I am sure you will thoroughly enjoy your stay here in the area of central Athens known as Panormou-Abelokipoi. Although the Metro (subway) can get you to Syndagma Square in the Historical Center in less than 7 minutes (just 4 stops away) why not walk? ... Syndagma Square is only 1300 meters away (thats a little less than a mile .. actually its 0.8 of a mile!)

As I mentioned, the Metro (subway... which is only a few blocks from the apartment) will get you anywhere you need to go in ease... however, we know what its like to be weary, tired and jet-lagged after a trip so as a complimentary amenity, well send over our friend Spiro, the taxi driver, to pick you up from Athens International Airport or the Port of Pireus to pick you up and drive you straight to the apartment.

Now you are probably wondering... where and what exactly IS this Panormou area? The Panormou residential district in Ambelokipi actually holds the charm of a typical Athenian neighbourhood, where you can experience the real Athenian culture. In older times it used to have vine gardens, thats why the name Ambelokipi (ambeli in Greek means vine). On sight are traditional outdoor cafes and restaurants, night clubs and pubs, Greek style tavernas featuring delicious Greek cuisine and the famous Greek souvlaki, churches, bus stops, metro station (airport line), the famous Athens Music Hall, the American Embassy, open air street flea and fruit market (every Saturday morning)- and other stores and shops typical of the Athens center environment. Big and handy supermarkets are also nearby within walking distance, as well as traditional bakeries, butcher shops, pastry shops etc. Popular home delivery services are also available.

Along with your reservation with our apartment we offer FREE GREEK LESSONS from Hellena, a professor of the English Language at the University of Athens (as well as the owner of this apartment) !!! This way youll learn the basics of this beautiful and ancient language and will coherently know how to ask for your glass of Ouzo at a tavern, for the bill at a restaurant and one of the most important questions... "Wheres the bathroom?" ... youll leave Greece almost a native! (The free Greek lessons which Hellena offers to her guests are arranged upon your arrival and subject to her availabilty)

On each floor of this apartment building is only one apartment, therefore ensuring your complete privacy. There is a marble tiled elevator available for your use. The Historical Center is just a short 1300 meters (1.3 kilometer or .81 miles) from the apartment or 4 Metro Stops away (a 7 minute ride). Don't forget, that this apartment is conveniently located withing about 3 minutes walking distance from the Panormou Metro Station. This is highly important, in a city famous for its traffic jams, its best to use the Metro, Train and Tram systems and avoid the buses and trollies.

The apartment is very clean, brand new and has everything one needs.. and more... to make for an excellent vacation rental. It is located next Panormou Square where the metro station is. The Historical Center was just a 5 minute ride away. The area the apartment is located at is quite upscale and has a myriad of shops, restaurants and cafes to choose from. If you want to experience not only Historic Athens... but also the "real Athenian Life" then this is place to stay. Dont miss the outdoor Farmers Market on Fridays... very graphic... and a lot of fun!"
