| "When we were on our way to the property we found the directions a little hard to follow but we were very pleased with a friendly property manager who stayed on the phone and helped us find our way. The property was very well aquiped, everything we needed was there. It was a little bit farther from the beach than i expected. Overall we had a great stay at the property and i would go there again. We did need a car while there."

| "The villa was a perfect size for the 6 of us and it was in a location we knew. Light clean and comfortable in a lovely quiet street. Plenty of bars, restaurants and supermarkets within a 10-20 minute walk away, great bus service just at the top of the street as well, it’s 1.10 euro per person no matter where you get on or off.
The area is hilly which we knew and don’t mind, but families with small children may struggle to get about. The villa did lack a few items – kitchen gadgets, wine glasses, only 5 outdoor chairs and 3 sun loungers, no sun umbrella which was much needed (we bought one and left for others to use). We also left swim foams and snorkels as there is a great cove just down the road ideal for snorkelling. All in all we had a great holiday and I would consider going back.
For anyone not hiring a car I would recommend you book Geoff the villa manager to collect you to and from the airport.

"Very happy and had a excellent time would highly recommend a visit. The local bus routes very good as is the locals. The accommodation is clean and very up together. The pool is a matter of 20 seconds walk which again very welcoming. If you’re thinking of taking your family here, I highly recommend the experience. When we go back to Spain we would as a family would book again..."

"a very well maintained property in a very quiet area of Torrevieja. Supermarkets are as described. the smaller of the two within easy walking distance ( 5 minutes both ways) the larger one(mercadonna) 10 - 15 minutes downhill 25 - 35 minutes back up the hill, depending on how many bags you are carrying!! Pubs and restuarants 15 minutes walk( the Chinese and OBriens probably the best value for money. We had excellent service from the property manager(he did an airport run for us both ways, cheaper than a taxi!!) Ben, the owner was very accommodating, inthat we had an evening flight and he gave us use of the villa right up until it was time to go to the airport, it was a relief not to have a set time to vacate the villa as we had our grandchildren with us....thanks Ben. all in it was a great deal and we would definately recommend it. We will be back.

"The villa is very nice and met all of our expectations. The villa is located on a private road and can be difficult to find on arrival, I would recommend improved instructions for directions especially as few of the local roads have clear name signs.
This villa is maintained very well. It was spotlessly clean on arrival and includes all of the necessary amenities to give you a great holiday. The management company were on hand to show us around and the welcome pack with the opportunity for a cup of tea was a lifesaver after the trip from the UK.
There are two patio areas, one at ground floor level and one at first floor level. There could be more outdoor furniture to serve these two large areas.
The family loved the pool, which is close to the villa and safe for children. The beaches near to the villa are first class and it is possible with care to find less populated areas should you so wish.
This is a good villa for those with or with families but we would recommend hiring a car to get the best from your holiday.

"The property was large, comfortable and reasonably well equiped.However the villa had not been cleaned prior to our arrival and we had to wait 24 hours for towels and half the bedding.We had ants in one of the rooms due to crumbs under the bed which had not been cleaned.
The swimming pool was as described but beware there are no sun loungers so you have to lay on a towel on hard concrete.
The directions to the villa are wholy inadequate and need to be renewed.

The directions to the villa is a result of a variety of iterations from customers and friends alike who have visited from Alicante and Murcia airports. Naturally, with even the best directions (e.g. on A -Z or Sat Nav) we expect that there occasions when people will still get a little confused and as such, our property manager is always very helpful when contacted, to re-direct guests accordingly
With regards to ants and beddings - The property manager has assured me that there was no problem. That said, I always like to put myself in the position of the customer. The issue therefore is this, If I were a customer and I arrived at a villa which I had chosen because of the great reviews received, and noticed such grave problems from day one, would I:
(a) Contact the villa owner AND property manager immediately to rectify the situation (as directed in the Villarenters guidelines ), and then graciously sit back, relax and enjoy the rest of my hard earned holidays in the sun OR
(b) Wait 3 weeks after my departure from the property to post a scathing review on the net?
My choice is definitely (a) and I would like to think that all future guests to the Casa Familia would be like minded

"Like all previous visitors we have had a most enjoyable break in this property. It really felt like home from home and the air conditioning was most welcome when the temperatures soared.
A car is a definite requirement to get the most from this location, as the walk up from the beach in the heat at the end of a day is probably more than most would comfortably manage.
We visited both the nearby Water Park Aquapolis & Aqualandia in Benidorm and these both had more than enough to keep our teenagers happy. There are plenty of restauraunts within a short drive and the town of Torrevieja is a 5 minute drive with it's harbour, boat trips & market.
All in all we would recommend this property to visitors looking for a comfortable villa with beach & pool facilities on hand."

"As any parent knows travelling with two young children can be a fraught with difficulties so it was important to us that the accommodation met all our needs. I was a bit apprehensive at first about booking from the internet but was thrilled when we arrived and the villa far exceeded its write up. It was a little difficult to find but Sam & John were more than welcoming and helpful (they met us part way!) The villa itself was immaculate, as well-equipped as our own home (it really was like travelling home from home) and in a quiet location but not too far from all amenities & beach. The welcome pack was a lovely additional touch & the owner's file of instructions were very helpful. I would highly recommend hiring a car to get a bit further afield away from the main tourist areas but the local supermarket is excellent and barely a 5 minute walk, the beach was clean & local and it was a bit cold (we went in november!) to try the pool! Highly recommend Elche, other beaches towards Cartagena, the Rio Safari & local markets.
We had a wonderful time & our children loved it. Thank you very much!"

