| "We arrived late in the afternoon and was greeted by Monica who looked after us both very well throughout the stay. She showed us where evrything was and what to do and even popped in the check all was okay during our stay. The property was very clean and tidy and in very good condition. I would be pleased to recommend it to anybody and only hope we will be staying there again in the not to distant future. A lady from Canada did sugget feeding the cats - a very silly idea on your own patio, as they will never leave you alone and keep trying to get in the villa. If you have to feed them put it in their bowls !! People should think when making these comments as my wife has a bad allergy with cat fur!!!"

| "This villa proved to be the perfect base for my wife and seven year old son for our recent two week break. Located part way up the west coast was ideal as everything seemed easy to get to. The local supermarket and various restaurants around Holetown were varied and overall excellent. I think a car is vital is you want to see the island although the local bus service is good. The villa itself is spotless, in a quiet area and the pool is perfect. The position of the villa is ideal having the swimming pool outside our door and a great view of the sea and a grandstand seat for the wonderful sunsets. I would not hesitate to recommend this villa to anyone wishing to visit Barbados.

| "My wife and i had a great time at your villa. It was well situated for the West coast and easy to get around on the bus service. Pool felt like ours being right in Front of our balcony. Villa was nice and clean with the amenities you need for the trip. Would stay again and both decided staying in the Villa a much better option than being locked into a resort, there are so many nice places to eat and drink it would be a waste to sit in one place."

| "For those of you who are having a difficult time deciding which part of the Island to stay, whether on the East Coast or West Coast, I suggest that you try the Ajoupa Villas on the West Coast in Fitts Village, St. James.
The Villa exceeded my expectations. It is well maintained, clean, quiet, very close to public transportation, if youre not going to rent a car, and I felt quite safe there. The locals were wonderful to us, giving us mangos or directions and I was quite please with the place, despite the roosters crowing. The sound of it was wonderful...to me. Taking in the culture of the Island was also beautiful.
There is Jordans Supermarket (right down the hill to your left) to do your food shopping, however, I visited Fishermans Pub in Speightstown, St. Peter (Take the Bus or minivan marked Speightstown to the last stop), where they serve bajan food by the water and the cost is affordable and you also get a great view. It was wonderful. You can take that same bus to Holetown for your "close" souvenir shopping, if you cant get into Bridgetown. I suggest if you can to bring with you food stuff, if youre traveling with kids, as the food shopping on the Island is very expensive.
Although there is a lovely beach across the street from the Supermarket, it is also very rocky, so try to get to Browns Beach (which is walking distance from Bridgetown. Just go over the first bridge and keep walking straight or ask a local). The beach is beautiful with white sand, no rocks and a calm beach. It is also the home of Harbourlights, a very nice night club, if youre into that.
As you can see, I can go on... But this will give you an idea of what to expect if you decide to visit the Ajoupa Villas. The price was reasonable for the quality of service we received and we will definitely recommend this to another. It was worth every penny. Just watch out for those African snails. They love to eat. :)"

| "6 Ajoupa Villas is an exellent place to visit Barbados from. We have two children ages 15 and 13 and the villa was the perfect size for us. It was very clean, with modern appliances and some nice little touches such as beach umbrellas, portable cooler for the beach, and even boogie boards!! The pool is a must to cool-off in the afternoon, even after a day at the beach. Its also a great way to start your day. If you are looking for a place to stay that makes visiting Barbados fun, central to all sites, and great value, then this villa is for you."

| "We could not fault it. Quality furnishings. very comfy bed. Good outlook/views.Short walk to Fitts beach which we had to ourselves sometimes. Near supermarket and local bus stops. Very quiet, only the frogs at night! Pool area great. Monaca met us when we arrived, explained air con, maid service- very friendly. TV , dvd handy as we did stay in some evenings- we felt very at home there.Very large fridge.Kitchen well equipped. Taxi journey took under half an hour. An ideal place to stay if you do not want to be in the middle of a busy town. Local bus is 50p a journey to the livelier places!"

| "Have just ended a perfect two weeks at the villa which is part of a small modern complex close to Fitts beach. Its situation is near the end of the development and conveniently opposite the pool so one could enjoy a cooling dip in about 2 minutes.
The villa is extremely well appointed and clean with all the modern conveniences one would expect at home plus quiet and efficient A/C and fans. When the patio and back doors are open a refreshing breeze is an additional comfort.
Beds can make or break a holiday in my opinion, so I was relieved to find them as comfortable as my own.
Because the villa has unrestricted views to the sea, it was an added pleasure to enjoy a planters punch on the balcony at the end of the day watching the glorious Barbados sunsets and the cruise liners departing.
A truly wonderful Barbados experience."

| "This was my second visit to this property. The same time last year I was the very first occupant of the new villa. I did wonder if it might have deteriorated but it was, if anything, better as some new things have been added to make it even nicer. It is still spotlessly clean and well equipped. The beds are extremely comfortable and the kitchen is better equipped than most UK homes. The pool and communal gardens are tended regularly. The villa is well situated near beaches, supermarket and good restaurants. I would not recommend for 18-30s as it is a very quiet location among local houses, but for families and mature visitors (like me) it makes a restful base on this lovely island. Although regular buses pass at the end of the road (100 yards away) a rental car for at least part of the holiday is recommended for getting to South and East coasts. It is excellent value for money and I have already provisionally booked for next year."

