"We stayed at apartment Catcus 220. The Patara Prince Resort was fantastic and far exceeded our expectations. Kalkan town was lovely and the surrounding area breathtaking. The resort had everything we needed and more. The apartment description were accurate and its facilites were adequate for what we needed. The apartment was clean and tidy and in our opinion great value for money. The front garden and patio was wonderfully seculded. We have already recommended the apartment at PPR to friends and family and enjoyed our stay so much we are considering returning next year."

"An absolutely stunning place to go on holiday, we had the best holiday we have ever had. The views are breathtaking and the staff cannot do enough for you. The apartment was ideal. There are numerous steps, but we always walked down and caught the free shuttlebus back. We walked into Kalcan which only took about 15 minutes and fab views and got the taxi back. So many places to eat. We had two teenagers and they loved the quietness of Patara Prince by day and the nightlife at Kalkan. It really is the place to go. We would definitely recommend this to anyone. We would love to go back again. We did not want to leave this place and would have been happy staying for much longer than our two weeks. "

"Really lovely place to stay - the resort is beautiful and well-serviced. The apartment was small but well-equipped and exactly as described. We were disappointed with nothing and, overall, our expectations were exceeded. Would definately go back/recommend to a friend."

"Had a very relaxing time-which is what we were looking for. Everything was very well organized and well thought through in the villa and was located for easy access to resort facilities. Closeness to the Market just out of the back gate was a real plus, as was proximity to parking. We have stayed in Kalkan before and this was the better of the two accomodations while being the more economical of the two. The owners are very easy to work with an the resort staff were very attentive. This villa is a great little escape from life in the city. We especially recommend it for couples wanting a romantic getaway. It is a great place to escape. "

"The apartment was exactly as described by the owners and suited our needs exactly. The resort was brilliant, we were well looked after and the town of Kalkan is fantastic. The owners were very helpful and the whole holiday went well. We particularly enjoyed breakfasting on the terrace with the garden before us. We cant wait to go back there."

"The property was very clean and comfortable. It far exceeded our expectations and we would use this apartment and resort again without a second thought. The owners were very helpful with all questions and quick to respond to emails or phone calls. The Patara Prince resort is excellent and inexpensive to drink and eat with free facilities including Wi-Fi."

"We had a brilliant holiday. Brilliant weather. Brilliant pools. Fantastic sea quality. Water sports excellent. Restaurants on the resort and in the town far exceeded our expectations. Great resort, great town. We hired a car and explored the little coves around the coast. The owners have thought of everything in the apartment. We made use of the shuttle bus and the little boat. Excellent! The owners are correct about the resort being steep, but it is really beautiful, with lovely gardens. Plenty of quiet spaces for relaxing. We used the adult pool, also spent time in the sea, which was really excellent. Thanks to the owners, who were really helpful. Many thanks - Bryan and Jenny"

"Tricia

Thank you VERY MUCH for a lovely holiday. We were a little concerned about re-visiting a property and an area, as things change, but we were not disappointed. You were also very helpful with flights and transfers, which is always useful! We will certainly return again. Next time, we hope to holiday with our friends, so would like to rent both apartments together. We like to spend time together during the day, but all like our own space at times, so this seems an ideal solution.

Best regards from Rosemary and Bill and thanks once again.

"This is a review we have just received. The booking was not made via Villarenters as the couple were travelling along the Turkish coast.

John and Patricia

You asked us to review the holiday, so here goes!

First of all, many thanks for renting us your lovely apartment and for being very patient with us. Anyone reading this should know that we have been travelling along the coast for many weeks and it was only by luck that we found the Patara Prince Resort and your apartments.

You were very helpful, especially as it wasn't always easy to communicate via email! We had a lovely holiday - the resort is lovely, as is your apartment. Every need has been catered for. We had a smashing time and will certainly book again.

We have been to Turkey many times, as we explained in our emails, but Kalkan is a brilliant find. Jill found the silver shop in town, which was a disaster for my pocket, but somewhere she intends to re-visit in the near future! The dining is excellent in town and we went out every day exploring the brilliant coastline nearby. The water is amazing, some of the finest we've seen along the coast.

