"Just returned home from Essaouira and stayed in Apartment Simoom. Its a lovely place to stay. Its clean has a small balcony off the main bedroom and a private rooftop terrace. The shower is seperate from the toilet and once you let the water run its got nice and hot in a few mins. There is a very handy little supermarket next door and the beach is extremely close to the apartment which is great if your kitesurfers like us.Mohamed was great to meet on arrival and we didn`t need to call him at all for the rest of the week.Overall a very pleasureable place to stay with everything in walking distance."

"Clean and nice appartment. Beach and medina are one resp. a few kms away, alltough I thought the app. was more close to the medina. We had some problems coming from Marrakech to Essaouira. The promised bus was not there, so we had to improvise to go to Essaouira, which is a road under heavy construction. The circumstances for kitesurfing are excellent: great beach and LOTs of wind. We had some minor problems with the water-heating. After some trials there was a small gas explosion, but then we had hot water. Also one fuse would go out continuously. Thanks for the great week we had ! "

"We have just returned from one week in Essaouira, staying in Apartment Simoom. The apartment is light an airy. Simple decoration, with nice tiled flooring to keep the rooms cool. The kitchen has everything you would need for a short stay. The shower took us a while to master, but you just need to run the tap in the shower room sink until it goes hot, then put the shower on... easy peasy! We did not need to contact Mohamed with any problems... well, apart from about 15 minutes after we arrived... we left the apartment and couldnt get back in the front door haha. Embarrassed, we had to call him to help us out. We spent a lot of time travelling... so that is our excuse. Mohamed was there in about 5 minutes to help us out. Thanks Mohamed. The location of the apartment could not be better in my opinion. Right next door to the supermarket is a major plus!! The patisserie across the road is lovely, and they serve nice pastries and cakes everyday. The beach is about 5 mins (max) walk away. The medina is maybe about 15mins walk... but a nice walk along the beach. No hills to worry about, so an easy stroll. We didnt need to use a petit taxi to go anywhere, but if you wish to get one to or from the medina to the apt it is 6dirhams. The rooftop terrace is up the stairs from the apartment, leaving the apartment and heading up to the top floor, which I didnt know. This did not take away from our enjoyment of it. It shelters from most of the wind, leaving a nice breeze if you wish to sunbathe. We used the terrace maybe once or twice during the day, and only once at night. There is really nothing negative I can say about the property. It would be good to have some storage space for clothes to hang in the twin bedroom... even some hooks. Maybe also another set of keys. As two couples we were sometimes apart but had to make sure we were timing things right so no one was waiting outside. Thats all really! Thank you so much Swyen. We had a great time, and you have a lovely apartment. If returning to Essaouira again, which we would like to do, we will definitely stay in Apartment Simoom."

"We really enjoyed our stay in Essaouria! We had never been to North Africa before and found the welcome in Essaouria brilliant. The flat was in a good location- it was a pleasant walk to the beach and the medina. We made good use of the roof terrace as it protects from the worse of the wind and the sand. It also had everything that we could need and we were really comfortable. The airport pick up was really handy and Mohammed was very helpful. If you are in to wind sports then this is the ideal place but also we enjoyed some fantastic meals, hospitality, visited a hammam, went Quad biking! Thank you."

"We had a lovely week at Apartment Simoom. The transfer from the airport to the apartment was smooth and we were met by Mohammed at the apartment straight away. The location was great, not far from the Medina and the beach, and the supermarket next door was very handy indeed. Mohammed was incredibly helpful and dealt with any queries quickly and effectively. Overall a great apartment which we would definitely recommend."

"Thanks for a great place to stay whilst in Morocco! The apartment was superb and in a fantastic location for the beach, and the medina wasnt too far away to walk to either. Mohammed was a great help and was on hand at all times whenever we had any questions to ask him! Thanks Mohammed! "

"In a word, Perfect.
Just what we needed after a long period travelling, Apartment Simoom was an oasis of soothing and stylish calm. Mohamed the manager was particularly helpful, tending to our needs for the apartment, and more importantly getting our baby daughter seen quickly at the hospital when she had a fever. Thanks Mohamed!.
The apartment is beautifully decorated, and in a great place.

"The apartment was suitable for our family of 5 (2 adults, 3 teenage children). The supermarket downstairs was very convenient and the beach was nice and close. The walk to the Medina took about 15-20 minutes but was most enjoyable. We found it a bit noisy at night with sounds from the street. Overall a great week at this apartment in Essaouira."

