"The 3 of us spent a fantastic, relaxing week at Goldsmid Mews and hope to go back next year. The house was lovely and cosy and had everything we could possibly need. Its amazing how much of a difference the little things can make to your holiday. Thanks loads for everything"

"A very well equipped house...everything you could possibly need was provided. However a little small for 6 and getting a little tired round the edges. had a small problem with the bathroom basin which was sorted out very quickly (Louise & Phil were excellent and able to answer or sort out all our queries very quickly) and no tv for the first 3 days as a problem with the Sky dish. All in all was a comfortable holiday home in a fantastic location...would recommend using the garage as it meant we didnt have to worry about the car all week."

"We had a lovely stay in this attractive, bijoux mews house. The manager of the property had gone to great lengths to give a personal touch and the attention to welcoming things such as cava, slippers and robes, sweets for the kids, little welcome note on the fridge etc was great. She was also very amenable to helping answer our queries. An attractively decorated mews house, it could probaby do with a little touch-up by now, however thats just being a bit nit-picky as overall our stay was delightful and the children really liked the accommodation as much as they liked Brighton. Its well situated and within walking distance to town, sea front and other attractions and is in an area well served by local bars and shops. It was adequate size for myself and my 3 children, though any more than that would have felt VERY tight. Ideal for couples and small families."

"My friends and I couldnt have wished for a more perfect place to spend new year and my 30th birthday. All our needs were catered for and more (there was no mention of the spa bath from what I remember!!...a very pleasant surprise). A beautiful Christmas tree greeted us with a plasma TV screen showing a crackling, log fire...and then the bowl of sweets, a bottle of champagne and a box of Rennie for the festive period - such a perfect welcome. The location was fantastic for the city centre, situated down a quiet street off the main Brighton-Hove strip. The Freemasons pub in Hove, a personal fave, is at the end of the road and we were impressed with the Farm Tavern virtually next door. 6 of us stayed there comfortably, although there is a lack of privacy for the two who have to sleep in the lounge. They were very comfortable though and slept well. If youre good friends you quickly get into a bathroom/getting ready routine! Thank you for contributing to a memorable stay - will look up again in the future."

"We had a brilliant time here - the house was gorgeous and location fantastic. It really was a home away from home (albeit nicer than our own home) and gave us a wonderfully relaxing break. Thank you so much."

"The property was in a great location, with fantastic little touches including TV, DVD, free wifi and Laptops tea, coffee and sugar porvided along with a whole host of games for children and adults alike, should you fancy a night in. The porperty was also clean and in good condition, the bathroom had just been refurbished with power shower and jacuzzi bath We also hired the garage for our car, which we did not need once we had arrived, very convenient and secure parking. With four people staying, there was enough room, without feeling like we were on top of each other. Would certainly recommend as part of a great break in Brighton."

"Excellent facilities are provided, private courtyard at front catches lots of sunshine. Very happy with the stay."

"Once you are inside the courtyard it takes on a completely different form. Farm road is not so pleasant as the rest of the area, but otherwise the location is excellent. We found a few place that we had not been to in Brighton from staying in this location."

"The property was fantastic, the kids loved it, the Grandparents loved it and we loved it! Excellent attention to detail and the kitchen was so well equipped we were able to feel like it was our own home. Thank you, you helped to make a family wedding even more fabulous."

"A group of six adults enjoyed this well placed property. It was compact living for few day so I recommend that you need to be very good friends to get the most out of your stay. Problems with parking outside, garage too tight for our large car. Otherwise a great base to explore the wonders of Brighton."

"Centrally located. Spotless. Well stocked. We were 2 adults and 2 teenagers. The smaller room does not have a cupboard so that was a little squishy, but the property and amenities are wonderful. The property manager/owner is very approachable and went out of her way to ensure our comfort...even so far as leaving chocolates on our pillows and a bottle of bubbly on the dining table. There is a garage now avaiable for hire which I highly recommend as the parking there is dreadful...although it take us a couple of tries to figure out how to get the car in...we were very relieved to have it available. Although there is not a designated sitting area outdoors, there are 2 chairs and a little table to use. As a matter of fact, when it rained, we sat out under the covered entrance way of the mews! This is a great property!"

