Monte Rosa - Residence The Twin Stones

The Residence, the new construction, can be found between the villages of Riva Valdobbia and Alagna only 2 km from the ski lifts. The result of a long project which was started in 2005, its aim was to reconstruct old buildings existing in the area. Comprising 4 characteristic mountain houses in wood and stone set out behind two monolithic stone masses which originally gave their name to the community which settled here, the building includes 16 accommodation units with more then 70 beds. The Resort offers studio apartments with 2 or 3 beds, two-room apartments with 4 beds and 5 beds with mezzanine, and two “first class” apartments, one of which is under the roof, with 6 beds each. Clients have many services at their disposal: a good-sized private car park, a beautiful summer garden with children’s play area, a heated ski room and reception with trained staff. During the winter season, moreover, there is a transfer service to the ski lifts. All of the apartments are tastefully decorated and equipped with useful accessories, they have independent heating systems, colour satellite television, telephone also with internal line, tableware, and linen for kitchen, bedrooms and bathroom some apartments have also private balconies. The framework in which this is all set is unique in the whole valley: the apartments on the north side enjoy the marvellous views across the village of Alagna to the southern face of Monte Rosa the south-facing apartments have sun all day and look out over the village of Riva Valdobbia. At the moment under construction is also a health centre, including hydromassage, sauna, Turkish baths, Scottish showers, massage rooms and relaxation areas, planned to open in summer 2008. The reconstruction of the original buildings was well thought-out and has been carried out with great skill to create a welcoming refuge, characteristic in style, but functional and creative. A meeting place for spirit, mind and body, where environment, nature, sport and well-being are returned to a real equilibrium.

Residence The Twin Stones
A single room with just about everything: the elegance of the Luserna-stone floor and lots of light coming from the large floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the lawn. The kitchen is equipped with all the essentials: 2 electrical hotplates for cooking, microwave oven, tableware, cutlery, pots and pans and kitchen utensils. An Internet access point is located next to the dining table. The double sofa bed is surprisingly comfortable, and a flat screen satellite TV completes the furnishings of the room.

Bath room
The very characteristic small window located in front of the sink allows the Mount Rosa to be appreciated in all its magic. Elegantly furnished with floor in Luserna stone, design bathroom fittings and shower, also in Luserna stone.