"Property was excellently located and in walking distance from the Medina and even closer to the outstanding beach. The atmosphere was completely different to that of Marrakesh with the pace of life being much slower and more relaxed. Apartment located in a safe area opposite café selling fresh pastries and above a comprehensive supermarket and pharmacy. The apartment can easily accommodate four adults and the cooking facilities were adequate. We experienced minor problems with hot water but soon got the hang of the system and once Mohamed changed the gas (which he did within an hour of being called during Ramadan) all worked well. Absolutely satisfied and would definitely go back!!!"

"Fantastic in every way! Wonderful holiday, and didn't want to leave. The website pictures don't do either the apartment or Essaouira justice. Mohamed the manager was brilliant, couldn't do enough for us, and the airport pick-up was very slick. Highly recommend it to anyone. The position of the apartment is great, being very convenient for both the beach and Medina"

"The booking process was excellent and we were met, in Essaouira, by a very friendly representative who showed us around the property and gave us the keys. However, there was only one set of keys which was inadequate for five adults. This problem was compounded by the fact that the speaker phone did not work in the flat, hence we had no idea if someone was waiting down on the street to be let in. The apartment was on the top floor so shouting up was not an option. Indeed, two members of our party had to spend two hours in the heat, waiting for us to leave the apartment and let them in. Also, the hot water did not work. We tried several methods but there was not enough pressure in the apartment to fire up the gas heater. We did phone and ask for someone to come round, which they did, who confirmed that a plumber was needed. The plumber was booked in and we took time off to wait for him to turn up - he never did. It was a shame we had to spend some of our holiday time in pursuits normally associated with living in the UK and maintaining your own property. The flat itself was decent enough and there was plenty of spare bedding. It was clean and big enough for four people and perhaps two extra children. We struggled a little with five adults. The area was safe and only a 15/20 minute walk to the Medina. Good people in the shops around the apartment and a friendly, safe atmosphere."

Owner reply: :
I would like to say how sorry we are that your experience was anything other than perfect.
I realise that this will be small consolation to you, but we will ensure that in future there will be more than sufficient keys available. I am investigating what went wrong with the water heating system, and why the plumber did not arrive, and can only apologise again for the discomfort this caused.
I hope this did not ruin your enjoyment of your holiday in Essaouira

"Our stay in this apartment was the highlight of our time in Morocco! The apartment was clean, cool and freshly decorated - a home away from home. It is well positioned out of the "madding crowds", but within easy walking distance of all the major attractions and with the added bonus of being positioned right above a supermarket making catering for yourself a very easy job. The owner had provided plenty of helpful and interesting information about the area and facilities, including guidelines for shopping, dealing with the locals and getting around. The contact person in Morocco, Mohammed, was friendly, helpful and exceptionally pleasant to deal with, as was the property owner, making our stay all the more enjoyable. My friends and I have every intention of making Morocco a regular holiday and will definately choose to stay here again!"

"Very much enjoyed our stay in Apartment Simoom. The apartment has everything you need and we loved the locally made furniture and lamps. It remains cool even in the midday heat - although the roof terrace is great if you do want to sun yourself. Everything was within walking distance and we enjoyed exploring on foot - although we did use the petit taxis a couple of times and found them very good and cheap! We enjoyed breakfast in the patisserie opposite the apartment block almost everyday and ate out in the Medina most nights very well. Our pick up at Marrakech airport and handover with Mohammed went very smoothly and it was good to know we could contact him during our stay if we needed to."

"this is a fantastic apartment - well kept, well located... mohammed, the owners' 'man in morocco' was very helpful and honest - a great person to have at the end of the phone line in case of difficulty. i wouldn't hesitate in recommending this apartment to anybody visiting essaouira."

"Fantastic Apartment, and a great experience all round. The airport pick up was seamless, and Mohamed (the apartments local manager and general mr fixit) looked after all our needs throughout the stay brilliantly. The apartment more than met my expectations, in fact the Photos on the website don't do either the apartment or Essaouira justice. I will be going back, though next time I will take a warm fleece for the cool evenings!"

"We had a great time. The appartment was clean and well equipped with plenty of space and a nice terrace to sun yourself on. The local cafe's in the square were cheap and the service friendly. The beach was close and ideal for kitesurfing with a good thermal wind each day. The agent was very helpful and could sort out any language difficulties easily. Ideal area for Kitesurfing especially within the summer months."
