| "this is our second visit to Los Piedaos. It was even better than last time. the weather was hot in October the pool was lovely and the roof terrace is wonderful for eating, lazing, reading, watching the starts, staring endlessly at the gorgeous views.
my only little concern was that the second bedroom has a spot or two of damp which in this sort of building is probably not surprising, but the room was a bit musty and i would suggest a little maintenance over the winter and a freshen up. this is intended constructively not critically - the whole environment is exceptional and Shujata and David are the most helpful and unobtrusive owners. in addition to being really lovely people. go there. you wont regret it."

| "WE stayed here in April. It was divine. Isolated, quiet, beautiful. Surrounded by mountains, great views. Roof terrace was so enticing it was hard to draw ourselves away. The surrounding countryside is gorgeous. Preferred shopping in Lanjaron to Orgiva. Only minor complaint was the standard and amount of cutlery which definirely needed replacing. BUT it hasnt stopped us booking a return trip. We arrive Friday - hooray. Cant wait. Its a testament to the position, the Casita and the ambience that this is the first time we have ever returned to the same place......... Magic."

| "Very peaceful location in stunning scenery. Owner took care to ensure the casita was well equipped and stocked with essentials on arrival. Lots of beautiful features to the buildings and decor. Roof terrace was well used for sunbathing and quiet drinks in the evening.
It was very hot when we visited but there was always a breeze and the unique pool for cooling off. Everyone loved it.

| "Superb cortija, wonderful panoramic views from roof terrace. Very generous owners on site. Pretty well appointed but ewould benefet from a refresh of paint and soft furnishings. Logs on hand for cooler evenings, and a woodburner, great kitchen. Go there and youll never want to leave."

| "One of the best holidays weve had! Lovely casita in a beautiful setting, just close enough to a small town/large village to make shopping easy but far enough to feel that you really can get away from it all.
Regarding the village, Id been to the Alpujarras many times before, but Orgiva was a true discovery: a relaxing place in an idyllic setting but also very functional and quite modern in outlook. And there wont be many time youll have the chance to see a Buddhist monk carrying an Amazon parcel on your High Street.
Staying at Las Palomas in mid-March we were also glad to have the wood-burning stove and heating in the still quite chilly evenings, but the days were full of glorious (and fairly hot) sunshine.
If you want a truly relaxing holiday, this is it!
The only reason I wouldnt want to praise it too much would be that someone else might book it when were planning to go back!"

| "Stunning 360 degree views of the surrounding area from Las Paloma's roof terrace made this a very special place to stay. We were enchanted by the organic olive grove at Los Piedaos, the orange, lemon, almond, pomegranate and fig trees around the casita and we spent a considerable amount of time enjoying the accommodation and surrounding area. All four casitas are cleverly positioned so that while each is private you do not feel isolated. The swimming pool looked lovely but March was a little too early to take a dip! Further afield, driving around Las Alpujarras, especially to visit the little white mountain villages was exciting (the sheer drop from the road adding to the excitement!) and we had a wonderful day visiting the Alhambra in Granada (45 mins drive)
We would happily visit again.

| "Loved Las Palomas. The girls so enjoyed Max and Bonnie and the cats, Skye and ? Very memorable evenings spent on the roof terrace. The whole set up felt very carefully and thoughtffully arranged. Enjoyed the walks and very grateful for the wine and bread that welcomed us.
Message for David. San Jose a good destination prior to Almeria airport. Half and hour drive. Hotel Don Pakyta great outlook but souless hotel. But then it was a Sunday out of season.
Would like to come again soon.

| "What made Las Palomas so special was its location - as part of a group of casitas clustered around the owners' house on a rocky outcrop deep in the countryside. It was very quiet and peaceful, surrounded by olive groves, almond trees and mountains. The best part of Las Palomas was definitely the roof terrace, which afforded a wonderful 360 degree panoramic view of the mountains and surrounding countryside. Watching the sun come up and go down at the start and end of the day was an unforgettable experience and it was nice to have somewhere private to relax. The shared pool was lovely and the fact that you could go for walks, long and short, from Los Piedaos without even getting in your car was great. The children loved the owners' two dogs and cats, which we took for walks. Las Palomas was comfortably furnished, with some nice little quirky touches, and it was nice to have two bathrooms between the four of us. The air con was most welcome, too. One minor quibble was the lack of any sharp cooking knives, which would have made food preparaton easier and quicker! Also, the casita could have done with some more crockery and cutlery (there were only 3 dessert spoons). The owners were quite friendly, but we would have appreciated a visit on our first day after arrival to check we were getting on OK. As it turned out, we were fine. The huge amount of information and guide books supplied were a great help in making our stay more enjoyable."

| "The cottage was lovely, spacious and very well planned. We liked the fact that kitchen table was large enough for our extended family that stayed in La Concha. The roof terrace was wonderful with snowclad mountains in the background. Our boys, 8 and 12 years old, enjoyed the pool even though the water was still quite cold in the beginning of April. There are lots of good walks near the house through almond, olive and orange groves and it is also handy for walks higher up in Las Alpujarras (after a short drive). David and Shujatha were very warm, welcoming and helpful. Their friendly dogs followed us on many walks and made sure we didn't get lost. We also liked the fact that environmental technology was used, e.g. solar panels and an environmentally friendly pool. Highly recommended!"

