"Excellent value for money. A truly enjoyable retreat, excellent service and fantastic facilities. Matt and his team provided a high-level of service and local insight. We could not have wished for more. The stairs will help you work off the vast amounts of food, make sure you enjoy one of their BBQs! Planning to come back soon."

" ‘We had the best possible family reunio n at the Penthouse - a true sanctuary, if ever there was one! Breakfast prepared by Eli and P Git was the perfect start to each day - but so delicious we all went home a few pounds heavier! Next time well make sure to have more BBQs. The one we had was the perfect showcase for your property and the spectacular Phuket Vista. Cheers and see you soon!"

"What an absolute gem, this penthouse condo!! It is rented out by Mat (UK) and Eli (Thailand) and is part of the Evason Resort. We went with 4 adults & 3 children aged 3, 6 and 10 and everyone had a fabulous time. The penthouse is extremely well-appointed. The main floor has 3 large bedrooms with gorgeous furniture and romantic mosquito nets and a spacious and nicely furnished living area. The living area includes a very impressive entertainment system that we found useful with the kids at times and for those odd evenings when we weren’t out enjoying the restaurants. An attic with another bed and TV + Sony Play Station is reached via a spiral staircase from the living area. Mat and Eli have provided a plentiful selection of DVDs and games for the Playstation if you haven’t brought your own and a good variety of books, mostly in English but a fair selection of Finnish as well. There are 2 bathrooms (one with bath, one with rain shower – water pressure not brilliant but manageable) and the well-appointed kitchen is part of the living area. All the appliances you could wish for are there: dishwasher, washing machine, coffee maker, toaster, microwave, cooker, kettle, fridge/freezer + one extra minibar fridge in the bar area (yes there is a bar as well!). The condo was cleaned every day with clean towels daily and clean sheets halfway through the week. There are 3 terraces to this southeast facing condo, all with sweeping views of the Andaman Sea, as you laze on chairs, sunbeds and even a few hammocks. Bliss!! We didn’t get to meet Mat as he was traveling but the e-mail communication was ever so friendly, helpful, fast & efficient. We even got a very thoughtful phone call from Hon Kong checking that everything was in order. Eli was an absolute star, came to see us every day to check that everything was in order. She cooked us a fabulous Thai meal at a more than decent price and helped us out with groceries and the like at very reasonable prices. Taxis, hints & tips, you name it and Eli provided. It was such a lovely way to spend a holiday, feeling well looked after and not having to spend our precious time on banalities like getting water supplies. The resort is lovely & tropical and has a feel of understated class and calm to it. Many a swimming pool can be found: infinity (adults only), garden pool, family pool, and two small pools at the entrance to the condos. No real beach except a pulbic small one to the right of the longboats to the island. There is a kids club as well, free of charge for over 4’s (but they are happy to take under-4’s when, as in our case, a responsible older sibling is present). Some good restaurants, we absolutely loved the Thai and the buffets were excellent as well, both breakfast and dinner. There is also a seafood buffet and a Mediterranean restaurant, as well as a restaurant by the family pool which serves snacky type things, all very yummy. The resort staff are all helpful & friendly and most of them speak reasonable English. The best thing about the Evason is undoubtedly their private beach on Bon Island. There is a regular longboat service to the island and it really is a little taste of paradise. It has plenty of sun loungers in the shade or sun, beautiful showers & toilets (semi-outdoors with gorgeous smelling incense & soap) a lovely little restaurant and you can sail, surf, canoe etc to your heart’s content. Be aware though that there are some steps to negotiate – 102 from the restaurant area to the condos. We actually found it really helpful for counterbalancing the fabulous food and it didn’t bother us one bit (my parents who were with us are in their mid-sixties and had no problems). "

"We spent 4 days in this lovely spacious apartment and wished it had been longer. Eli was extremely helpful and went out of her way to help (she gave us local sim card to use when the landline went down). Lots of dining opportunities both at the resort (pricey) and at the nearby beach (delicious and v reasonable)plus of course the fully equipped kitchen. Loved the resort's family pool and Bon Island beach. I would return and do recommend to others however it's perhaps not the ideal location for very young children (less than 2yrs) as there are many steps both to access and inside the apartment. Also perhaps worth noting that the baby crib cannot be moved out of the master suite."

"Our family of 5 stayed for 13 nights and very much enjoyed the Penthouse, Evason Resort and Bon Island facilities. Yes the resort has lots of stairs, but it was good exercise to help counteract the excesses of holiday living. Our three children (8, 8, 10) loved the Kids room, Playstation & (husband) big screen projector. Numerous friends were staying at another resort but we had no regrets in choosing to go it alone and stay in the Penthouse. Mat & Eli were friendly and helpful and provided a very good service if you actually want or need anything. Eli cooked and looked after the kids for us a couple of times while we went out for the evening. All in all a truly memorable holiday and we hope to return in the not too distant future!"

"Stayed here twice in 2006 and 2007 the place is incredible, views from the penthouse are out of this world. There is acres of space in either the penthouse or the elysian condos and the facilities are everything we needed and lots more. Bon Island was where we spent a fair amount of time on the beach and trying to windsurf which was great fun. We also did a bit of travel ling round to see Phuket. Ate in the local restaurants v cheaply and treated ourselves on a couple of occasions to the food in the Evasons restaurant which was worth every penny. The owner/manager (Matt) couldnt do enough for us and gave us good advice about local facilities. All in all we'll be back just as soon as we can get enough time off."

"The description of the apartment does not mention that there are several stairs to reach the apartment - this apartment would be less than ideal for people who have difficulty with stairs or who need pram or wheelchair access."

Owner reply: :
Please note it does state on the website information that the Penthouse is not suitable for elderly or for wheel chair access and did so at the time of this booking. Point is accepted re pram though this was not questioned on submission and was considered covered by the wheelchair aspect.

We would like to thank the guest for highlighting this however and there favourable 5 star review.

"We were 3 families from the US, Hong Kong and Singapore and we rented 2 of Matt's apartments. The apartments were in excellent condition (exceeded our expectations and description on website) and Matt and Eli were wonderful hosts, looking after all our needs (from laundry, breaksfast to tips for local thai food). The seaview from the penthouse unit was excellent, with 3 balconies/rooftop for hours of "sea gazing".The kids loved the loft (and playstation!).The kitchen was a great plus as there were nights we wanted to dine in. We had access to all the hotel's facilities and loved the garden pool ( and the spa). All of us had a wonderful time and we will definately be back."

"We had a wonderful time in Phuket . We loved staying the Andaman Cove condos and enjoyed both our time in the condo and the entire resort. We used all the pools, the spa, the separate island with beach - and we had fun trying out all the restaurants. it was a great holiday and Mat and Eli were terrific hosts. They went out of their way to help us find tours and other activities and generally made sure we had everything we could possibly want. I highly recommend them. "
