seaside town 200km south of Bangkok & 25km north of Hua-Hin about 2 hours drive from Bangkok. The highway from Bangkok is modern and quick.
The house is a 2 minute stroll to the beach with shops & restaurants all nearby. All you need is within a very easy walk.
If you need a taxi, drivers park under the acacia trees by the beach, and its just a short 2 minute stroll to the beach from the house.
Staying at this property you will NOT NEED a taxi to get to a great choice of restaurants, or grocery shops or the beach, it is all very close to you, it is on your doorstep.
Cha-am has a beautiful long sandy beach, the beach road runs parallel to the beach and all buildings are behind the road leaving the entire beach accessible.
Sit wherever you want to. You can choose to use deck chairs, tables & umbrellas set up by local vendors at a small cost (about 20baht)
Cha-Am successfully caters for foreign tourists however it is a popular destination for Thai tourists. The majority of visitors are Thai, so if you are looking for the "Real Thailand", for an "authentic experience", Cha-am is for you.
Eat in the restaurants frequented by Thai tourists for real authentic Thai food. Lucky Seafood on the Fishermans Pier is one of many wonderful dining experiences in Cha-am.
Pickup from Bangkok or Bangkok international airport by private air-conditioned car can be arranged, payment made direct to the driver in local currency about 2000baht ($65-$70).
We can arrange your pickup for you and we can arrange your return as well. We use a local (Cha-am) driver who will have our manager meet you at the house upon arrival.
The House
The property has three bedrooms, two bedrooms with king size beds and one bedroom with a single bed. There are two bathrooms each with shower, toilet & hand basin, a large lounge and an adjacent dining area with a large dining table. The house has a modern kitchen just off the dining area.
The three bedrooms and the lounge dining are air-conditioned, the compressors are external to the house to keep the air-conditioning very quiet.
The four individual air-conditioners are very powerful and will cool the rooms down to the desired temperature very quickly.
The lounge has cable TV connected and a new flat screen TV plus a JVC stereo with DVD, CD, MP3 & USB. There is a selection of movies and books for your enjoyment.
There is a second TV upstairs with TV points in the two king bedrooms.
Wi-Fi is available in the house via 2 local providers. Just search for available networks on your laptop, connect and pay a small amount via credit card (hourly, weekly or monthly).
All upstairs windows are double glazed and the roof space is insulated to aid cooling and reduce any noise.
Electric usage is charged as an extra and is payable in local currency at the end of your stay or as we require if you have a long stay with us.
The meter is read when you arrive and you are charged the supplier rate per unit used, no surcharge.
AROUND CHA-AM
On the beach road less than a two minute stroll you will find whatever you need.
TURN LEFT and there is a convience store, the post office, ATMs & restaurants catering for all tastes Thai food or western food. There are souvenier shops, thai massage from 200baht for 1 hour ($7.00), and tailors for that made to measure shirt, dress or suit.
Further along the road you will find the Methavalai Hotel, international standard with excellent restaurants and further still the fishermans pier with many seafood restaurants.
TURN RIGHT and there is a coffee shop with free Wi Fi internet, a pharmacy and banks.
There are four small supermarkets in Cha-am, A European supermarket & CJ Supermarket on the road from the beach to the Cha-am Junction (Narathip Road); and Tesco-Lotus and another CJ supermarket opposite the Cha-am market. The Market is undercover and sells fresh produce.
You can rent a bicycle or scooter to see more of Cha-am, or barter with a taxi driver if you want to get to Hua Hin for the day. Local buses are also available to the nearby towns and further destination such as Bangkok, Puket etc.
The main road to Hua-hin is a 3 lane highway with 20 km of manicured gardens in the dividing centre. The trip is very quick, about 20 minutes.
In Hua-hin you will find "Market Village" with a large supermarket and lots of boutique shops.
About 5km north of Cha-am along the road to Bangkok you will find a large shopping complex selling genuine clothing at discount prices. There are mini buses organised by "Premium Outlet" that leave from Cha-am
The Hua Hin/ Cha-am region has the highest density of world class golf courses anywhere in Thailand and it is virtually undiscovered as an international golf destination. Green-fees and other costs are currently among the lowest in the world while course maintenance and services are superb.
Local travel shops can arrange day trips to many places including elephant treks, the floating market and the nearby mountain area. The nearest travel shop is a 2 minute stroll away.
