We were drawn to Bol because we love the sea and it is a perfect place to take a beach vacation and go scuba-diving, swimming, boating, water kayaking and windsurfing. We love nature and appreciate the pristine nature of the Croatian countryside but wanted to be at the hub of things and Bol is the activities centre for Brac. Here you can play tennis, go climbing, cycling, walking, flying from Brac Airport or just laze on the Golden Horn [Zlatni Rat], an idyllic beach a short distance away. Once the big yachts come into the harbour in July/August the town gets really quite lively and revelry can continue into the early hours. However, the house is equipped with its original windows [now double glazed] together with secondary double glazing to ensure that guests can sleep with minimal disturbance.

We fell in love with Harbour House because, although right by the sea (there are panoramic views from every room, and especially from the large terrace) the house feels safe, solid and friendly. Built of Brac stone like the White House in Washington, it is a famous landmark and often appears in photos of Bol. Its simplicity is appealing because, although not especially large (108sq.m.) its construction makes it feel spacious and airy. If you love the sea you will love Harbour House.

As well as the local market, supermarket, pharmacy, post office and bakery, for those interested in sea sports the house is close by the local diving centre. The Tourist Office is close by, and all around are little bars, restaurants, shops selling jewellery, swimwear and hand-made artefacts. Bol is close to the most famous beach in Croatia, the Golden Horn beach. This is approx. 1 km away from the house [although the small local beach is only 30 metres away] and can be reached by a gentle stroll. Boats also sail the few minutes back and forth to the beach or you can take the little road train that chugs back and forth to the beach all day long.

The Monastery Beach is 5 minutes away along the coastal path, and here you will find a sweet little restaurant on a small promontary immediately overlooking the beach. This provides delicious food, and is located within an old fishermans house. The Monastery, itself, is worth visiting for its fine collection of artworks.
 

Harbour House has been created as a holiday house for its English owners so you can walk straight into it and feel at home. It is simple but elegant, with rugs and lovely pictures on the walls. It has a large kitchen, dishwasher, washing machine, full-sized cooker and is well equipped with linen, china and cooking equipment. A lovely, comfortable, sofabed in the terrace sitting room becomes full-sized single beds (one pulls out from beneath the other). Cot & childs bed also available: An enclosed garden with white marble patio and a mandarin orchard make the garden ideal for children.

The villa comprises 2 bedrooms in total; 2 double and 1 cots. The property also has 1 single sofa bed located in the In one of the double bedrooms, 1 double sofa bed located in the in the terrace sitting room. This gives room for up to 7 people. Bed linen and towels are provided for your use.

The villa has 1 bathrooms and 1 WCs for your party's use. Air-conditioning keeps the villa cool.

The villa has television satellite/cable. The music system will play radio.

There is room for 6 in the living room and 6 in the dining room. To prepare food you will find a cooker, an oven, a fridge, a freezer, a kettle, a toaster. You will also find a dish washer, a washing machine, a clothes drier, an iron and ironing board. The owner has also provided cutlery, crockery, glassware, cooking utensils.

Smoking is allowed in this villa.

The location of the villa means you will hear some noise, though not excessive. It has a west facing garden, a west facing patio area, sea views, panoramic views, interesting views, a barbeque.

The villa is right beside a beach, swimming, sailing, water skiing, boat hire, wind surfing, fishing, walking, a sports center, scuba diving, shopping areas, a restaurant, a food shop.

Close to the villa you will find climbing, flying, cycling, mountain biking, tennis, historic sites, a museum, a theatre/cinema.

Within easy reach of the villa you will find horse riding.

Kiteboarding in Bol. Nearby Zlatni Rat Beach. Monastery Beach. Air tours.

Lively Supetar, Milna, Postira, Splitska, Sutivan, (little fishing villages) are within easy reach.

Phil says: "The house is beautifully situated and its views are simply breathtaking. It is hard to imagine a more picturesque setting, add the fact that a range of bars and restaurants are virtually on its doorstep and the location is even more impressive. Hours can be spent chilling out on its balcony. The only down sides were calling an old transistor radio a 'music player', no kettle and bizarre arrangements for collecting and depositing the keys. Apart from those points Harbour House is perfect - Bol and the island of Brac equally so. "
