I ran a construction based company in the UK for many years and when I came across this Cortijo I was struck by the beauty of the area, the potential for reforming the house into its former glory and equally by the remarkable history of the place.
Unbelievably the farm dates back to Roman times and beyond and pieces of pottery unearthed have been dated as 2000 + years old.
This cortijo is in many ways quite unique both in the fact of its privacy and surroundings and the fact that it was not demolished and replaced with a new building.
It is only in very recent years that the Andalucian government have begun to protect and restore its rich Architectual heritage.
