Albergaria do Penedo is situated on the sea promenade on the coast and near the Swimming Pools Complex of Porto da Cruz, a 15 minutes drive from the international airport of Funchal, the Santo da Serra Golf Club and the Madeira Theme Park in Santana. Porto da Cruz, located on the northeast coast of the island, now has a modern, state-of-the-art bathing complex. Praia da Lagoa, as this beach is called, was inaugurated in June 2004 and the work done consisted of improving the existing black-sand beach by building new sea accesses, a sundeck, restaurant area, WC and changing rooms.

The small hotel/guest house has a small breakfast restaurant with a terrace directly at the quiet promenade.
