We discovered the Belek / Side region of Antalya, (affectionately called ‘the Turkish Riviera’ due to its archaeological and natural beauty), just three years ago and were immediately drawn to its friendly, laid back atmosphere.

We knew that a holiday in this area would virtually guarantee bright sunny weather, whatever the time of year, but unlike more commercial resorts, Kadriye in particular has retained much of the original charm and culture that has always led us back to Turkey. Coming face to face with the odd camel, cows and chickens roaming in the yards of houses on the outskirts of the village is still a common sight! We‘ve thoroughly enjoyed our holidays in Turkey over the years and have met many lovely people who we look forward to seeing each time we return.

Belek is of course, home to some of the finest championship golf courses in the world and many are just a few minutes drive from our villa. The quality of these courses compares favourably with any around England and Europe, including the Algarve and Spain. Green fees vary from course to course and are seasonal with the hotter summer months being the least expensive.

Although Belek is probably more cosmopolitan and offers greater choice for shopping, Kadriye is like going home – it’s easy to find your way around and everyone will make you feel welcome and treat you as though they have known you for years. Custom is very important to Turkish people and when you are the customer you can expect to be looked after extremely well. It is a Turkish business man’s sole aim to ensure you leave satisfied in order that you will return again very soon - after relieving you of as much cash as he can of course!

There are several very good restaurants in Kadriye and Belek all offering a varying choice of menu at reasonable prices. One of our favourites is Adana in Kadriye, where it is still possible to eat in a smart restaurant and have a superb meal for little more than ٣ a head – although ordering wine will double your bill! If you go into Adana, be sure to ask for Mustafa and remember us to him!
 

Güneºli Villa is situated on the peaceful Kutaykent Sitesi complex , one of two neighbouring Sitesis (the other being Hayatal). It is found just off the main Kadriye to Belek road, within 3 kms of both towns, approximately 26 kms from Antalya airport. There is a good sized (shared) swimming pool on site and a local supermarket, ‘Yildiz Market’ at the end of the road, just 5 minutes stroll. Here you can buy all your essentials, including freshly baked bread each morning. The owner, Bulendy speaks good English and is always useful to tap for advice and local information.

Accommodation is on 3 levels:

Ground floor : WC cloakroom utility area with washing machine and valuables safe fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, 4 ring cooker and hob, fridge freezer, microwave dining area with table and chairs, and sitting room lounge with TV, CD stereo, DVD player. (Air conditioned). Outside patio, barbeque and garden.

1st floor: Shower room with WC Bedroom 1 - twin beds, wardrobes Bedroom 2 - single bed with outside sun balcony, wardrobes Bedroom 3 - twin bunk beds, wardrobes Locked storage cupboard.

2nd floor: Double bedroom, fitted wardrobes Bathroom with bath and shower, WC Large outside sun terrace equipped with sunbeds and cushions.
 

We have spent a lot of time and money (or rather Jacki has!), to make our home comfortable and well equipped with all modern facilities to ensure you have an enjoyable and safe holiday. There is an information folder with equipment instructions, recommendations of places to visit and eat, medical and emergency facilities and contact numbers etc. Guests comments and suggestions are always welcomed.

The house is kept clean, well decorated, with a newly tiled ceramic floor and marble staircase. It is fully air conditioned, with additional ceiling fans to maintain comfortable living conditions. Energy saving solar heating ensures plenty of hot water is available throughout the summer, with a back up immersion heater facility if and when required. For safety reasons and to keep the house pleasant for future guests, we respectfully ask you not to smoke inside the house at all times.

All bedding is supplied plus wash/shower towels for indoor use only.

Our guests can enjoy the new good sized communal swimming pool (open mid May - September). It is planned to have a bar/snack facility and surrounding sunbeds this year, but guests are welcome to take the villa sunbeds to the pool area if desired.

We can arrange for our guests to be collected from the airport and driven to the house, or we can recommend value for money car hire. To explore the region, we highly recommend hiring a car to get around, although regular public transport (Dolmus) is available at the end of the road, together with a good taxi service for those late nights!

The popular, yet uncrowded, golden sand beach is a five minute drive away offering a multitude of water sport activities for the more athletic, or relaxing sunbathing for the less energetic. For a change, you can even use the excellent facilities and entertainment of local 5 star hotels, all inclusive of food and drink, use of pools, water slides, private beach etc, for very reasonable daily or half daily rates, with 50% discounts for children under 12, and free for children under 7.

Just some of the many day attractions include spectacular waterfalls at Duden, exhilarating rafting at Koprulu Canyon, the captivating ancient ruins at Side (pronounced See-day), enticing shopping in Antalya and mesmerizing boat trips, enthralling jeep safaris....where do I stop?

In the evenings, you can choose to dance the night away or ‘inspect’ the choice of bars in Belek or Kadriye, but whatever else, you should reserve a night at Aspendos, and enjoy a breathtaking show in arguably the best restored Roman amphitheatre in the world! A memorable experience!

If you do choose to stay at our villa, remember, you will only be half an hour from the airport and just 5 to 10 minutes from all amenities – local towns, beaches, several of the world’s most renowned golf courses and the beautiful pine forest, which is fantastic if you enjoy horse riding. I was lucky enough to see baby turtles leaving their nest for the first time and heading towards the sea, when I was riding in the forest.

With a backdrop view of the Taurus mountains, we are only an hour and 45 mins drive away from the ski resort at Saklikent, which enjoys good snow conditions from December through to the beginning of May. Imagine a morning’s skiing followed by an afternoon dip in the warm Mediterranean sea!

Some of our best days have been on one of the many boats that adorn the harbour at Side. Follow this with a gentle stroll around the temple ruins before finally enjoying a drink or meal and watching the magnificent sunset across the sea – just perfect. It really is beautiful and we have got some amazing photos to remind us.

Just writing this makes me envious that it is you going and not me! – have a wonderful holiday and we really do hope you love it as much as we do.

Much attention has been given to the relaxing decor of this superb villa, with newly tiled floors and marble staircase with special attention to detail. Thoughtful consideration has been given to cater for guests' comfort and safety - including ceiling fans (as well as air conditioning), patio sun loungers, large water containers and a supply of 'more than enough' coat hangers! Smoke alarms have been fitted on each floor, and there is a security safe should guests wish to use it.

The villa comprises 4 bedrooms in total; 1 double, 2 twin, 1 single. . This gives room for up to 7 people. Bed linen and towels are provided for your use.

The villa has 2 bathrooms and 3 WCs for your party's use. Air-conditioning keeps the villa cool.

The villa has television dvd. The music system will play cds.

There is room for 7 in the living room and 5 in the dining room. To prepare food you will find a cooker, an oven, a microwave, a fridge, a freezer, a kettle, a toaster. You will also find a dish washer, a washing machine, a clothes drier, an iron and ironing board. The owner has also provided cutlery, crockery, glassware, cooking utensils.
