| "Salo is a fabulous location to spend time around Lake Garda and Villa Marianna was an excellent base to explore from. The appartment was clean, thoughtfully appointed and, though simple, very comfortable. While the appartment itself doesnt quite have a lake view there were excellent views to be had from the pool area and the appartment looked out onto a peaceful, shaded and well landscaped courtyard area.
It is only a matter of a few minutes walk from the appartment to the centre of town however it should be noted that the appartment is uphill from the town and a long flight of steps needs to be negotiated.
A very busy road also needs to be crossed and this proved to be the only negative aspect of our stay. Both getting in and out by car and crossing on foot proved to be difficult due to the entrance being situated on a corner and whilst this wasnt impossible, care was needed.
We also had a minor problem with the electricity in the appartment but this was sorted quickly and efficiently by the appartments managers and overall our impressions were very positive and we would recommend the appartment to others."

"We never had any contact from the agents & the key pickup facilities were laughable & inconvenient. The apartment is adequately but uncomfortably furnished and we still had not found a microwave by the time we left. Too impersonal & too many rules & regulations. Swimming pool OK but unheated."
Owner reply:
:
Dear Roger, in the welcome and instructions document we send, we stress many times that you can contact us for ANY reason or question on a number which is available 24 hours a day. Otherwise we dont make our presence known as a "holiday rep" would as this is a private rental and most people value their privacy and do not want to be bothered unless they have a problem we can sort out for them. I find it hard to understand how you can describe the key pickup facilities laughable and inconvenient when they allow our guests to arrive at any time they choose (not at a time that suits us, which usually happens at other places) at a location 2 or 3 minutes drive from the apartment, and we are also available at all times to help if need be. The swimming pool (which is not advertised heated, 99.9% of residence pools in this part of Italy are not heated at all) has regulations ONLY because they are imposed, by Italian law, on all residences with shared swimming pools in the region of Lombardy (and many other regions of Italy). It is the owners legal duty to inform guests of these laws.

| "Great value for money, and a short walk into the beautiful town of Salo.
Couple of things to mention - if you are going into town for dinner at night you will need a torch as the path to town has several steps and is very overgrown, and very very dark at night.
The road you have to cross is dangerous (wouldnt want to stay there with young children).
The swimming pool is not heated, which means it is unusable end of September onwards. We literally could not get into the pool it was icey cold. I imagine the same would apply before July.
You would really need a car to get to supermarkets - there didnt seem to be any decent sized ones in Salo itself.
Still awaiting breakage deposit - improved communication around when to expect it back would be helpful.

| "We were very pleased with the aprtment and its location. We had everything we needed in terms of equipment and furnishings, and enjoyed the quiet peaceful location.
We would howvever have found it very useful to have fuller information provided. A street map of the town would have been enormously useful, as would fuller directions to supermarkets and parking in Salo. Directions back to the key holder wouyld also have been a help as that area of town is quite complicated in terms of road layouts etc.
It would also have been useful to know before we arrived that we would not be able to use the pool without swim hats and plastic shoes. It also occurs to me that it might be worth mentioning that the 10-15 minute walk down to town includes very steep steps, in case older people are interested in booking."

| "Property was fantastic. Everything we needed for our two week break. No air conditioning but the fan provided was more than adequate.
Would definately recommend this property and area to holiday in. Not suitable accomodation for families as crossing the busy road every night was dangerous.
Overall, more than satisfied with our rental and we would return!"

| "We were really pleased with the property. The pictures online do not do it justice. Fantastic value for money and really great place. It is all very well kept and very homely with everything you could need. The pool is lovely and the neighbours are very friendly.
The only thing that I would mention is that you have to cross a road to get to the steps down to Salo and it is quite dangerous. Not the end of the world but worth considering.
I will definitely go back and really enjoyed my stay there...thank you very much."

| "Apartment very clean and well equipped, very nicely situated for Salo, which is a very nice town, not so touristy as the other Garda towns.
However having 10 nights of broken and disturbed sleep because of the neighbours(or is it the thin walls) really ruined what we hoped would be a relaxing holiday. Ear plugs recomended."

"The appartment was fine with all the equipment necessary for a week's holiday. The pool area was excellent although we did not use it. Unfortunately the walls of the building were paper thin so all noise passed through easily. As the couple next door did not go to bed until the early hours of the morning this is a problem for anybody who is a light sleeper. We had to book into a hotel for the last two nights to get some sleep!"
Owner reply:
:
Hi and thank you for your comments. We have now successfully been able to remove the neighbours (who worked shifts), so the noise problem is now resolved.

| "Villa Marianna is a nice property conveniently located in Salo with good views and availability for local shops and restaurants. The Villa is easy to find from Milan / Autostarda and clear instructions are given. The property is well kept and clean. The villa is a good size for a couple and the kitchen is clean and functional. Some dissapointments include the noise from the neighbours above, this starts around 11.30pm and may last until 3am. Apart from the noise issues this villa makes a perfect location for visits to Lake Garda, Venice and surroundings.