| "Thank you so much to Shujetta and David Dry. We arrived (in a party of 14) having taken all 4 casitas for rent, to find the most wonderful properties and fabulous setting.
Their thoughtfulness and inviting touches to the holiday and casitas will never be forgotten.
The houses have been thoughtfully designed and equipped to cater for couples or parties. The scenery is wonderful and sharing their animals made our holiday exceptional. Max, Bonnie, Wicked Willy and Smoky made us relax and feel so much "at home!" Although visiting in October when rain was expected, we seemed to have been chosen as the "righteous". Sun tans to take back to dreary UK.
We'll certainly be back!
Thank you Shujetta and David - you were delightful.

| "A wonderful, well designed and relaxing holiday location which was baby freindly - even the roof top terrace had an optional baby gate to protect little crawlers! The reception of basic food and not so basic wine (deliscious!) was great after staying in dodgy accomodation in Granda. This location is certainly for those who intend a quiet retreat, with the primarly attraction being the walks and contemplatively appreciating the view from the terrace."

| "A lovely setting among olive trees. Comfortable cottage with everything provided including 24hr internet access which was great. A car is essential. Also important to stock up on snacks etc before you arrive as shops in Orgiva closed till 5.
Would definitely recommend as a place to relax and unwind."

Some may find the rutted track a challenge so could appreciate information on the condition and distance giving this information may influence the choice of a better suited hire car."

"This property suited us very well and we particularly enjoyed the rooftop terrace and air conditioning inside. We were disappointed the pool did not look clean and we were reluctant to
use it which was a pity as it had been one of the
main reasons for chosing this property."
Owner reply:
:
The swimming pools are purified by an ecological system that practically eliminates the need for chlorine. On two occasions over the last 12 years thundery weather has causes the water to lose its clarity and then we, reluctantly, are forced to use chemicals. This week we were rather late in starting the treatment as we had hoped the normal system would clear the water. The water was perfectly safe to swim in but it did not look very inviting for a few days.

| "A beautiful place to stay, just as described on the website, surrounded by olive, fig and almond trees. The buildings are very attractive and well designed, so that they are cool inside in hot weather. The roof terrace was a fantastic place to eat or relax, with panoramic views of the mountains. Our kids really enjoyed the pretty little swimming pool. We enjoyed walking in the mountain valleys, visiting the lovely white villages, and the Alhambra was amazing (best to book in advance). Spent less time than expected on the beaches, which were OK but quite crowded and grey sand or shingle. Recommend Cafe Baraka in Orgiva for great mint tea, ice cream and Moroccan snacks. Overall a great holiday."

| "We really enjoyed the 2 weeks we spent in Los Piedaos, casita Las Palomas. It was a great way of spending our holiday with 2 other families (friends), but stil have our own privacy, especially because all three families have small children. The casita's were very nice, really had everything we needed (except for a dishwasher:)
Even diapers, babyphone, toys for the kids, free internet. We enjoyed the swimming pool, the patios, the BBQ, the beautiful mountainviews.
If you are looking for accommodation for 3 families this is the perfect place!"

| "Enjoyed a lovely week.Everything provided as per webpage.Orgiva town is not as nice as we expected. The approach track leaves a bit to be desired,ok if you have a hire car or 4x4.Also the howling of the local dog packs at night was annoying, whether this is a local problem or national, we do not know, but it spoilt our peace on several nights. Overall,a beautiful place with splendid views and starry nights.Alpujarras are spectacular and very quiet off the beaten track."

| "The 360 degree views of the mountains from the roof terrace were amazing and although the temperature was mid 30's throughout our stay it didn't feel too hot because of the mountain breezes plus the air-con inside helped as we had two small children with us. The place is welcoming yet very private, you barely see the people staying in the other cottages."

| "I would definitely recommend Las Palomas to anyone wishing to enjoy a secluded rural location with stunning views and all mod cons. The website was professional, informative and accurate, as were the pre-visit details. A car is essential and the approach lane is long and narrow. The casita itself was ideal for two adult couples, with two en-suite bedrooms, a large, well equipped kitchen and both a roof terrace and a courtyard patio. Several sun-bathing areas round the shared pool gave privacy to each group. We were welcomed by pots of geraniums, flowers on the table and a bottle of wine ready to open; magic. We appreciated the information folder with advice on local walks, drives and places to eat. Much thought had gone into the comfort of guests; we didn’t need to use the extra heating, the washing machine or the ironing board, but it was good to know that they were available. The owner lives close to the casita; in his absence, it was easy to contact his deputy, who visited us shortly after our arrival. We loved Bonnie and Max, the friendly dogs who adopted us and came on our walks.
Overall, a delightful place which did ‘exactly what it says on the tin’.

I would recommend the area and accomodation as an excellent place to stay to get away from the rat race in England. You can see why so many Brits have moved out here permanently"
