"The rental was very well presented by the owner. It was a two bedroom property and one of the rooms was much nicer than the other so it wouldnt have worked well for two couples. However, for a family with one or two children it would be fine. It was definitely on the dirty side when we arrived so we were disappointed in that regard, but once we got it cleaned up and stocked a bit better we enjoyed it very much. (For example, there were no matches when we arrived and the stove was gas that needed to be lit with a match so it would have been nice to have those handy). Also, the second day, we ran out of fuel right in the middle of cooking a leg of lamb for Easter. Luckily, the property manager across the street had a spare tank and took care of it quickly for us. All in all, we were comfortable and liked the area very much."

"A charming, characterful old property in a beautiful location."

"Lovely little house. Good value for money. Steep stairs would make it unsuitable for small children or anyone with physical limitation but this is made clear to the renter. Well equipped kitchen, good shower, lovely bath. Washing machine much better than my own. Beautiful views from the Terrace. The village has two restaurants but no shops which is an inconvenience."

"We had the most wonderful time in this perfect little gem of a house, where everything has been thought of. Breakfast and supper on the terrace came as close to heaven as one could, the views are just spectacular. As for le charbon, the restaurant opposite, I give it 5 stars for the food (nearly all local and deliciously fresh)and for all the help Nicolas (owner) gave us while we were there. We shall return!"

"We found the location excellent even though the bar owner and ourselves had a few disagreements. The cottage itself was in its character, although the second lavatory, was, shall we say, needed bolting down and it required, a little more warmth. On a personal note, one only had five saucepan lids and one saucepan, followed by no oven,to which we mentioned to Claire. Also only a couple was plastic wine glasses, which were not suited to our expensive wine and armagnac. How-ever in saying that a few minor alterations and detail would make the property, excellent value. One also got the impression that due to the fact the barowners were leaving, they showed little enthusiam in your property.[too bsy i,m told]. Finally yes,one would reommend friends and have done so already,as they are great cyclists. Hope this helps.Regards. J.Commatteo."

Owner reply: :
Dear John,
Thanks for your review, the oven is gas and needs lighting - I know this can be difficult at times - so sorry you found this difficult. The last time I was there there were 3 copper pans, one non stick blue pan and a wok on the wall, as well as a frying pan - so if these have been taken away I apologise, and we will replace them. There is an assortment of glasses in the lounge cupboard, wine as well as brandy glasses - as they don't fit in the kitchen cupboard - apologies if you did not manage to find them. We will get the lavatory seat 'bolted down'. Glad you would recommend it to a friend - it is a really lovely part of the country.

"We really enjoyed our holiday in this simple house in a quaint village (tho no village shop). The house is a great base for exploring this amazing area. This house is basic but well equipped with new 'white goods' and good quality beds and linen. The views from the dining area and upstairs terrace are beautiful, though we found the west facing terrace too hot to use in August with no umbrella or awning. The bathroom suite was new and lots of hot water, flatscreen tv (not satellite), plus cd player with good selection of owner's music- altogether comfortable and functional, good value for the price we paid. The restaurant opposite is run by the couple who look after the property- great to have them close at hand, and they could not have been more freindly and helpful- nice too to have option of eating in their bistro."

Owner reply: :
We have now added a shade for the terrace.

"An excellent base from which to explore the spectacular local scenery. However, as we were the first ever renters of this property, there are a few teething problems which need to be sorted out. The standard of cleanliness was poor on arrival but this was apparently as a result of confusion over our arrival date. (Not really an excuse, 'tho). More worrying is that the place leaks like a sieve when it rains but this problem should be easy to rectify - and it didn't rain until the day we left! The Bistro du Pays opposite provided one of the best meals we ate whilst in France and the owners are this property's managers. They are very friendly and helpful & will provide anything asked for, such as bread for breakfast, if ordered the night before. (They are closed on Tuesdays.) One last thing - the bells, the bells! There is a huge one directly above the house which we became aware of on our first evening out on the terrace - enjoying the fabulous sunset and far-reaching views with a G&T - but, intriguingly"

Owner reply: :
We have now fixed the leak and changed the cleaner. The Bistro still manages the property.
