In a beautiful old village farmhouse in the Ardèche region of Southern France. The village of St Paul le Jeune lies in the foothills of the Cevennes mountains, in a quiet and as yet unspoiled corner of Provence Cevenol. The apartment, decorated in traditional style, sleeps up to 5 people, has full kitchen amenities and includes bed and kitchen linen. There is a large terrace for sunbathing and outside dining with superb views. Although only a few yards from the extensive forests of the Cevennes, the apartment is within easy walking distance of a bank, post-office and local shops. Unlimited wifi access is available at the house. 

While an ideal location for those seeking a quiet and inspirational vacation in an authentic part of rural France, the area is renowned for its cultural and leisure activities. St Paul le Jeune is within easy striking distance of the old Roman towns of Nimes, Avignon, Arles and Aubenas. And for the more adventurous the area offers some of the best swimming, walking, cycling and canoeing in this part of Europe. The famous Ardèche Gorge is close by and the Mediterranean coast, a comfortable day trip. The Ardèche is fast becoming a renowned wine growing region and the area is dotted with numerous small vineyards producing excellent wines. Within a kilometer of the house is one of the most extensive collections of prehistoric 'dolmens' in Europe. 

For the more adventurous this area is an endless source of outdoor activities. There are a number of spectacular rivers within easy distance that provide excellent swimming, sunbathing and some of the best canoeing in France. Extensive hiking trails criss-cross the region, literally starting from the front gate. It has also become a major destination for rock-climbers, potholers and mountain bikers. Kids love it. Apart from the water, there numerous places to hunt fossils, to visit amazing caves and run around the countryside 

The gite comprises 2 bedrooms in total; 2 double and 1 cots. The property also has 1 double sofa bed located in the upper bedroom mezzanine. This gives room for up to 5 people. Bed linen and towels are provided for your use.

Emma says: "I feel torn between writing a review and keeping quiet about this utterly beautiful property we had the pleasure of staying in August 08. Initial reservations about a property within the owners property dissipated almost immediately as we walked through the gate into the courtyard. The house is tardis-like and the setting is so pretty and so peaceful that we really could not believe our luck. The owner was very welcoming, friendly and helpful without being at all over the top. We all had the best holiday and really hope that we get the opportunity to return before everybody else discovers this fabulous place."
