"Ideal for getting away from it all. Charming farmhouse in picturesque setting, but within easy reach of local facilities. Excellent swimming pool and plenty of games for the children. An added bonus was the plentiful supply of fruit & veg from the garden."

"Very nice property - the quietest we have ever stayed in (much appreciated by my husband particularly and even our two daughters slept in late which is usually unheard of!). Well, and very comfortably furnished and equipped and the owners were very helpful and attentive, visiting three times during the week to clean the pool and answer our numerous questions! Personally, I would have preferred to be a little bit closer to amenities as there were very few (decent) restaurants close by and most places were at least 20 mins drive away. I realise though that we may not have had such peace and tranquiliity if we were closer to larger villages and towns. Lovely gardens although we were unfortunately unable to sit out in them as we were mugged by flies every time we stepped out of the door (property backs on to woods). Fine around the pool though. Would recommend taking your own bath towels as the ones provided were very small, thin and rough so we ended up using the pool towels that we had brought."

"A very comfortable, well furinshed and very well equipped villa located in a secluded and private area away from any hustle and bustle. We loved relaxing by the pool, wonderful walks from the front door, having space to chill out inside and outside the villa, and the peace and quiet that enabled us to unwind from the moment we arrived. Local facilities are good, and a short car drive away. If you are looking for bright lights and night life, go somewhere else. If you are looking for comfort, beautiful surroundings and privacy, book it now! Paul and Olivier took great care to ensure we enjoyed our holiday, but were never intrusive. A fantastic holiday enjoyed by the whole family - we hope to return soon."

"The property was very clean and well looked after. Paul and Olivier had furnished it to a very high standard and included lots of extras that you wouldnt expect. Nice to receive a bottle of wine and provisions when we arrived. The house is in a fantastic location and it was great to open the bedroom curtains on day 1 and see 2 deer in the garden. Great for wildlife spotters! Our boys enjoyed that they could walk straight into the woods to discover animals and climb trees. The area has lots to offer and everything is within easy travelling distance. This home has been the best we have stayed in and would definately recommend it"

" Lovely clean property in very quiet, tranquil location. Definitly an excellent choice for a family who enjoy being in the countryside. The owner Paul was very helpful and made us feel very welcome."

"The villa is in a secluded & quiet location and provides excellent accomodation which is clearly well looked after. We arrived to complimentary bottle of wine & chocolates and the children were delighted to find free Wi-fi access (luckily we brought the laptop with us) and free Sky channels. There is a good sized garden and the pool is well maintained (the owner came every couple of days to clean it but kept a very low profile). There was also an exercise bike & rowing machine in the garage to use. The surrounding area is beautiful with fields full of sunflowers and unspoilt French hamlets. The market in Villamblard is almost non-existant but Bergerac is in easy reach although we didnt stray far from the pool. Would love to return!"

"It was immediately obvious to me that the photos on this web site do not do this property justice. It is well equipped, tastefully decorated, and well looked after. We had a wonderful time here. There are only three properties on this dead-end road so it is wonderfully secluded. The week we spent here will be remembered for a very long time!"

Review submitted by Ken from Portishead (Submitted: 19/08/2008)
"Campagnac villa is the best weve had in France. It is light and airy, with none of the damp and musty smells that are prevalent in barn conversions in the Dordogne. The English owners are diligent and courteous and the villa is well equipped to a high standard. If looking for a quiet holiday - the nearest town is four kilometres away - we would thoroughly recommend it."

"Thank you for a lovely holiday! Weve enjoyed it very much. The villa was perfect! The children liked the pool very much. (we also...). Thanks for your hospitality and who knows..... maybe until a next time!!"

"Everything that was said in the description was 100% accurate. We asked a few questions before booking and they were answered with total honesty and born out when we arrived. The sevice and attention we received from the owners was better than 100%. Should mention that there is excersie equipment in the garage. Not mentioned on the write up. Could not fault the place, the service, the pool, the gardens, the tranquility. Discount for under occupancy-2 people was a bonus. Richard"

"We live and work in the North of France and wanted to get away for a break to relax and unwind. The villa did not disappoint and the location was fabulous. We had everything we needed for a perfect holiday and the sunshine and blue skies were an added bonus. All this and we got a discount too!"

"Andrew and I stayed at the villa last year. We loved the place and having stayed in a lot of places in France this was by far the best property. Definitely recommend this villa and we will be coming back."

"The photos do not do justice to the villa, which on arrival we found to be really superb. The setting in the countryside at the end of a quiet lane is fantastic. Nobody to disturb you. The property was spacious and well furnished and not far way from the nearby village, one afternoon with the sun shining we walked along the local footpath to the village, great scenery. Next time we will stay longer."

"I am sure I can speak on behalf of Gill and our children as well as myself to say that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at your lovely villa and much appreciated your care and attention, especially the recommendation to visit St Emilion on the way back to Bordeaux, which was a very interesting drive as well as being a splendid little town to see. Thank you again and we will certainly be in touch for a return visit should we decide to come back to the Dordogne in the future. "

" It was so good we did it twice returning again this year which is a first for us. If you are looking for rural peace and and a wonderful scenic location spent in a very stylish well equipped villa then this is the place for it. What with the pool, the views and the peace it's hard to get out but if you want to Paul and Oliver offer a wealth of local info and advice without being intrusive. Highly recommended."

