"Not being very familiar with Spanish roads we followed the directions to the property which were via the toll road & were quite challenging when arriving at night, we later established that the A7 would have been an easier & cheaper alternative. Our first day was on a sunday & we were unaware that supermarkets would be closed that day & the next day which was a bank holiday, however, there is a service station at the bottom of the hill which sells most basic items although at a premium. The property itself is at the top of a very steep hill & a challenge by foot even for the fittest so a car is must but make sure you pay the extra for premium waiver & tyre & glass insurance as the standard of roads & drivers is very different from the UK. The property is of a very good standard & spacious. We were fortunateto have the pool to ourselves for the whole 2 weeks. The beach is a 5 minute drive & there are a number of beach bars, our favourite was Andreas y Marias as the food was great & the best value for money. Divers can be seen bringing the fish straight our of the sea so you know its fresh! The beach there was cleaner as was the sea although the sunbeds all along Duquesa are old & basic. Be prepared for some pretty big waves , great for body boarding! The port is mostly full of bars owned by the English serving English food, there are also Chinese, Indian, Mexican & Italian restaurants on different levels. Our favourite was Il Capitans, the best Italian restaurant, but stick to the wine as the spirits & soft drinks are pricey. Cheers bar is a must if your a nightbird as it stays open until 2am & serves great cocktails, our favourite was sangria cava , served by the jug. We travelled to Torremolinos to spend the day at the waterpark there only to find it closed in September so if youre travelling out of season check before you travel to any of the parks. Overall we thouroughly enjoyed our stay & were glad to have an apartment away from the busy port."

The directions given from Malaga airport to the apartment at the moment are via the E15 toll road because of the long delays and diversions on the A7 due to the building of a tunnel at San Pedro.
Many people are seen each day walking from the apartments to the beach down the slope. It is a pleasant walk with spectacular views of the Mediterranean. There is a selection of bars and restaurants in Puerto Duquesa not just English run. There is a Spanish bar,a french bar and an Irish bar as well as many others. There are Italian restaurants, Spanish,Indian, Chinese, and Dutch.
SEA CONDITIONS
In June,July and August the sea is generally calm. In September, depending on the wind directions the sea can be rougher with rollers. There are many small bays on the coast where it is quite safe for children to go into the sea and swim. There are lifeguards on most of the beaches and the flag system of red, amber and green is used to inform bathers of the sea conditions.

"The property was well kept and was in a lovely quiet, relaxing location. I would recommend it to couples or parents with young families. The pool was excellent and we liked the fact you could swim in it until midnight. The nearby Port of Duquessa was charming."

"The owners’ attention to detail really made this apartment stand out! Clean & modern with direct access to the patio, well kept gardens and large pool beyond. We tried all the restaurants that were recommended, which didn’t fail to please. A great location for exploring Andalusia. Gibraltar was within easy reach for a day trip and well worth the visit for duty free shopping! The nearby beaches were very clean with showers provided. The beach bars were inviting with tasty menus: the grilled sardines being a local speciality. During the evening Puerto Duquesa comes alive with numerous restaurants and bars. For the more adventurous Puerto Banus & Marbella are within driving distance. Having enjoyed our holiday we are looking forward to returning next year. "

"Very comfortable with all the amenities one would need. All the facilities within the property were quiet modern and in a new condition. Enjoyed my stay immensely, although the property was abit far from the shops."

Owner reply: :
The shops are 5 mins drive away.