We are back in the UK now, but are planning our next trip already. France first and then who knows?

Best wishes and many thanks from Alan and Jill Somerton

"Apart from a slight mix up with the transfer - we had a great time in Kalkan. It was very hot -mid 30's - but with the a/c, handy resort bus and cooling sea waters ( pool was too warm) we just about coped! Gulet cruise was our highlight of the trip - a must do- but beware drinks prices were very steep on board. Make sure you take google + flippers as even just off the resort beach you can see some fantastic fish. We found prices in Kalkan steep by Turkish standards, but you can haggle to get the price down or things thrown. Its all part of the exeprience - just dont try this at home!"

"Our 1st trip to Turkey and will definately be back. From speaking to others, the costs for Turkey were high compared to other resorts but still represented excellent value for money compared to Greece which we always felt could not be beaten. The accommodation was superb, resort could not have been better and Kalkan must have some of the best restaurants in the Med. We'll be back and would have no hesitation in recommending this resort."

"WE HAD A LOVELY WALKING HOLIDAY AND REALLY ENJOYED OURSELVES. WEATHER JUST PERFECT. GREAT MEALS OUT OF SEASON IN KALKAN."

"What a great place. We were looked after very considerately by the hotel and resort staff and were very reluctant to return home. The apartment is very nicely furnished and the resort has a charm all of its own. The weather was surprisingly warm and we were able to spend a lovely afternoon at Patara Beach. We have never travelled to Turkey before, but we will certainly be returning. Everyone at the resort and in Kalkan were very welcoming and we were not troubled by unwelcome pressurised selling from shopkeepers, something we were concerned about. Kalkan is a lovely resort and we were sorry when some shops started to close for the winter. Something worth mentioning is that when we said we would return the following day, they opened the shop early so that we did not miss our flight. The post office were very helpful when we wished to call the UK and the bank also, when we wanted to change some money. Thank you to the owners, who were a great help to us and provided us with lots of extra information to help make our stay even more pleasant. Another thing worth mentioning is that although we were two females, we felt absolutely safe walking alone anywhere on the resort and throughout Kalkan."

"We booked the apartment at the same time as friends and the owners were really helpful. The apartment, resort and weather were all very good and we had a lovely autumn break. Although the resort is only small, we were surprised that, because of its design, it is easy to miss things. Our advice to visitors is to take a good look around because you can miss a lot, especially the lovely amphitheatre and little bays. We are already thinking about returning. "

". Was it good value for money? Excellent value for money. On a scale of 10, I'd say 10 out of 10 . Did it meet your expectations? I"d say it exceeded my expectations, especially in terms of the value for money. And how beautiful the place is. Its so difficult to judge from the pictures, and most of the time you expect the place to be actually worse than what you see in the brochures. In this case it was exactly the opposite. . Was the description accurate? Yes, absolutely accurate, in fact as I mentioned below I did not expect it to be as fantastic as it turned out to be. . Would you recommend it to a friend? Absolutely and have done already, and to several friends too . Were you adequately looked after during your stay? I was, the hotel stuff was extremely helpful and kind, and much more professional than at any other Turkish resort I've been to. Service was excellent, as was the quality of food at the resort. The proximity of Kalkan was also great. Just overall it was a really good experience - a perfect holiday in a beautiful place. Many thanks! "

"We imagined that it would be a bit crowded with the three of us, but thought that as we were using the apartment simply as a base for walking, we thought that we would ‘just make do’. We were very pleasantly surprised, however, how ‘roomy’ the apartment was and how the owners had thought of several nice touches. The torch, for example, was especially helpful as it goes dark surprisingly suddenly in October – thanks! Apart from breakfast on the terrace, we took all our meals either on route or in Kalkan, which, incidentally, is a fantastic place to eat. We cannot comment on the resort restaurants. As well as being walkers, we are also great ‘foodies’ and we were NOT disappointed with the food on offer both in Kalkan and the surrounding villages. We followed the owner’s recommendations, but also have some of our own, including Belgin’s Kitchen, the Alternatif and Ilban – not sure of the spellings! The shank of lamb! Fantastic! The resort shop, although expensive, is convenient. Next time, we’ll go for longer and order basics from one of the local supermarkets in Kalkan at the start of the holiday. They deliver for free, which is good. After our walks, it was very pleasant to return to the Patara Prince for a swift drink on the apartment terrace before making our way into Kalkan, which, incidentally, is a very pleasant old fishing village. The resort water taxi was great to travel out to Kalkan. Taxis are cheap. The dolumus was frequent and passed the end of the resort road. Brilliant holiday. One downside – not long enough! Many thanks to the owners. "

