This is a wow place. Wonderful villa with tons of space, and lovely insides and outsides. Perfect location, quiet and peaceful, but lively seaside resorts just 5 minutes away, lots of bars cafes and tavernas, and sights - meteora was stunning! The kids absolutely loved it and so did we. Its easily one of the best places weve holidayed in."

| "I dont normally write reviews, however good the holiday, but having read the negative review from Peter, am angry at his distortion of facts as this place is very very good. The House is about 2 hours from the airport. If Peter wanted to visit Athens city, he should have checked - he would have found out it is much longer. Athens traffic is a well known nightmare and AThens is not mentioned as an ideal place to excursion too - on the contrary, the House is ideal for pelion, Volos, meteora, delphi as ithe website says. ! Our host was most generous, courteous and discreet. Our laundry was fine, the staff cleaning the place and gardens polite and hard working, the place was immaculate on arrival, and kept that way through our stay. We travelled as a group of 9 and we all agree - it was a great place, very different from your usual boring villa, and very tastefully done. Perhaps Mr Peter doesnt have these tastes."

| "I have visited House in Greece twice now in 4 years last time Aug 08 and thought it to be a fantastic place. To be honest this is why I am writing this review as recently came across a negative review which I thought was unfair - I do understand that everyone has different opinions but I wanted to air mine!
The villa is situated in a lovely village called Achinos in mainland Greece and although not centrally located to popular attractions they are in easy reach. Athens is approximately 2 hours away (all main and easy roads) which we did spend the day there doing the typical tourist attractions such as Acropolis.
There are other various activities that you can do and the owner is able to book all these for you - we did do the private sailing day and this was amazing having a whole beach to yourself and then a BBQ.
The owner was very accomodating and as the villa is self catering he does ask whether you would like some basics brought in so when you arrive you can eat or have a cup of tea. (This is in addition to the cost of staying).
There is an option to have a Chef night during your stay and this is great traditional Greek food with Greek dancing too which is great fun!
The Villa itself is beautiful and clean with plenty of room for a large party and to still get quite time should you need it! The rooms are all good size with wardrobes, drawers etc. Beautiful artwork on walls and traditionally furnished. The gardens are beautiful with so many different colourful flowers and fruit its certainly kept my grandchildren occupied. The villa staff - cleaner and gardener are very friendly and willing to help (good opportunity to practice your greek!)
The pool area has room for loads of sunbeds we had a party of 10 and we all fitted around the pool - and should you need shade (which I did!) there is enough room to move your sunbed under the canape.
We ate out a couple of time in Raches which is about 5-10 mins away by car which has lovely seafront restaurants they are open during the day but personally i think its best to go at night as there is a great atmosphere.
Overall the holiday was fantastic hence us being back there twice - if your looking for a holiday where you can chill out and not worry about the outside world then this really is the place and its not too much of a trek if you want to do the tourist attractions.

| " The overwhelming feeling following this holiday was one of disappointment
and of having been misled by the owners own website for the villa. I had selected the House in Greece because it offered a private pool, a large garden and the requisite number of bedrooms. More importantly, it was near beaches and yet only 90 minutes from Athens and all the cultural sights we wished to visit. - Or so the site claimed. As we followed the directions from the airport it gradually dawned on us that the journey time would be far in excess of an hour and a half. In fact breaking the speed limits by some considerable margin, we made the journey in near three hours. On our return home, we checked with Michelin. They estimate the journey time from the airport to the nearest village to be 2hrs 50mins!!
To get to Athens central takes considerably longer we found it added another hour from the house. Thus, our plan to mix sunny relaxation with trips to see all that Athens has to offer, went out the window. Who wants to regularly spend eight hours in a car? Needless to say, this got the holiday off to a bad start. It was to get worse.
We had heard about the laundry service but hadnt realised there was no washing machine to use (why?) quite important with a young child. Often the laundry service (we were compelled to use) returned clothes too damp to wear. We also thought the standard of cleaning both inside and out were not up to standard and we felt the bedrooms resembled prison cells! Despite the brochure claiming otherwise, it proved impossible to increase the frequency of laundry change (sans washing machine!). Other irritants, we didnt like the owner asking for the rental to be paid in cash and we would have preferred if he had not come down to socialise so often. And we took exception to the maid and her boyfriend entering the premises unannounced. On the positive side, I liked the airy feel of the common areas, the design around the pool is good and when the trees in the garden grow to size then I imagine it will be very pleasant. But it is just too far! We are seeking compensation. "

"This was a great property. It's a very beautiful villa in stunning surroundings with just acres and acres of space both inside and out. Its the first rental we've done where the property is far better than the website suggests as its sheer size and location, spaciousness and tranquility don't do pictures justice.
The owners friendliness and helpfulness, from the welcoming drink and tour, to advice on where to go and what to do, was a joy.
It's apparently somewhere where Athenians weekend in the area, so benefits from plenty of amazing tavernas and restaurants, beaches, and generally sophisticated amenities without a touristy feel. The extras - the Chef Night in the Villa, the boat trip chasing seals and diving, the live bouzouki music, the in villa bar service, breakfast...just all brilliant!"
