We stayed at Costa Brava apartments for 2 weeks in July/August 2012. Worth noting the photos on the website are a mix of various apartments they own. The apartment is let down by: Bathroom - the shower has a glass screen that you wouldn’t want to fall against to exit the shower you have to stand in an area tiled with smooth, glossy wall tiles – i.e. lethal to stand on. There were no sink or bidet plugs. Big issues with the Kitchen – has an ancient calor gas cooker (you have to change the gas bottle), the oven wouldn’t light, hob is broken and unable to safely support a pan. The extractor fan is very old, never been cleaned - we emptied the drip tray but throughout the 2 weeks grease was continually dripping. There are 5 frying pans and one pan, all unusable. There are only 3 mugs, one broken, disgusting chopping boards (to die for). The cutlery and one and only cooking utensil are bent and broken, there is no kettle. The microwave functions but is taped together the fridge/ freezer is old but functions although it hadn’t been defrosted. The floor mop handle is broken in half making it useless. There is a new electric water heater (albeit small for 4 occupants) - we had it replaced during our stay because it was decrepit and blew the electrics. Some of the hired bedding was stained and holed. The apartment backs on to La Siesta camp site, the noise from the music late at night is deafening. On the plus side, the location is great – an easy walk to several nice beaches. The grounds are well kept, good sized pool parking is fine, (a little tight for a large family car). We will definitely be returning to the area but not to this apartment unless it is refurbished.