"Having been a little nervous about the property having only one proper bedroom and quite a small kitchen I have to say that my worries vanished as soon as we arrived. The appartment is delightful and it works really well having two single beds in the bedroom (perfect for the kids) and the double bed in the lounge (which seems bigger in reality than on plan). Although the kitchen is small, somehow the owners have managed to provide everything you really need. We soon got into the swing of treating the appartment like a giant hotel room though rather than thinking of it as somewhere you eat all your meals. (The hotel's breakfast buffet is particularly good!) Overall the appartment is well furnished, beautifully decorated, has bags of closet space and is very comfortable. The only thing I have anything negative to say about is the shower - it is VERY small! In the context of the whole resort this is really a very minor inconvenience. Patara Prince is superb and we will definately be returning."

"Excellent property and location. Resort facilities were good with regular mini-bus to other parts of the complex. A la Carte restaurant location perfect to watch over the bay and Kalkan harbour. All the staff friendly and very helpful. Will definitely be returning! Owners help and support second to none! Thanks for a lovely holiday."

PATARA PRINCE IS A SUPERB RESORT TO BE LOCATED ON WITH ALL THAT YOU REQUIRE NEAR AT HAND. I WOULD DEFINATELY RECOMMEND TO FRIENDS."

"This was our first visit to Turkey. We loved staying in Cactus 223. It was cosy and had a real Turkish-feel. The area was lovely and quiet, but close to the tennis courts, infinity pool, club house, car park and the little shop. We liked the idea that we could call the resort’s shuttle bus from the apartment to take us down to the sea front at Patara and call it again to return home from various points along the way. We went on the water taxi and had a meal and a glass of mint lemonade at the Korsan restaurant. Great. The water taxi is an experience not to be missed! We went for the buffet a couple of times at the resort. It was lovely and good value for money. One thing worth noting for other travellers with Villarenters. We thought it was a good idea that whilst we could load and offload our luggage near to the apartment, cars were not allowed to remain on site and had to be left on the car park. This means that the resort is not cluttered up and looks better for everyone. The resort staff carried our luggage anyway, but at least they did not have far to carry it! The car was always handy, only five minutes walk away. We went to Patara Beach and Saklikent Gorge – great. We also went to the market by the mosque on the first Thursday we arrived. All experiences not to be missed! We would have liked to have seen more places, but were busy sunbathing! We had a really lovely time and will certainly return to Turkey and especially Patara. Hope this has been helpful. We didn’t know what to put because we are new to Villarenters. Thanks for a lovely time Caroline and Kate "

"Many thanks for a lovely holiday. We managed to get a really cheap flight and the apartment was booked within minutes. We would not hesitate in recommending the apartment, the resort and Kalkan. The apartment was clean, decorated to a high standard and the owners had thought of everything to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. The resort and Kalkan are really absolutely lovely. One day we used the resort’s water taxi to travel across the bay and have a meal in one of the lovely restaurants by the harbour. We would like to return next year and have a go at scuba diving. The sea looked so lovely! Thanks again Paul and Amy "

"Thanks very much for a lovely holiday.
We love walking and exploring and had plenty of opportunity for doing both. The weather was just perfect, like a hot summer's day here in England, even though it was April. The apartment was smashing - everything we needed. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will certainly return.

"The Patara Prince Resort is such a lovely place and we had a really enjoyable time.
The apartment has a lovely cute little garden, which we adored.
We both loved Kalkan and went almost daily, either by water taxi or by walking along the coastal road. The weather was fantastic - beautiful blue skies - we didn't want to come home. The owners also have another apartment nearby, just along the pathway, number 220, so we soon made friends with the occupants!
Next time we hope to come with our family and make use of both apartments.
Sharon and Ross"
