Property and local area description
Welcome to our Forest/Lake Log Cabin
Situated in the heart of Telemark, South Norway, our brand new 5 bedroom cabin is perfectly situated 50 metres from a beautiful lake, Gonge. Completed in Autumn 2010, it has been built with award winning, state of the art environmentally friendly technology. Our motto is natural living with hidden luxuries.
It is a forest cabin and as such is not connected to the main service - it is completely self sufficient and green. We have a petrol generator, gas and solar for power and fresh water comes from a 100m dug well (hose must be attached to fill a tank) - all of this is explained on arrival, it is quite easy.
Ryanair flights to Oslo (Torp) from Stansted land 1.5 hrs drive away.
In the summer the lake is a mild 20C for swimming or kayaking and one can sunbathe happily in mid to high 20sC.
In winter and early Spring the area is snow-covered and there are cross country ski tracks nearby as well as 3 medium ski-centres, ideal for beginners or intermediates, within 45mins drive. Relax by a roaring log fire in the evening.
