Monte Francisco is a traditional Portuguese village with cafes/restaurants 2 mini-markets and friendly people. There is also free internet access at the Campesino in the village

The village is surrounded by a natural landscape and a 5 minute walk to the Reserva Natural of Castro Marim, over 2000 hectares on the banks of the Guadiana River. A haven for birdlife especially migrant waders. There is an Information centre where you can find out about the flora & fauna, salt making in the area.

 

The 2 Golf Courses within 5 mins drive from the villa are Castro Marim, & Quinta do Vale. The others are Quinta da Ria, Quinta de Cima & Monte Rei within 15 mins drive of the village and Costa Esuri in Spain.

2 kms away is Castro Marim steeped in history with the castle & churches overlooking the river to Spain. They hold a Medievel Festival in August a fantastic experience. Tavira about 20 mins drive is well worth a visit.
 

Vila Real de Santo Antonio 7km is situated at the mouth of the river where it meets the Atlantic ocean. River and Beach ideal if you like fishing. There are walks through the pine forest or along the beautiful sandy beach between V.R.S.A. and Monte Gordo and PraiaVerde. The sea is perfect for swimming with its calm waters. Boat trips up the river or over to Ayamonte (Spain) from the Marina.
There are many shops in VRSA or in Ayamonte.
Monte Gordo & Ayamonte have many bars, restaurants, clubs & a casino with nightly shows for those who enjoy the nightlife.
Easy access to the A22 which covers all the Algarve. For a great day out there are many Water & Theme Parks. Zoomarine (swim with dolphins) all within an hour and a half drive. Alternatively there are coach pick up points. Or explore villages nestled in the rolling hills & reservoirs. Detailed maps available of circular walks 7 - 15 km
 

The villa comprises 3 bedrooms in total; 2 double, 1 twin and 1 cots, 2 of the bedrooms with en-suite facilities. The property also has 2 double sofa beds located in the Living Room and Study. This gives room for up to 6 people. Bed linen and towels are provided for your use.

The villa has 1 bathrooms and 3 WCs for your party's use.

The villa has television video, dvd, satellite/cable. The music system will play cassettes, cds, radio.

There is room for 6 in the living room and 6 in the dining room. To prepare food you will find a cooker, an oven, a microwave, a fridge, a freezer, a kettle, a toaster. You will also find a dish washer, a washing machine, an iron and ironing board. The owner has also provided cutlery, crockery, glassware, cooking utensils.

The location of the villa means you will hear some noise, though not excessive. It has a private south facing swimming pool, a south facing garden, a south facing patio area, a barbeque. If you are driving there is private parking with the outside areas of the house having external lighting.

Merle says: "We have stayed in this property and we really liked it. It is light and spacious and the swimming pool is a real bonus. The property also has en suites and a main bathroom, which is good if you have a family. All the rooms are a good size and we found it to be very comfortable.There is a good sized kitchen too with all mod cons and eating out on the patio is really pleasant in the evenings. It's in a great location because it is not too far from the lovely sandy beaches and the shops and it's only a 90 minute drive along the motorway to Seville, which a really interesting place and well worth a visit. The Eastern Algarve side still retains a 'real Portuguese feel' and we intend to go back there soon and would highly recommend a stay in this villa."
