Imagine yourself sipping a cold drink down in beautiful, sunny, Southern Italy, in an area literally steeped in ancient history. You are less than ten minutes from beautiful open beaches on the Ionian sea, less than an hour from mountains in a National Park where inexpensive skiing is available during the winter, and only five minutes drive from shopping in the nearest hilltop town. This is a place that can only really be described as a hidden gem, within an undiscovered area.  

Converted 18th Century Farmhouse with A/C & plunge pool, sleeps 4, ideal for families. Easily reached via Stanstead, Gatwick and Heathrow via BA, Alitalia, Ryanair & other airlines from across Europe. The house is very relaxing, and peaceful. Included are a plunge pool, BBQ and air conditioning. 

There are many attractions locally including miles of empty beaches, water parks, mountains, and the whole area is steeped in ancient history including the Unesco World Heritage site at Matera only 30 minutes drive away, where people lived more than 5000 years BC. 

The house is very secluded, and very quiet and peaceful. In winter skiing is available just over an hour away, and it is possible to sit on a sunny beach in the morning and ski just after lunch. Ski hire is 10.00 Euros per day, and a lift pass is 15.00 for the entire day. The mountain setting is beautiful and almost empty with queues of only one or two people..

The farm house comprises 1 bedrooms in total; 1 double and 2 cots, 1 of the bedrooms with en-suite facilities. The property also has 2 double sofa beds located in the in the lounge (as occasional spares) 1 double bunk bed located in the in the main bedroom, but can be put in the lounge if required, or in a separate log cabin at additional cost. This gives room for up to 5 people. Bed linen and towels are provided for your use.

The farm house has 1 bathrooms and 1 WCs for your party's use. Air-conditioning keeps the farm house cool.

The farm house has television video, dvd. The music system will play cassettes, cds, radio.

There is room for 6 in the living room and 4 in the dining room. The open fire can be used to create a comfortable atmosphere. To prepare food you will find a cooker, an oven, a fridge, a freezer, a kettle. You will also find a washing machine, a clothes drier, an iron and ironing board. The owner has also provided cutlery, crockery, glassware, cooking utensils.

This is a non-smoking farm house

The farm house is in a very quiet area. It has a private south facing swimming pool, a south facing garden, a south facing patio area, panoramic views, a barbeque. If you are driving there is private parking with the outside areas of the house having external lighting.

The farm house is right beside swimming, walking.

Close to the farm house you will find a beach, fishing, cycling, mountain biking, golf, tennis, a sports center, historic sites, a theatre/cinema, shopping areas, a restaurant, a food shop.

Within easy reach of the farm house you will find climbing, skiing/snowboarding, a museum, a themepark.

National Park, empty beaches, mountains, lovely foond and wine, nice people.

Unesco World Heritage site at Matera, many, many other historical sights locally. Much to see.

The property was excellent and had lots of little extras that made the holiday , ie a welcome basket, maps, books,tea, coffee, sun lounger and the owner gave us as alot of information about the local area and places to visit, which was a great help. Every final detail made to make our holiday memorable. The beaches are beautiful., the scenery stunning and there are many little villages for exploring The property was set in a quiet area surrounded by olive trees and made for a very chill out time. The hip pool (a brilliant addition) was a well needed extra. I would certainly recommend anyone to go who needs to either just relax and chill out, or wants to spend time exploring the beautiful countryside and towns. PS: Take the option up of the sat nav which is provided at a fraction of the cost of the Car Hire Companies. Car is essential."
