| "We arrived (4 Adults 2 Children) early September. The weather was absolutely perfect. We had the top floor of the villa which is extremely spacious with a wonderful sun room running the whole length of the property.
Furnished with original 60-70s furniture was practical and comfortable.
Lots of things provided like beach towels and beach toys for the kids which was unexpected.
The BBQ area is particularly nice for evening dining. The terraces for sun bathing are so well planned.
But do take CDs etc for your entertainment as the owners are Dutch and the TV, books and Videos are mostly German.
We felt we had a private beach as during our time there we only saw one other family on OUR beach and that was for just a couple of hours.
The beach is stone, pebbles and sand but really grows on you day by day. You can walk for miles in both directions.
Almerimar a couple of miles away with its delightful Marina is so peaceful and a real pleasure to visit. Lots of restaurants at extremely reasonable prices. Italian, Spanish, Chinese and French all about £45 for the six of us.
We needed only shorts and tops for the whole holiday and could have managed with simple carry on luggage.
After all those resort holidays we have taken this was literarily a breath of fresh air and a truly memorable one.
It really is what holidays are about."

| "My family of six adults stayed in this wonderful beach house in October 2005. The location is absolutely idyllic, right on the beach. This can be a bit noisy due to bikers and the waves, but hey, it was reasonably priced, and we can go to a monastery for complete silence!
Due to the location with no street or city lights to spoil the darkness at night, I was able to study the stars as I have never before. It was absolutely staggering, believe me. We could almost read by the starlight, so bright was it.
It was only 7-8 minutes by car to the Copo shopping centre, and only 2-3 minutes to the local village of Matagorda for the pub and small Coveran supermarket. In the West direction, less than 5 minutes got you to the town of Berja where you could find almost anything you could need. 8 Minutes East was the resort of Almerimar, very overdeveloped already, and much more to come. But if you want a Chinese meal that's where you will find several to choose from.
Overall this place was great value for money, and with the new kitchen it will score 10/10 for us the next time we visit. The furniture and equipment were fine, maybe the Lakshmis have all new stuff at home and expect the same everywhere else. We did not notice the bad smells either, maybe it was only there for a short time in 2006.
So you get comfort, seclusion and privacy together with easy access to civilisation when you want it it.
The owner, Klaas, was always available to help or advise,when needed.

| "Having read the only other review for this property, which appeared after paying for our booking, I was very concerned about what to expect. I took 7 relatives, with ages from 21-60 for my 50th Birthday. The photos do not do the villa justice. It is very large and with five females there was never a queue for the two bathrooms. the only queue was for the external cold water shower, which was fabulous after sunning on the beach, or many terraces the villa had. The views from the panoramic lounge were fantastic, with sea and mountains in view. We took a selection of DVSs, but only watched one in the whole week, as the villa was so relaxing.The external barbeque area is great. The beach is safe and secluded - ideal for skinny dipping. The water is clear and very clean with no sewage, it slopes to a depth of 1 metre then stays like that for at least 50 metres. We are already planning our next visit, and hope to stay for a much longer time. The visitors' book is full of praise from young and elderly visitors - some staying upto 2 months, with the only niggle being flies or jelly fish, which are seasonal and totally out of anyones control! We had a problem with the flies, but so did the whole of Almeria, and found by using the screens, eating outside after dark and sunbathing at the water's edge they were no problem.
