Where to begin?!?! At the beginning of
our stay -what a delightful person to
greet us upon arrival! Rosas smile and
sweet friendly voice -made us feel
welcomed. Wow! When the doors opened -to
walk into such a beautiful home -all of
the space and furnishings to relax in
for our 5 night stays. Except for the
day we spent visiting Aegina, Poros and
Hydra -every morning was spent w/a cup
of coffee watching the sun rise on the
balcony overlooking the beautiful Aegean
Sea. The view will always remain in our
dreams. Thank you for allowing us to
spend the time in your lovely home as
well as your beautiful community.
Walking on the beach, eating at the
Tavernas and listening to the locals
chatting and greeting each other -have
provided us w/many wonderful memories.
The people of Greece are warm and
friendly and welcomed us w/ open arms.
Rosa and Stavros are such a sweet and
delightful couple. Rosas smile and
gentle eyes and Stavros sharing his
knowledge of Greece with us. Stavros and
Rosa are patient -we had so many
questions.
Tim and I spent our 34th anniversary
walking the beach, lunching at a very
romantic corner at one of the tavernas.
We even walked to the beach and back -
upon arrival back at the villa we rested
in the shade out on the patio with a
Mythos -sharing memories of the day. In
the evening the stars definitely
surrounded the Villa -while we chatted
into night.
We hope to return w/our daughters and
their husbands in the near future and
would very much like to stay once again
at the Stargazer Villa.
We have had the good fortune of being
able to visit a few other european
countries but have not felt as relaxed
as we did when we left. Thank you to all
of you, Despina, Stavros, Rosa and
Stavros, for a very wonderful vacation
and the beautiful memories of Greece, to
people and to country.
Saying goodbye is too final so for now
we will say farewell...until we meet
again!

The week we spent in the penthouse of the Stargazer Villa was the best week of our lives! Everything was perfect from the hospitality to the luxurious furnishings, to the breathtaking views. Every minute was a dream! We will never forget our trip and really hope to make it back someday.

08/81/10The Stargazer Villa is visually and atmospherically breathtaking, exceedingly comfortable and luxurious, and made truly the finest by the most pleasantly welcoming and accommodating hosts.
My family and I spent ten days basking in the Schinias sun from the several charming balconies adorning the Villa, waking to gentle oceanic breezes flowing in through sheer dancing curtains, and enjoying home-cooked breakfasts made with fresh ingredients from local farms. The eight of us felt instantly at home (Perhaps more than in our own homes!) and found ourselves in the perfect space to enjoy time together and also to absorb beauty and relaxation in solitude.
Despina and Stavros consistently provided us with excellent advice on where to eat, which beaches to go to, and the most exciting things to see in Marathon, as well as many exceptional suggestions regarding day-long excursions into Marathon and cruises about the Greek islands. They truly made our vacation completely stress-free and fulfilling. Among my favorite memories of our trip lie ones of days spent on the beaches of Marathon: Sunbathing upon a coastline dotted with translucent colored pebbles, leisurely strolling between tavernas dotting the seaside, laughing and observing the countless smiling faces and playful games transpiring under the warm summer sun.
Days we spent exploring Greece with Stavros, who acted as a tour guide, local historian, transportation specialist, and Greek food critic were incredibly awe-inspiring and extremely rich in cultural and historical exploration. We could not have asked for a more knowledgeable tour guide, and thoroughly enjoyed Stavros’ company and wealth of information, as well as his patience and expert ability in conveying intricate historical occurrences so that the whole family was riveted and inspired. Not only did we tour imperial landmarks such as Delphi and the Acropolis, but were also introduced to the heartbeat of Greek culture in places such as a tiny bakery perched quaintly in the mountains. Stavros revealed his great wealth of knowledge consistently throughout our tours of Athens, Marathon, and in between.
This trip being the first time my family has been together in over ten years, I know we agree that we could not have chosen a better Villa for our reunio n. The Stargazer lies in a pristine location, with gorgeous beaches and magnificent mountain views at its doorstep, and exciting night life and shopping conveniently just down the road in Marathon. This accommodation, along with its absolutely charming hosts and overall excellence was completely responsible for our amazing Greek vacation. The memories and experiences we brought home with us are truly priceless, and I would recommend this Villa a hundred times over to anyone looking to make the most of their traveling experience.

Thank you so very much for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home! After 6 weeks of traveling all over France and down through Italy and taking the 17-hour ferry over to Greece, we finally slowed down and truly relaxed for the past 2 weeks here at Stargazer Villa. It truly feels like home! Bill& I, not cooks by nature, really enjoyed making salads, pasta, breakfast, etc. in the open, spacious kitchen, then enjoying our meals at the table by the windows enjoying the spectacular view! Thanks for the many special personal touches such as: the welcoming basket, breakfast items left in the refrigerator for our first breakfast the following morning, plenty of paper goods and washing products, the conveniences of a washer and dryer, computer, phone line to the U.S., etc. We enjoyed the Acropolis in Athens, amazed by the drive to Delphi, Corinth, Nafplion, and Mycenae, but we really enjoyed the quiet solitude and beauty of the natural God-made surroundings of this lovely area.
Despina, it was always a joy talking with you by phone or exchanging e-mails. Would love to meet you and
Stavros one day. It was a delight to meet Rosa and Stavros. They were wonderful and very helpful during our stay.
Thanks again, and God bless you both for making it possible for us, and so many others, to have a special place like Stargazer Villa to come to and make memories that will last a lifetime.

