Our family had excellent holiday in the villa this summer and we cant forget it until now. Villa is very homely, comfortable and quiet. We found everything and much more that we expected and needed for the stay. There were some small things asking for repair, but its no wonder- we also have a house and know that almost every day we have to repair one or another thing. So we felt like at home here and tried to repair a shower head :)
Men who maintained a pool and garden is very kind and careful.
We wish him and villa owners good luck and a lot of happy holidaymakers!

Wow, What a reply. I have a family member who is a published Travel Writer and he has always told me that constructive critisism would usually be welcomed and acted upon. By inviting reviews and comments, I stand by the addage that "If you dont want to hear the answer, dont ask the question". As 2 mature couples from the same family, we discussed our views and I condensed them into what we considered to be fair comments. We have no wish to upset Tanya, her employees, or her loyal bookers. I think this experience reinforces our opinions that we cant go far wrong on a cruise and when we want land based luxury, we will continue to book 4/5* hotels.
We do not purport to offer anything akin to a stay in a 4 or 5 star hotel. We offer the use of our home which we consider to be good quality, comfortable, well-maintained accommodation. At under £20 per person per night even in high season, this is a ridiculous coparison to make. I wanted to make the point that, had this client raised any issues regarding the cleanliness of the pool or villa (or the dog mess), they would have been dealt with and rectified immediately. I have subsequently discovered that my pool cleaner went to sort the pool as there had been some heavy rain, and the clients told him not to bother with it as they wouldn't be using it anyway. I refute the opinion that the property is unkempt and uncared for. We visit regularly and ensure all maintenace, both functional and cosmetic is dealt with.

I couldnt find any 2010 reviews for this property and should have wondered why? We were disappointed that the rear garden/terraces and pool were in need of care, attention and basic repairs. e.g. some paint and general t.l.c. The outside areas look a bit shabby and unkempt. We forgave the fact that the pool was very dirty because of it being the first two weeks of May and too cold for it to have been used, therefore, it may not have been maintained for that reason. In general, the interior of the villa was good. The main bathroom could benefit from some attention and the toilet was in need of a "good scrub with some bleach". The spare duvets that were unmade in the unused bedroom, were stained, making me wonder what the ones we were sleeping under would be like, but I decided better not to look! We feel that with some basic care and attention, a few diy jobs and not a lot of money spent, this villa could be superb. Unfortunately, the worse problem was that the neighbours dog, as cute as he was, defecated several times in the garden and around the palm tree, which the smell, on the warm days that we had, wafted up to us on the terrace and in through the bedroom window. That, was quite disgusting. The area, the beautiful views and the places we visited, were fabulous. We visit Spain several times a year as we have relatives living there and we meet up in different villas in different areas, we wish though, that we had chosen a different villa, but hindsight is a wonderfull thing.
I was extremely disappointed to find Mr Bee was not satisfied with his stay in our Spanish home. I welcome the opportunity to respond and feel I can answer confidently, as we had not long returned from staying there having completed our winter stay and maintenance programme. With regard to the lack of recent reviews, a high proportion of our clients either return annually and book directly with us, or book via another website, so are not eligible to review via this website.
I am disappointed to hear that the pool wasn't clean. I have a good and reliable pool cleaner and have not had problems in the past. It is possible that there was heavy rain or a storm between his cleaning of the pool and the commencement of the booking. I would rather have been notified about this during the client's stay, so that it could have been rectified - in the villa there is an information book requesting that any problems are notified so that they can be fixed. I do take issue with the view that the area around the pool looks shabby and unkempt. This area was freshly painted in March. The garden area has been newly terraced and planted so it will take a while for the plants to establish, but I would have thought it was obvious that this was newly planted area, rather than one that had been left unloved. All the outdoor furniture has been replaced for this season, bought by me in March / April this year.
I am alarmed to hear the toilet wasn't clean. Our current cleaners have been employed for the last 2 years and I have regularly asked visitors for their opinion on the cleanliness, which has been invariably very good or excellent. I will address this with the cleaners, but again would have preferred to have heard about this at the time. If Mr Bee had "dared to" look at the duvets on the beds he would have seen they were all brand new duck feather and down duvets (I brought them out from the UK in Oct 2010 as they are difficult to get locally)
Much time, effort and investment (and love) has been put into our property in recent years - the whole interior has been renovated with new doors / windows, central heating, floor tiles. The front terraces and steps have been re-tiled. The majority of the inside furniture has been bought within the last couple of years and the interior freshly painted within the last year. As it is our property we have no interest in either doing things on the cheap, or allowing it to fall into disrepair.
I can only apologise on behalf of the neighbours' dog. This was not a problem during our stay in March / April, but the weather may have been cooler then. However I did not notice any poos and they tended to walk him down the track rather than across the front of our house. I will speak to them and ensure they control him at all times and remove any residue if there are any accidents.
Going back to reviews, this is a copy of an email I received from the family that were staying in the villa the week prior to Mr Bee's arrival (translation in brackets)
Te escribo para decirte que hemos tenido unas felices vacaciones. Vuestra casa es preciosa y estupenda, nos ha gustado muchisimo y es muy tranquila. (I AM WRITING TO SAY THAT WE HAD A HAPPY HOLIDAY. YOUR HOUSE IS BEAUTIFUL AND FANTASTIC, WE LOVED IT AND IT IS VERY PEACEFUL)
Todo ha estado estupendo. El paisaje es muy relajante y la casa muy confortable. (EVERYTHING WAS FANTASTIC.THE VIEW IS VERY RELAXING AND THE HOUSE VERY COMFORTABLE)
Espero que podamos volver a visitarla ya que mis amigos han quedado encantados. A los niños les ha gustado mucho la piscina. (I HOPE THAT WE CAN RETURN TO STAY. MY FRIENDS WERE DELIGHTED WITH IT. THE CHILDREN LOVED THE POOL)
Lo peor ha sido el tiempo, que ha llovido un par de días.(THE WORST THING WAS THE WEATHER AS IT RAINED A FEW DAYS)
El señor que vino a limpiar la piscina es muy simpático y estuve prácticando ingles con él.
Muchas gracias por todo y espero volver a contactar contigo ya que en septiembre tendremos más vacaciones y si tienes la casa libre nos encantaría volver. (THE MAN THAT CAME TO CLEAN THE POOL WAS VERY FRIENDLY AND I PRACTISED MY ENGLISH WITH HIM. MANY THANKS FOR EVERYTHING AND I HOPE TO CONTACT YOU AGAIN BECAUSE IN SEPTEMBER WE HAVE MORE HOLIDAYS AND IF THE HOUSE IS FREE WE WOULD LOVE TO RETURN)
I find it difficult to believe the property has deteriorated significantly within the intervening week. I also find it somewhat incongruous that in the review the villa is described as "good", the overall assessment as "fair" and then it is only awarded 1 star out of 5!

