"Villa is OK, but has issues. Many of them small enough for you to say Hey were getting this for a cheap price, we can forget this and that, but some of them large.
Pros:
- Good Pool
- Good sized Villa
- The beach 5 mins down the road (opposite direction to Kyrenia)
- When we had problems the Owner (in the UK) was onto each problem quickly trying to get in resolved
Cons:
- Electricity so expensive that we couldnt have the air con units on at night, this led to bad nights sleep and waking up in a pool of sweat plus you then needed the windows open to get some air in and were subsequently kept up by the neighbours numerous dogs which barked throughout the night almost every night.
- Our Electricity was connected up to another Villa for some reason (we found out by pure luck due to the problems we had with the trip) if we hadnt we worked out it would have cost us an extra £450)
- Our Electricity kept tripping out (nothing to do with the electricty going off for everyone - which happens constantly in North Cyprus) due to some bad wiring somewhere. One night this meant one of us had to stay up all night to ensure that the trip was switched back on so that the food in the fridge didnt go off
- Kemal (the gardener who maintains the house I am only the Gardener) is untrustworthy. One example would be the hooking up of the electricity i mentioned above, another example: telling us that the outside lights would be fixed that night, and then telling us it wasnt important enough to deal with 2 days later I have many other properties to look after with more important problems that this, you understand??. Another example: Theres a leak coming from the cold water in the upstairs bathroom. Answer from Kemal: stop the cold water to that bathroom and tell us hell fix it soon - didnt get done in the 2 weeks we were there...!!! When we complained to the owner, word got back to Kemal, and he had a row with me, telling me I was difficult
- Shade by the pool - Northern Cyprus is Hot, Very hot!! And you do need shade if youre sitting by the pool. There were a lot of broken Parasols in the garden when we got there and when we asked Kemal whether we could get a new one, he just told us that the last people broke them. When we pressed him, he said hed sort something out, and proceeded to create one by putting an old stand in a bucket of concrete and then putting a partly broken parasol umbrella into it, it worked for a week and then broke, we asked for another one but never got anything
To give you an idea of Electricity cost if youre thinking of renting: We stopped using the dishwasher and did it by hand, and used the air con units spareingly (and never all through the night). Our Electricity would have come to about £45 extra (if wed been charged for the first 2 days as well - we werent due to us finding out that we were hooked up to someone else and paying for them as well so ours came to £35)
"
Owner reply:
:
Paul, your review is disingenuous at best.
Everyone in Northern Cyprus has to use aircon sparingly at this time of year, not just you! - the alternative is that you can pay 5 times what you paid for a villa. This villa is such good value that I can not do that! How much electricity you use is after all up to you.
I understand that you didnt get on with Kemal, and it seems that there was a personality clash there, perhaps because as you say you caught him out. But many people have got on very well, with him and regard him as a major advantage of the villa. Normally there is nothing he will not do to help people.
Your electricity was not connected to another villa, but some connection were made (against my wishes) so that a hedge could be cut with an electric hedge cutter. For this error on our part you were more than compensated and yet you make an issue of this in your review. This will not happen to anyone else ever, so the fact that you feature it so prominently makes me think that this is something that is in your nature rather than a genuine attempt to help other users of this site.
- Mark.

| "The property is very large, and as described. The owner was helpful beforehand and whilst there the manager was friendly and helpful.
The pool was fab, it needed attention during our stay, the pool man came promptly and did a great job. Plenty of linen and towels, kitchen is well equipped, but couldnt get the oven to work, we felt the kitchen could have been a little cleaner. Although pre-warned we felt the cost of electricity was prohibitive and the supply cut off frequently. We were disappointed with the outside area, broken items of furniture and lots! of bird dro ppings from the many birds, mainly pigeons, which drank from the edge of the pool constantly and gathered in large numbers on the roof and upper terrace. A neighbouring dog barked from appx 4-6am and 4-6pm each day.
What was a lovely villa could have been spectacular with more maintenance and TLC.

| "The villa is in a beautiful location, would suit persons wanting to be away from the hussle and bussle of town, though Kyrenia is only a 20 min bus ride away.
I would really recommend hiring a car to get around easily, especially as buses stop running at 7pm, most companies have a minimum rental period so book early in your stay.
The villa is well equiped and spacious, two of the double bedrooms are ensuite. The pool is a really good size, and there are plenty of sunbeds and seating outside.
The owner was very helpful and helped make our holiday run smoothly, the site manager lives nearby and has good local knowledge.
You must visit Aphrodite restaurant, Jamal the owner is a real character!
Beaches are private and subject to an entrance fee but you can haggle to reduce the cost.
Overall we had a great holiday and would recommend this villa."

| "We had an excellent holiday in Cyprus and the villa was great. It is located in a quiet residential area off the main road but still very handy for shops and restaurants. The villa is spacious and well equipped, with masses of storage for cloths and belongings. For the first time ever on holiday we didnt have to live out of suitcases and there were plenty of hangers in the wardrobes. We were well looked after by Jeff the local manager and his wife and they cooked an fantastic barbecue for us one night. Jeff was always happy to help and give advice about eating out or sightseeing."

| "Spacious - well presented property - beautiful scenery - great pool - Very helpful site manager.
Good Beaches close by as well as supermarkets and bars.
Hire Car essential but inexpensive. Traffic in nearby Kyrenia can be slow.
Highly recommended