The Stargazer was a wonderful get-away place. Our seven person event was a fabulous success. We felt like the place was just the way it was written about and we fell in love with the view. We were well looked after and taken care of with enough space to enjoy our vacation. Stavros and Rosa (neighbors and the villa upkeepers in off season) were just excellent in making us feel at home and welcome even though we probably seemed very dependent on them. The community store was not a long walk down the hill and was an enjoyable walk back up the hill. The fish taverns on the beach were a less than spectacular, therefore we suggest cooking in the more than adequate kitchen. For the short stay vacationers the suggested driver is wonderful to and from the airport and you do not need a car to rent. We opted for the 45 minute walk from the beach to the house. Long vacationers may want a car for personal enjoyment and to get from the super market, Athens, and other desired places. THE VIEW!!! The VIEW!!! The VIEW!!! The pictures do not even compare to what the eye could see in person. Thank you for a wonderful place to stay Stavros and Despina, you have done a wonderful job on keeping up the place.

Located on the top of the mountain with one of the most beautiful water views I have ever seen. Even though you feel a million miles away from the hussle of the city the villa is very close to private beaches, ports and Athens.'

To sum it up it was a wonderful holiday. We were able to get to know the ancient, historic Greece and modern one enjoying all the facilities of modern world in an idyllic setting. The top of the hill position made us think that this is how people in Olympus lived. Enjoying a glass of retzina (Greek wine, very good) on the terrace in the evening after a full day was a real pleasure."

We would like to tell the world about "Stargazer" Villa and how fortunate we were to find it. The panoramic views from the Villa's balcony/patio are breathtaking. It has the most fantastic sunrises and at night the lights of the coastal communities are beautiful. Stargazer Villa comes with the most accommodating and interesting hosts Stavros & Despina. Their caring for us began with my calling Despina from Athen's Airport to advise of our arrival and continued until our departure. Directions to the Villa were easy to follow. Stravros introduced us to Marathon by taking us to the local grocery store, suggesting foods and wine which we might like to try. He also found us a wonderful guide who took our party of four on a full day of sightseeing. As we told Stavros we would rate Stargazer Villa a 10+. This is an experience we would one day love to repeat.

It was our first ever booking by internet and we were a little apprehensive about doing it that way to start with but everything went like clockwork and it was so good of you to answer all our questions and problems so quickly.We will always be grateful for the way you helped us out when our flight was changed to another day. Not many people would have been so understanding or helpful and we are really grateful.

Stavros and Despina answered any questions we had about navigating through Greece. One day, we decided to drive to Olympia. I highly recommend doing this, if you have the time. On our way to Olympia, we took the main roads. On the way back, we took the mountain road. If you have the nerves for driving on crooked narrow mountain roads, I would definitely take advantage of the mountain road. We passed through several picturesque villages, and were able to take some amazing photos.
When we decided to spend a day in Athens, Stavros recommended Stavros the taxi driver. I am very glad we hired Stavros the taxi driver. He did a great job taking us around Athens. The restaurant he suggested for lunch was delightful. The food was fresh, delicious, and most important – affordable!
Thank you Stavros and Despina! We will definitely come back for another visit, and I will make sure to tell everyone about your wonderful home and hospitality!

Staying at the Stargazer Villa was everything we hoped it would be and more. The Villa was beautiful inside and out. we had phenominal views looking out over the water. Stavros was very helpful in showing us around the area for things to see, where to buy food, or get a good meal. He helped us plan our agenda by giving excellent advise on which archeological sites, islands, cities, etc. we should see. If you stay at Stargazer Villa take a little time to talk to Stavros about Greek hisory, culture and politics, he is very knowledgable in these areas. I feel a significant portion of the success of our trip was due to the spacious accomodations of the Villa( which was great for our family of 5) and the hospitality of Stavros.

Stepping out on the beautiful and large terrace we had an awesome picture. Thousand of small lights bordering the land in front of us complemented by the beautiful sky lit by thousands of stars. Although tired, we had enough time to look at the modern and full kitchen with all the utilities from fridge to microwave, before heading to the bedrooms: large, comfortable, with A/C, inviting to a well-deserved and much needed rest.

04/18/05 Positive My husband and I had our wedding reception at the Stargazer Villa. The view, the atmosphere, the entire experience was so magical, so incredibly unique! And the owners could not have been more accomodating and welcoming. I highly recommend this as a perfect vacation home rental for those who want to experience a truly relaxing and momentous getaway!