Wonderful setting, lovely views, choice of shade or sun, not too far from beach or supermarket by car. Would have been helpful to know in advance that Alcampo supermarket in commercial section near Alicante airport open Saturday afternoon and a Spar on right on approach to Denia open Sunday morning. However, welcome pack on arrival very welcome. Villa tastefully furnished and all home comforts. Young and old enjoyed it. We have already booked up for next year!

The villa was absolutely ideal for a family with at least 1 member who enjoys driving in Europe.
We had the best family holiday any of us can remember. We had 3 generations present and all needs and aspirations were catered for.
The pool is superb, the views either from there or when dining on the verandah were breathtaking and the villa itself is very well equipped.
Apart from food shopping and going to reasonably closely located restaurants and bars it is very easy just to stay all the time in this superb location.
I take my family on holiday every year to a villa somewhere in Europe. This is the fourth year Ive done this and La Palma is Numero Uno by miles.
Thank you for a fantastic holiday..well be back and thats a promise.

Lovely spacious villa in beautiful surroundings. The pool was big enough for us all.
we were very grateful for the welcome pack, as we arrived late in evening.
It was the perfect place for a laid back holiday.

Lovely house and super views. Pool excellent and plenty of terraces for sun or shade. A little off the beaten track but normally 20 minutes to the north beach at Gandia.
Gandia was a little over developed for our tast and we returned to the emptier beaches at Oliva, half an hour away, where we had stayed before.
Local bar a little basic but good friendly service. Too far to walk but not a problem. A car is essential in any case.
Peaceful and relaxed holiday enjoyed by everybody from children to grandparents

The property was remote enough for a peaceful break but also close enough to all amenities. The directions were extremely clear and we found the property straight away. The views were stunning and the property had all mod cons that you require particularly with a family.
The owners communication was very good pre our stay and ensured that items such as cots were provided.
The pool and garden were substantial and there were lots of tables, chairs and sunloungers at our disposal.
The neighbours were friendly but the property is not overlooked and I would definitley recommend a stay here.
The welcome pack was a lovely surprise too.

La Palma was a fantastic villa. The owner had thought of everything to make visitors comfortable - all the comforts of home and more! There is a large living area and kitchen with a wonderful naya overlooking the valley of orange groves. The welcome pack was very necessary as we arrived late on Saturday night and no shops were open on Sunday. Poolside there are plenty of beds, patios in both sun and shade and parasols. The villa is in a rural position about a 15 minute run in the car from the Gandia beach (closer to Gandia town) so if you want to be near the beach this is not the villa for you. However, if you want peace, tranquility and a fabulous holiday - then this is the one for you! The beaches in the area are all fantastic with blue flags - Gandia beach can be busy but if you head to the Zone Nord it is quieter. Have fun if you chose this villa - we did!

The villa was fantastic, the pictures dont do it justice. The views were lovely and we all had a enjoyable holiday.
There are a couple of bars which can be reached by a 10 min + walk but everything else we needed the car for, I suppose having a few more amenties nearer by would have been better but not a major problem as we had a willing driver.

this property is fantastic. The view from the front is amazing. When we arrived we found a welcome pack which was a big surprise and very much enjoyed!!! Easy to find but definatly need a car to get about which was no problem for us as we drove out there anyway. Our children loved the pool and the surrounding area. We would definatly go back to this property.

This property is ideal for a large group or two families.
The only criticism would be more outside lighting for eating at night.
Would recommend future guests take a torch as there were several power cuts at night although they were short lived.
The pool area was superb with plenty of outside furniture.
The washing machine leaked the first time it was used but was found to have a twisted hose which was quickly fixed by the agents.
Would definitely visit this property again.

The property was clean and well maintained. It was quite large and the pool was larger than we expected. There was a welcome pack awaiting on arrival too which was a nice touch/surprise. Only drawback with the property is the remoteness, although the property had fabulous views. Perhaps not suitable for those wanting to walk to bars/restaurants at night.