"When we booked the villa we were delighted with the correspondance we recieved from the owners. We arrived early morning and the villa was lovely, and just how it is described on this web site though the taxi driver did have problems finding it. We hired a car and it was worth every penny as we could get about alot more though there is a good reliable bus route if you do not drive. We went to a really good safari park and our daughter loved the clean well kept pool, which is just by the villa. There is alot of space in the villa and the neighbours are all friendly. As a family we really enjoyed this holiday and will go back hopefully next year as we did not see all we wanted to as we ran out of time. Thankyou to the owners once again."

| "Very spacious and well maintained villa with a great shared pool. You do need a car to get around the main attractions, but as long as do hire one the location of the house is great. Only 5 or 6 resturants/bars in main location, but a 10 minute drive takes you to Torrevieja which has many, or out to a newly build shopping centre with sevral new resturants. Fantastic go-karting about 15 minutes drive on N332.
We stayed for 2 weeks with 2 boys under 10.......they really loved the pool and La Mata beach (5 minutes drive away), and the air-con. in every room meant a very pleasant house to return to.
Some great locals/ex-pats who just love to have a chat at the pool, very safe a friendly location.
Great value for money, and realy nice villa."

| "We had a wonderful two week stay in this lovely villa which has everything you should need for a holiday. The villa was in a quiet location but a 5- 10 min walk took you to everything you need and 5 mins in the car (if you have one) takes you to some superb shopping centres , waterpark and funfair. I would highly recommend this villa for a fab holiday and would definately go back"

"The distances to La Mata beach says 5-10 mins in fact is 25 mins which is a lot when you have a 2 and 3 year old one walking in the heat. There is now no tennis court although pool excellent for little ones as is the villa although some plastic cups etc would have calmed my nerves. Only 4 plastic chair in villa for six dining chair not good to sit on all evening. There is not the channels on TV believe me I was going to watch Wimbledon. Only 3 sunbeds on roof (more fighting) This villa would be Ok if you had a car if we had known this we would have rented one from Alicanti and saved the taxi fare. As it was we paid taxi and then rented a car."

To address the specific concerns raised:
1. Distance to La Mata Beach - We have now amended the information on our web site to show a differentiation in the time that it takes for Adults and Kids to walk to the beach
2. Tennis Court - There is no mention of a tennis court on the website. There is however mention of a Sports centre which is 10 minutes drive away
3. Plastic Cups and Chairs - Great Idea!. We will aim to implement this suggestion on our arrival to the villa by end of Aug 2006.
4. TV Channels - We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused. As a result of your feedback, we are now in the process of changing our Spanish suppliers. We aim to have the new Suppliers in place by 16/07/06, who will guarantee uninterrupted supply of the channels as contracted.

"The Mullan family 2 Adults & 4 Children 4-12Yrs stayed for a week at the villa. Easily got to from the Alicanti airport. 2 taxis needed 45 euros each. 4 to a cab.The villa was very clean and well equiped. Management were friendly but we could have done with a bit more information on buses attractions and local amenities. Written directions left in the villa for the shops was not correct. We only had a week so by the time we sussed most things out it was time to go home.
Macraddona super market is ten minute walk in the morning and has virtually every thing you could need in the way of food. Correfour (large shopping centre and entertainment centre) is not within walking distance but 6 euros in a taxi will get you there. Best go to a local bar and order a taxi as there is no street name at the villa to give them.Good last night treat. We enjoyed our stay and the villa is very comfortable."

We plan to visit the villa by end of Aug 2006 when we will aim to provide detailed information on local attractions and amend written instructions in the villa. In the meantime, our local villa management team will continue to do their best to advise all guests on key amenities etc during their arrival orientation and throughout their stay as required.

"Loved it, Loved it, Loved it!
The Villa is beautiful. The Location is central to everything. We didn't need a car (though we had one)to get around. The Beach, Reastaurants and Bars were 10 mins walk, shops and supermarkets were 15 minutes away and the food was was lovely and very reasonable.
The kids loved the local Aqua Park - 15 minutes away (and also spotted the nearby Macdonalds!!!!). The pool also kept the kids busy - which I loved - and they made lots of friends
The heat outside was 39 C but the villa was extremelly cool - thanks to the airconditioners in very room
Absolutely brilliant holiday - Marion, Glassgow"

| "Nice place - well run - very quiet area - easy access for shops (& takeaways) all within 10 min walk. Rocky beach is 10 min walk - very good, safe for kids, sandy beach of La mata is 25 min walk. Pool is great and just 30 secs walk away.
Easy access from airport - 25 mins - if you dont get lost as we did !!! Just read the directions better than us.All you need at the villa - Phil - local manager is great - very helpful.15 mins drive/40 min walk from centre of Torrevieja - which has all you could want- hundreds of restaurants/bars etc - average price for meal for 5 - 65euros.. Massive new shop centre Habaneros 20 mins away which my daughters loved and my bank mgr hated!! Altogether a good clean well fitted, quiet place with easy access anywhere.Michael B."

"We’ve thoroughly enjoyed spending time in this comfortable, fully furnished and relaxing villa. Although set in a quite multi-cultural community, it has easy access to a superb beach, shops, restaurants, bars, sports centre and tennis courts without the added expense of renting a car. Inside the villa is tastefully decorated for permanent as supposed to rental living. The neighbours are extremely friendly and helpful – with a typical Spanish “Maniana” attitude – even the English amongst them! The nearby pool was the hub of local attivities
All in all Casa Familia does exactly what it says on the tin - it’s a relaxing home sweet home Family villa
