Finca el Regalo is a extremely private Andalusian country villa situated on 20.000 m2 ground with a wonderful views of the Mediterranean. Newly built with the preservation of the Andalusian ambiance and heritage is tastefully decorated and furnished. The exterior of the property in no less impressive, terraced on different levels. The Mediterranean garden contains over 90 matured olive, avocado, mango and almond trees. A courtyard and ample terracing provide ideal spots for relaxing barbequing and dining. A pool (10 x 4.5 m) faces south and enjoys wonderful views of the surrounding terrain and the see beyond.
The villa consist of two separate units located on different levels. Property has a separate smaller annex house situated near the swimming pool. We are renting together the lover level of the main house and the annex house. The upper part of the main house stay closed during your stay.
You drive only 12 min. to the nearest village Competa where you can find all amenities. The half hour drive to the coast takes you to the resorts of Torrox Costa, Nerja, Torre del Mar, offering fine beaches, water sports, markets, many bars, restaurants and shops.
Be aware that you need a car for your stay in Finca el Regalo and you will be driving in the mountains of the rural Andalucía. The last 800 meters of the road to the house is unpaved (dirty track) in some places rugged and steep but in relatieve good condition and you do not need 4x4drive to pass trough. As a rule, please, drive in this region, very carefully. As a compensation you will get extreme privacy during your holiday stay.

 

Competa is situated 650m above sea level and due to its moderate and healthy climate a lot of people prefer this area.  Being situated some distance from the sea enables Competa to enjoy a very fine climate during the winter months. This old Moorish Town overlooking the Sierras is relatively free of tourism and still intrinsically Spanish in culture, bustling with local live. When you take a walk to Competa - which for centuries has been the capital of wine and resins - you will find yourself immediately immersed in all the charm of a village that, with its narrow white-washed streets and flower-covered balconies, appears impervious to the passage of time.
The village is very well served with an abundance of fine restaurants and bars each offering local cuisine or tapas at low prices. Competas inhabitants basically live from agriculture, especially wine growing, from which wines they obtain the "Moscatel wine" and "Uva Pasa" (Dry Grapes), both products internationally appreciates due to their excellent quality. Each year on 15th August Competa hosts a very famous wine festival called El Noche Del Vino (The Night of the Wine). At the end of July there is the annual Feria (country fair) which usually last a week when the local people hardly sleep at all.
For anyone who wishes to explore the foothills of Sierra Almijara the countryside surrounding Competa offers splendid views, excellent walking, bird watching and horseback riding. It is a good starting-point for excursions and hikers. The area is perfect both for walking in the mountains and relaxing on the beach. There are many places to visit around that offer a wide range of traditions, beauty, history and amusements. The Alcazaba in Málaga, with the port and the city itself and the Piccaso museum (www.museopicassomalaga.org ) Córdoba, with its grand Mosque  Granada, with its incomparable Palace of the Alhambra or the beautiful gardens of Seville and, as a backdrop, the snowy peaks of Sierra Nevada  - are just some of the examples. In Nerja you should visit the most spectacular attraction - fascinating caves, located just three kilometres from the centre of town. They include archaeological treasures such as paintings over 20,000 years old and other pre-historic remains. For the more adventurous, Madrid is only a 3-hour train drive away and Morocco is just across the Straight of Gibraltar.

The finca comprises 3 bedrooms in total; 1 double, 1 twin, 1 single and 1 cots, 2 of the bedrooms with en-suite facilities. . This gives room for up to 5 people. Bed linen and towels are provided for your use.

The finca has 2 bathrooms and 2 WCs for your party's use. Air-conditioning keeps the finca cool. The finca has a sauna.

The finca has television and home cinema with dvd, satellite/cable. The music system will play cds, radio. If you need to keep in contact there is a telephone for incoming and outgoing calls.

There is room for 4 in the living room and 4 in the dining room. The open fire can be used to create a comfortable atmosphere. To prepare food you will find a cooker, an oven, a fridge, a freezer, a toaster. You will also find a dish washer, a washing machine, an iron and ironing board. The owner has also provided cutlery, glassware, cooking utensils.

The finca is in a very quiet area. It has a private south facing swimming pool, a south facing garden, a south facing patio area, sea views, panoramic views, a barbeque. If you are driving there is private parking with the outside areas of the house having external lighting.

The finca is right beside swimming, walking, mountain biking.

Close to the finca you will find climbing, horse riding, tennis, a restaurant, a food shop.

Within easy reach of the finca you will find a beach, sailing, water skiing, boat hire, wind surfing, fishing, golf, scuba diving, a theatre/cinema, shopping areas.

Competa and it's Sierra Almijara National Park is internationally famous among walkers.
