Argyll & Bute cottage rental details
MULLARD DUBH IS BEAUTIFUL, MODERN, SOPHISTICATED FAMILY HOME
MULLACH DUBH (pronounced Doo!) is our superb modern spacious cottage, located in the prestigious beautiful tiny Marina village of Craobh Haven (pronounced Croov!), 20 miles south of Oban. The setting is arguably in Argyll’s most spectacular scenery, with stunning views of sea lochs, inner Hebridean islands, amazing sunsets, wildlife and views, offering the very best location for a perfect holiday. We have Scottish Tourist Board Four Star Quality Standards.
MULLACH DUBH:
Our beautiful new family home has been lovingly and proudly totally redecorated, refurnished and re-carpeted to meet the highest sophisticated modern standards., It has 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and sleeps 6 people. It has full heating in all rooms.
The open plan living area is spacious, clean, warm and bright throughout – with sun pouring in from the large windows to the front and back, giving views to our namesake, Mullach Dubh, the bracken and heather “tweed” tapestry hillside behind.
The furniture - a three seater sofa, two seater sofa bed, large armchair and footstool are all brand new, exceptionally comfortable and are decked with cushions and cosy throws. There is an open log fire with full log and coal baskets, a TV with Freeview, DVD and video player and a separate stereo system with CD and radio. There is a telephone with chargeable calls. We have used stunning examples of local artists’ and craftspeople’s work to complete the finishing touches of our beautiful and sophisticated home.
The brand new solid wood dining table can be opened out at both ends to allow for 6 spacious places and the chairs have well padded cushions for maximum comfort.
The kitchen is newly fitted out too with new white goods and worktops. As we are very keen cooks we have ensured that it is fully equipped to suit every cook’s needs, with quality cookware and brand new white china, cutlery and glasses. Our store cupboards are well stocked with useful provisions.
Upstairs we have a double bedroom with en-suite shower room. The second bedroom has double or twin beds and there is a large family bathroom with bath and hand-shower. All our bedlinen is new and exceptionally good 100% cotton and we provide plenty of fluffy towels. Our new wardrobes and cupboards have loads of storage space and there are masses of hangers. Photographs of local views and scenery cover the walls.
The south facing garden catches the sun all day long and is a real sun trap, and we have a good supply of garden furniture, sun loungers and BBQ. The terrace offers spectacular views to Mullach Dubh, with its ever changing light.
CRAOBH HAVEN - SOPHISTICATED TINY VILLAGE AND MARINA
Craobh Haven is a tiny village with a 300 berth marina on sea Loch Shuna, a mile off the main A816 midway between Oban and Lochgilphead. The village and marina were purpose built some 25 years ago, created by ingeniously joining together a few small islands with a causeway, creating a stunning walk with frequent sightings of seals, sea brids, otters and eagles. There are wonderful views to the many inner Hebridean islands and the infamous Corrie Vreckan whirlpool.
The Lords of the Isles pub has been newly taken over and refurbished and serves excellent food. Its windows and terrace offer spectacular views across the marinas many boatds, out to the sea and islands beyond. The village shop is well stocked and the wonderful gift shop/art gallery, The Giving Tree, has just had a successful exhibition of professional local work.
The local Lunga Estate riding stable offer natural horsemanship from beautiful spotted Appaloosa horses and they are open year round for lessons and trecks.
Craobh Haven is a perfect spot to enjoy Argyll’s spectacular west coast scenery, it is bursting with wonderful views, sunsets, scenery, boats trips, fishing, wildlife, walking and even just relaxing and enjoying the peace and tranquillity.