Review submitted by Davia from Seattle USA (Submitted: 07/06/2007)
"The private pool is really a private pool, with no other people or dwellings in sight. The villa was more luxurious than we expected, tastefully decorated and supplied with every convenience: fully equipped kitchen, washing machine, satellite tv, high-speed internet access and a landline international phone that lets you call around the world for free. Lazing on the patio by the crystal clear pool (beautifully tiled, in-ground pool kept sparkling clean) was our favorite pastime and we were constantly entertained by the antics of the little geckos that scampered about and by the variety of birdsongs coming from the surrounding forest. The place is magical and lovely and the location is perfect for exploring the region. The Perigord is lush and green, with gently rolling hills laced with intriguing roads that lead you through a succession of charming villages, no matter which direction you choose to go. There are mysterious troglodyte sites and mediaeval towns to visit with a variety of restaurants and cafes, boulangeries and patisseries. Paul and Olivier are the perfect hosts, and were happy to help with information about the surrounding area. We stayed for a month, so we really had a chance to explore. The high-speed internet connection and free international telephone helped us keep in touch with our business while enjoying the luxury of the villa. This is a “dream villa” and we can’t wait to return."

"The villa was full of useful information - places to visit, things to do, where the local shops were, everything you could want or need to know. I was given exceptional directions to the villa and the local super-market near the airport, we were shown around and greeted by a bottle of wine, milk and juice in the fridge and all necessary condiments to hand. The villa was spacious, clean and very well presented. Thank you for a lovely holiday, i have already recommended the place to many of my friends!"

Review submitted by Heather and Mike from Northern France (Submitted: 25/09/2006)
"On arrival, the property feels really clean, and every effort is made to make you feel at home. It is a perfect retreat from the busy world to help you relax and have a great holiday. The living room is large, with plenty of room to spread out into, and everything is kept in good condition. If we get time, we would love to return next year. We only had one complaint which is the size of the dinner plates (too small) - everything else was perfect."

Owner reply: :
We always try to listen to our guests comments and have taken note and changed the dinner service for a completely new service with larger plates.

"This property has everything you need for a relaxed and comfortable holiday. The villa is in a lovely quiet location, yet close enough to both small and big towns not to feel isolated. Travelling by car is essential to reach areas of interest that'll keep the children enterained. Time to reach these areas will range from 30mins to 90 mins. Local supermarkets excellent value, restaurants close to Mussidan and in Bergerac are outstanding. The owners were extremely helpful and always on hand to answer questions and give advice."

Review submitted by Andrew from SE London (Submitted: 26/07/2006)
"The villa in excellent condition and the whole property was well maintained. The situation of the villa enabled us to relax in peace and comfort .The Pool was cleaned every two days and although not very large was just right for cooling off after a session on the sunloungers. It was only a short drive (10 miles) to the nearest supermarket which catered for all our needs, including cheap petrol for the car!"

Review submitted by Mike & Viv from Campagnac Villa, Bergerac (Submitted: 16/07/2006)
"We had a great holiday experience staying at the excellent value for money Campagnac Villa which manages to combine every modern convenience within some elegant style whilst being located in a timeless rural setting thereby giving the happy visitor the best of both worlds. The villa is maintained to the highest standard, Paul and Oliver most welcoming and helpful without being intrusive. We enjoyed fabulous walks, horse riding, crazy boules and too many pastries from the lovely local village Villemblard. A more beautiful relaxing environment would be hard to find. And a pool too!"

"We were made to feel welcome by the owner and there were some nice touches on our arrival. The villa is in a beautiful, quiet location and you feel you have the surrounding countryside entirely to yourself. The pool was kept very clean and the kids loved it. The villa was well equipped (although please get some more bigger dinner plates as we loved cooking the local produce). There was plenty of info on what to do in the local area, and we had some great days out. It was perfect for our holiday and we enjoyed it very much. Can't fault it in any way."

"It was a wonderful holiday and the villa was of exceptional high standard with lots of attention to detail. I think an inventory should be left so we could have checked that all glasses etc were there. Pool was cleaned every 2 days. "

"The villa is luxuriously furnished, well maintatined and presented. Every convienence you might expect from your home is there. The pool is ideal for a small family. The grounds are not overlooked and the surrounds are very quiet. We had an excellent holiday and we recommend Campagnac Villa unreservedly. The owners were extremely helpful and not at all intrusive."

"Having stayed in several gites/villas over the years this property was by far the best. Beautifully furnished and the attention to detail was exceptional. Set in this particularly beautiful part of France we would highly recommend this Villa. We were well looked after by Paul & Olivier who visited every other day to maintain the pool but were very helpful with advice and suggestions about activities and visits available in the area"

Review submitted by Linda from Aylesbury (Submitted: 17/06/2004)
"This villa is perfect. Ideal for everyone whether you want to chill out and relax or use it as a base to discover the heart of the Dordogne. It is fantastic value for money, luxury is probably an understatement. It is extremely well decorated and furnished with all the modern conveniences anyone could need. The rooms are bright and airy and the beds very comfortable. We had a wonderful week here and would recommend it to anyone. The owners are very helpful and considerate to the guests they went out of their way to ensure we had a good holiday without being intrusive. The hardest part of the holiday was tearing ourselves out of the sunloungers by the pool to explore the surrounding area which is full of character and history. There is so much to do that next time we will have to go for longer. If you want rest and relaxation this is definitely the place to go. If you want adventure it offers this too, there genuinely is something for everyone."