| "A very clean and well-kept converted farmhouse apartment in a convenient location on Lake Garda. Although there are no lake views, the large patio doors open up and overlook a pleasant courtyard. We didn't use the pool as it was March and this was located at the rear of the apartment.
Like a previous reviewer, we too noticed the noise from our neighbours. In fact, by the time we went to bed, the noise was so unacceptable that we were woken up several times during the first night. They are not particularly noisy neighbours, it's just dreadfully poor sound proofing between the rooms, particularly in the bedroom where the sound appeared to be travelling through a wooden beam.
A few other gripes were that the heating wasn't working properly (the radiators needed bleeding and the boiler turning up); The toaster and kettle power plugs were different than the sockets in the room and we had to use our own adaptor from the UK to make them work; And we never did find any hand soap. These were all minor things which I'm sure will be fixed for next time but after all, we were on holiday and shouldn't have to worry about these things!
The town of Salo is only minutes down the steep steps (take a torch for the journey home!) and offers plenty of nice restaurants by the lake. We bought some food from the local supermarket and cooked one night in the well-equipped kitchen, leaving all the washing up to the dishwasher.
Despite my points above, it was excellent value for money and we had a superb time but I think the soundproofing needs some attention before we would return."

| "Wanted a relaxing queit holiday and got exactly that. The swimming pool and terrace were just what we needed. Only slight niggle was that the walls are paper thin, so we heard our neighbours. Otherwise close enough to Salo to be "in the town" but far enough out to be peaceful. You are near the main road but we could not hear it in the apartment."

| "The property was accurately described and was everything we could have asked for. It is very clean and modern and we were given assistance by the property manager when required. The location is ideal for access to Salo town centre on foot. There is a busy road to cross and a number of steps down to the centre but we were aware of these beforehand. Overall, it was an ideal location for exploring this beautiful region."

"First of all its not good enough that there only are 2 sun beds for a 4 person appartment.
Then I will recommend that there should be out door furniture at the appartment for sitting outside on the terrace in evenings.
Beside that if was a great appartment and everything works in it so thats nice"
Owner reply:
:
Each apartment is limited to 2 sun beds around the pool to avoid overcrowding, however 4 people can use the pool. This goes for every apartment in the complex, not just this one, and is a legal requirement. We had provided 2 deck-chair loungers in addition, for use on the patio, and the dining table can be used either indoors or outdoors, simply by moving it through the large glass sliding doors. However, we are getting new patio furniture soon to replace the chairs. Many thanks for your comments and I'm glad you enjoyed your stay.

"The property was satisfactory, apart from having no outside furniture, which we found disappointing as we could not eat "alfresco" as stated in the description printed of this property. We found that although we did not wish to watch tv daily, it would have been useful to have had an English speaking channel enabling us to have news events, and local weather forecasts. We felt in this case that the apartment was catering for the Italian client but as it was rented to English clients we think it should reflect this. We spoke to Sarah Ferrar on occasion who did her best to accomodate our requirements, but was unable to supply patio furniture which did effect our overall enjoyment of the apartment. However the area was wonderful and we thoroughly enjoyed our time in Lake Garda."
Owner reply:
:
Hello, I provided patio chairs for you within hours of your request. Alfresco dining, as explained, was nevertheless possible by moving the table a few feet through the large glass sliding doors onto the patio. This makes use of the patio more flexible. The apartment is not catering only to the Italian client, but we find that most of our guests like to experience Italy as an Italian would: it is perfectly natural for tv channels to be in Italian when in Italy!

"Very clean accommodation in a spot close to Salo centre (especially if you used the steep steps off the main road, opposite the apartments)
My main criticism has to be the lack of instructions for the apartment and complex eg the gas had been turned off and we were left no instructions on how to turn on so consequently had no means of cooking for the first few days; all rubbish had to be cleared away on departure but yet no indication where to put it; all sunbeds and umbrellas had to be brought up to the pool area from a store room down the drive - in other words do not use ones already there as some other occupants/owners had already carted them up the steep drive to the pool area and got angry if you used theirs!"
Owner reply:
:
Hi, thanks for your review and we are glad you enjoyed your stay. I am sorry about the gas, obviously the previous renter had switched it off before leaving. I am not sure why you didn't call me: on you arrival I pointed out my mobile number posted in the apartment and told you to call me or text if you had any problems. Had you called me I would have solved the problem immediately as I keep my mobile on 24 hours a day. The bin collection skips are on the side of the main road for everyone to use at any time and are clearly signed, however I will add clearer instructions to the manual so there is no confusion. We look forward to having you at Villa Marianna again soon.

| "The apartment within the Villa Marianna was absolutely spotless and provided everything (except a corkscrew) that we could possibly need. The Villa itself is beautiful and is well maintained. Might be well worth advising customers of the DVD players that have been included and may want to bring some entertainment for the children on wet days.
There was only a couple of other groups there while we stayed but would suggest that it could be quite noisy from other guests and their use of the balconies to entertain.
The location is very good having direct access to the road that runs completely around Lake Garda. There is however a need for a car from this location as Salo is a short distance away along the busy road."

| " We found that the pool had absolutely stunning views from it. Think that perhaps it should be pointed out that this property is not suitable for the elderly or those with young children. Although we hired a car, we didn't take it out in the evenings and the walk back from Salo was very steep however it wouldn't put us off returning to this property which is gorgeous. I think also that the property would definitely benefit from air conditioning as the temperature in the apartment in the evening was horrendous. Overall a fantastic holiday as Salo is an absolutely beautiful place, the food was great and the apartment was lovely. "

for the builders who started work between 7-30-
8am each morning and not finishing on the Thus
till after 8pm. The apartment was very nice but
should imagine if full could be very noisy ( even
without the buiders ). Could of done with a cork-
screw and a airer to dry towels etc after the pool."
