We are delighted to a offer you private, self-catering accommodation in our Italian holiday home, a beautifully restored 2 bedroom apartment in this unique historical building.

The building and grounds, including the swimming pool, are run by a local, professionally qualified administrator. The apartment you see here is managed by Garda Homes, a British/Italian company, who oversee all aspects of bookings, changeovers and laundry, so you can be assured of the highest standards while still enjoying the privacy and genuinity of a booking direct from the owner.  

Set in the hills above Salo, it faces south, or very slightly south-east, meaning it enjoys the rays of the sun from morning until sun-down, with a pleasant breeze in the afternoons. On the hottest days, when temperatures can reach the low forties in the towns down around the lake, the gardens and pool at Il Palazzo enjoy a light breeze and temperatures a few degrees lower than at the lakeside. At night, the apartment is lovely and cool and air-conditioning is simply not needed.
Winters are incredibly mild, and while frost can be found at the bottom of the hill on the coldest mornings, up at Il Palazzo the sun warms the hillside. Last winter, we enjoyed almost three months of bright sunshine every day, with a bit of rain in November and April, and a dusting of snow in December.

It is surrounded by beautiful countryside, with vineyards just below the Palazzo and olive trees in abundance, yet the lake, with its charming street cafe life, designer shops and restaurants, is a short 5 minute drive away, Gardaland and other theme parks are 30 minutes away, the opera house at the Arena di Verona is 40 minutes away, and the designer stores of Milan are just 1 1/4 hours away by train or 1 1/2 hours by car.


 

The apartment at Il Palazzo offers a true home from home, with every facility for a comfortable stay.

The main entrance leads on to a wide, original marble staircase, opening on to an open plan state of the art kitchen area, with the main bedroom with ensuite and the shower room to the left, and a study area to the right, leading also to a second bedroom and huge living and dining area with open fire. This sofa also opens out to become a double bed. There is a large flat screen television with DVD player and surround sound, plus UK satellite television, and two sets of double glass doors opening onto a private terrace with stunning view of Lake Garda. The dining area, towards the back of the living room, provides seating for six people and a large dining table, complete with chandelier and candlesticks.

Leading off the kitchen is a laundry room, with a washing machine and plenty of room for drying clothes.

The large terrace provides spectacular views of the swimming pool and lake.


The main bedroom has two bedside tables with lamps, a huge wardrobe and looks out over the garden to the front of the property.

The second bedroom is a single, with two bunks. This room is ideal for a single adult or two older children (over 12 only, please).Air-conditioning is not needed.

The swimming pool is open from June to the end of September.

The apartment comprises 2 bedrooms in total; 1 double, 1 single and 1 cots, 1 of the bedrooms with en-suite facilities. The property also has 1 double sofa bed located in the Living room 1 double bunk bed located in the In the single bedroom. This gives room for up to 6 people. Bed linen and towels are provided for your use.

The apartment has 2 bathrooms and 2 WCs for your party's use. Central heating keeps you snug and warm.

The apartment has television dvd, satellite/cable. The music system will play cassettes, cds.

There is room for 6 in the living room and 6 in the dining room. The open fire can be used to create a comfortable atmosphere. To prepare food you will find a cooker, an oven, a microwave, a fridge, a freezer, a kettle, a toaster. You will also find a dish washer, a washing machine, an iron and ironing board. The owner has also provided cutlery, crockery, glassware, cooking utensils.

The apartment is in a very quiet area. It has access to a shared swimming pool, a south facing balcony, panoramic views, interesting views, a barbeque. If you are driving there is private parking with the outside areas of the house having external lighting.

The apartment is right beside swimming, walking, historic sites.

Close to the apartment you will find a beach, sailing, water skiing, boat hire, fishing, climbing, cycling, mountain biking, horse riding, golf, tennis, scuba diving, a museum, a theatre/cinema, shopping areas, a restaurant, a food shop.

Within easy reach of the apartment you will find wind surfing, skiing/snowboarding, a zoo, a themepark.

Natalie says: "This is a wonderful property that did not disappoint. It is spacious, airy, comfy and boasts wonderful views of Lake Garda and the town of Salo. It is well maintained and while there were a few hiccups on arrival the owners acted quickly to put things right. The kitchen is so well appointed and designed that we chose to cook for ourselves more often than wed planned! The communal pool area works very well despite the number of apartments in the Villa. The location, which is several kilometers up a very steep and windy road, is both an added attraction and a drawback! It is in a quiet location with great views and it is cooler than down at the Lake. However, it is not within walking distance of local amenities and the drive to and from Salo takes 20 minutes, great concentration and a car and driver worthy of the challenge!"