| "Had a great time at 6 Ajoupa villas. Prior to our visit, the owner was extremely helpful. The villa Manager was friendly and efficient on arrival and the property was exactly as described. Very comfortable, clean and had everything we needed (including high chair and cot for our baby). Would definately recommend to a friend."

| "Fantasic, clean property, well equipped with everything we needed including boogie boards, pool toys, snorkel and chairs for the beach.
Bedrooms nice and clean, beds were nice & comfy, and there are excellent views from balcony upstairs.
Pool really close to the villa, and supermarket 5 mins walk away - has all the essentials and reasonably priced - big bottles of rum for about 9 quid!!!
Villas are set in very nice well-kept gardens we were often visited by the birds and bats, which roosted nearby in the big mango tree. Mosquitoes and/or insect repellent a must.
You really need a car if you want to go to nicer beaches or do more than just a beach holiday - Fitts is OK but Mullins Beach further north we found much nicer, with more activity.
We strongly recommend you try Teds Tours for a good and entertaining insight into the island - includes all drinks & food and is very reasonably priced. There are not many restaurants a short walk nearby apart from Il Tempio although buses are frequent and cheap if you want to go further.
All in all, a fantastic place to visit and stay."

| "The villa was awesome. It was very clean and neat, had everything we needed for the week, including boogie boards, beach chairs, umbrella, cooler to take to the beach. Soap for washing dishes and hands. All the utensils, plates and cooking supplies were very clean. Air conditioned worked perfect. We loved having the pool just steps away from our front door. The only drawback was that there was not a really nice beach within walking distance. There were beaches within walking distance but the ones we liked we had to drive to or take the bus to. Otherwise it was a gret place to stay. Owners are also very nice, we did not meet them but they did call and check in with us."

| "A friend invited me to share a fortnight in 6 Ajouba Villas. The holiday surpassed my expectations, chiefly because the villa was ideal for our stay. It is simply but elegantly furnished and has everything we needed - all the equipment worked well, especially the air conditioning. The big sitting room cum dining room opened out on to the pool and we could sit on the verandah with our rum punches relaxing after a swim.
The view from the upstairs balcony is lovely - across palm trees to the sunsets over the sea.
It is a short walk to Fitts beach with excellent swimming in clear water. Good restaurants are nearby - again only a short walk.
Holetown has a very good shopping centre. I did a lot of exciting Christmas shopping there.
My friend has invited me to come again with her to the villa next winter and I shall come like a shot.

| "Upon arrival of the property we were greeting by the couple who manage the Villa (Pat & Gilly). They were helpful and knowledgeable throughout our stay. They helped us with the area, renting cars and catameran cruises etc.
The Villa itself was really amazing. It was better than we could have hoped for. It was immaculate and had everything that you could wish for. Everything is brand new.
Beds were very comfy and airconditioning throughout made our time spent in Villa very comfortable.
There is a terrace off of the master bedroom that is lovely for having a nice rum and coke and some nibbles whilst watching the sun set over Fitts Village beach.
The area itself is an old fishing village although not very much fishing goes on to date. Most of the houses nearby are local families and the bright yellow/peach/salmon villas stand out from the surrounding properties.
There is Jordans supermarket at the bottom of the road which is a good size and has everything you will need. There is a really fabulous and large supermarket in Holetown which has a great array of products including fresh meats/wines/British/American products at a good price.
The villa is ideally situated near the beach which is great for swimming and snorkling (we swam with a turtle at this beach!) Il tempio is also on this beach and is great for drinks during the day (there is a cool bag in villa that you can stock up with drinks and snacks if you prefer - very handy). It is also open for lunch and dinner. We had a nice antipasti plate one day with some wine and garlic bread - just right!
There is also a bus stop at the bottom of the road which will take you just about everywhere which we found to be a fantastic way to travel. Very cheap too. It is only 35p (our equivilant) to travel everywhere! We did hire a car to go to exploring the other sides of the island however it would still be very easy to do it by bus.
There are fantastic restaurants and bars on the island, the famous Cliff was as spectacular as we had imagined, Calabazza was as good if not better - staff/food amazing! 39 Steps is great, Cocomos is a fab venue where you can chill out during the day and hire some sun loungers and drink a few beers or be more adventurous and rent a jet ski or go on one of the inflatable water rides (ask for Trinni who manages this beach business - he is a great charachter!). The Crane Beach resort has a restaurant called L'azure which must be tried too. There are many more so have fun finding your favourites as we did.
All in all it was an awesome holiday. We have always said we would not go to the same place twice just because the world is so big and there are too many places to choose from but we would highly recommend Barbados and especially this villa.
Thanks for an amazing holiday!"

| "A friend and I were the first-ever tenants of this delightful property in November 2007 and we plan to return in 2008. It is comfortably furnished, and well-equipped with wonderful beds, washing machine and dryer etc. The pool is a dozen steps from the front door, and each evening we sat on the balcony with rum punches, watching the sun go down over the Caribbean and listening to the chorus of singing frogs. At the back of the villa live friendly local people who were very welcoming and at Ajoupa Villa one feels part of the village community rather than a tourist isolated in a hotel. We hired a car, as we liked touring the island, but a lovely uncrowded beach, a good supermarket and two really excellent restaurants are within easy walking distance, but there is a short hill up to the villa. Our only complaint was that two weeks weren't nearly long enough! This was one of the best holidays I've ever had in Barbados, in 20 years of visiting there."
