Villa Amarilla is situated in the North West of the island in the quiet but fastly growing in reputation fishing village of Albion. Currently only the first floor is vailable for rent although two more room can be made vailable downstairs if required. A Club Med hotel is curently under construction nearby. Albion's inhabitants are a combination of locals and ex-pats. The beach is only a stone throw away and you can wait for the fishermen to arrive with their catch at midday to purchase fresh fish. There is a fresh vegetable stall just down the road together with a restaurant, mini market and hair dresser. A larger mini market can be found a few more hundred yards further. There is a regular bus service to the nearest town of Rosehill where there is an abundance of shops, banks and market. Port Louis is 30 minutes away where the famous Caudan Waterfront can be found as well as the historic value of Port Louis itself. Although you can generally hire a car for around £20-£25 pound, the best way to explore and get to places must be by local buses and taxi although a couple of days exploring by yourself is also nice. A whole day's taxi fare is around £35 and half a day £20. This can be arranged in advance.  

From Albion you can easily reach other resorts and take advantage of deep sea fishing, scuba diving, swim with the dolphins of have a barbecue on an island.

Other types of water sports are available in the south west coast and can be purchased locally.

There is an abundance of restaurants scattered around the island offering both local and European dishes. A good evening meal for 2 in a good restaurant with a bottle of wine would cost between £30-£35. Lunches can be purchased for anything betwen £5 and £10.  

You will be enchated with the local beauty of Mauritius, its inhabitants and cosmopolitan way of life which is second to none. Make sure you venture deep into the heart of Mauritius rather than just lazying on the beach to fully appreciate what Mauritius really has to offer.

Villa Amarilla has recently had a major face lift and has been furnished to European standard. Three of the four bedroom have air conditioning whilst the fourth bedroom can be cooled with one of the fans. Cleaning and bedlinen are included in the rental price and laundry and ironing can be arranged and paid for locally. Rental price quoted is for up to four persons. Additional persons are charged at £50 per week each.

The villa comprises 4 bedrooms in total; 2 double, 1 twin, 1 single. . This gives room for up to 7 people. Bed linen and towels are provided for your use.

The villa has 2 bathrooms and 2 WCs for your party's use. Air-conditioning keeps the villa cool.

The villa has television dvd. The music system will play radio.

There is room for 7 in the living room and 7 in the dining room. To prepare food you will find a cooker, a microwave, a fridge, a freezer, a kettle, a toaster. You will also find a washing machine, an iron and ironing board. The owner has also provided cutlery, crockery, glassware, cooking utensils.

The villa is in a quiet area but you may hear occasional noise. It has a west facing garden, a west facing patio area, a west facing balcony, sea views, panoramic views. If you are driving there is private parking and a garage with the outside areas of the house having external lighting.

The villa is right beside a beach, swimming, walking, cycling, a food shop.

Close to the villa you will find a restaurant.

Within easy reach of the villa you will find sailing, water skiing, boat hire, wind surfing, fishing, golf, scuba diving, historic sites, a museum, a theatre/cinema, shopping areas.

Simon says: "Let me start by saying that Villa Amarilla is a great place for a group to stay. The facilities are fantastic, the villa is well equipped and the location is only a 5 minute walk to the beach! The villa is well appointed and good value for money. The quality of the premises exceeded our expectations indeed, the property is far nicer than our homes in the UK!! In fact, the description on the rental systems website did not do the property justice it was better than we were expecting! They have a gardener to come and tidy the yard up each week and any issues are readily dealt with by the agents. Comfortable living and dining furniture is provided in an open planned, large area opening on to a generous balcony. There is access to four spacious bedrooms with queen size or large single beds and air con or fans are available in all. Two bathrooms with hot water and toilets are also available. We stayed in the upstairs section below there are two double bedroom flats also (check availability)! There were only four in our group so the upstairs was plenty of room. The kitchen has a gas hob (fed by bottled gas) and a microwave oven as well as the standard kettle and toaster. All linen and dining/kitchen equipment are well supplied. Laundry facilities are present, as is a TV. But who comes to Mauritius to watch TV??? I would recommend this property to any group wanting to stay in a less touristy area on this beautiful island and would very much like to stay there again myself! Albion is not as well established as some other areas, but the warm weather in this small bay make it ideal for warm, lazy sunsets sitting on the balcony, sipping a nice glass of wine, or even better... some local rhum on ice!"