"The property was very centrally located to our needs and was well-appointed. There are some very personal touches which made the stay especially pleasant, such as chocolates and snacks and champagne. The kitchen is stocked with a few essentials, which made it nice after a VERY long journey not to have to rush to the shops. We stayed there with four adults, a 3 year old child and a 2 month old child. While a bit of a squeeze, we were out an about during the day and didn't feel cramped. Loved the fluffy pillows and duvets!"

"the extra little touches of the drinks and choclate made us feel realy welcomed. even a pint of milk in the fridge and plenty of reading. the location is ideal for the pubs and the local food retialers were fantastic. Thoroughly enjoed my stay."

"Great place for a weekend with friends. I had read some reviews and was a bit nervous that it would not be big enough for 5 adults. Although it was compact it more than suited our needs and was clean, comfortable and very homely. For a holiday rental we couldn't have asked for more, everything was provided, even games and music for if it was raining outside, the extra touches of fizzy wine and chocolates went down a treat. I would definitely stay here again, we loved it."

"The property was very comfortable and well equipped. The only problem was the size. It was too small for six people. But all in all we liked staying there."

"The property is very well furnished and maintained. It is in an ideal location for both Brighton and Hove centres and in this regard is excellent. The property is however VERY small, and the write up even states that the tall ceilings lend it an air of space - this is NOT the case and it would struggle to accomodate six people. They may be able to physically sleep, but this is very different to accomodating them properly. Maximum 3-4 should stated."

"Having recently moved from Brighton this was our first trip back. The house is situated in a great location and although central is quiet as it is set back in a private courtyard. The house is small but has everything you need. We used it as a base and so popped in and out between the beach and our favourite park. Ideally suited for restaurants, bus routes, Tesco Metro. Parking tricky but we won't bring two cars next time and to be honest you don't really need a car as the house is so central so we could have parked a few streets back on free parking and left them there for the weekend. The house is clean, kid-friendly and has lots of little extras which are really appreciated. Will definately come again."

"The property was very well equipped and furnished. And in that repsect is good valkue for money. It's also well located. But it's very misleading to say it sleeeps 6 and by implication that it's big enough to accommodate 6 people. I went with my wife and 3 young children and it was completely inapropriate in terms of space. It's not really a 2 bedroom, it's one bedroom knocked into two and once the sofa bed is poulled out downstairs you can't swing a cat. It would be a perfect property for a couple with one child so i think you shouild be more realistic about saying it sleeps 6, as it suggests the property is bigger and more spacious than it actually is. Parking is an issue. Not only costly but inconvenient, having to popp out every couple of hours to feed the mjeter or move the car. Surely you can come up with a temporary arrnagment with other residents in the mews. "

Owner reply: :
Many thanks for your comments. This property is indeed located in a central location, within walking distance of all local amenities and, as a result, parking is an issue. Unfortunately the landlord has been unable to negotiate parking access with the landlord of the remaining Mews properties. The landlord does have plans to rent out a garage immediately opposite the Mews which should help matters. Guests will in future be able to benefit from being in the centre of Brighton & Hove as well as having off street parking which is almost unheard of!

We are sorry that you feel that this property was too small for your family. It seems that a 3 bedroom apartment may have been a more suitable choice for you. This would have obviously been a more expensive option.

This property frequently houses 6 guests and the property frequently receives high praise from these parties. The sofa bed in the lounge is aimed at providing additional sleeping space only and is not intended to be a third bedroom. The bed should be converted back into a sofa during the day to provide additional space. The sofa bed is an option for those wishing to reduce the cost per head, making this property excellent value for money.

"We had a lovely stay and the house is very well maintained and equiped. Parking could be a problem but we left the car near the marina and didn't need it during our stay. The landlord is obviously very thoughtful and the wine and chocolates where lovely when we arrived."

"Good accommodation in a fantastic city. Everything you will need is in the house, with some nice extras. Located off of a quite side street in a lively but quiet part of brighton / hove. 10mins walk from city centre, 5mins from sea. Could be doing with a wee bit decoration but we went at the end of the season and you've got to expect some wear & tear. A great holiday."

"Amazingly quiet location with easy walk to Brighton Centre and good foodshops locally in Hove. Very comfortable, bright and generally clean accommodation ( watch out for grill) Well equipped especially with glasses of all shapes and sizes! Shame about lack of parking - why not offer to purcahse visitor passes for resident only parking."
