Stignano mare is a small exclusive development surrounded by olive and orange groves, close to the beach with a traditional Italian bakery on site, a fruit and veg stall a few metres down the road and other shops close by. There is a Pizzeria Restaurant just 200m away and the busier town of Caulonia just a short drive. Stignano Mare is surrounded by beautiful mountains where you will find many quaint traditional hill towns packed with history. 

Roccella Ionica, just a short drive away is a summer resort with a medieval part on the hill. It’s economy is also based on the production of olive-oil and fishing activities. It’s origin dates back to Magna Grecia Colonies.
The small, beautiful town of Stilo is just a short drive from Stignano. The Cattolica, an exquisite, well preserved small Byzantine shrine, overlooks the town. Its plan is square with an inscribed cross surmounted by five cupolas on circular drums. It resembles churches to be found in Anatolia, Georgia and Armenia and also the church of San Marco at nearby Rosano

The town of Gerace is approximately a 40 minute drive from Stignao Mare and has impressive cobblestone streets in addition to a 17th century church.
The beautiful town of Tropea is just an hours drive with its emerald green water, fine sandy beaches and cliffy bays. Majestically situated above the sea, this history-charged town, which – according to legend – was founded by the ancient hero Hercules, you will find over 50 noblemen’s palaces and 17 churches. The towns on the cape are rich in history, legend, tradition and folklore.
 

Calabria is the beautiful and unspoilt Southern region of Italy - one of Italys best kept secrets. The wonderfully clear turquoise Thyrrenian sea is calm and warm, with numerous quiet beaches presenting plentiful opportunities for sunbathing and swimming.
The local residents are friendly and welcoming, allowing you to relax and enjoy your holiday in the sun.

Please note that the communal swimming pool is not yet completed and there is some building work continuing on the site. Although this is unlikely to spoil your stay, the rental prices reflect the present situation on the development.
