| "Really nice well equiped property, finished to a high standard. Lovely patio/garden area, which had shade as well as sun cracking weather too. Pool/grounds were fab and really well kept/clean and tidy. Good information about the place and surrounding area in the apartment. No problems parking the car.
For purely feedback purposes, like others we struggled to find the office to pick up the keys and when we got there the place was empty (close at 2pm on a Saturday) which really worried me for a bit. Spoke to the agent on the phone though and picked the keys up from the safe outside. Struggled a bit to find the apartment but thats probably down to our sense of direction than anything. Would have been nice to have had the peace of mind of knowing we could have got our hands on spare keys if the worst happend. Had to complain to the neighbour 2 doors up after 3 days about her continuous barking (2) small dogs after which, in fairness, we heard no more from them for the rest of the holiday.
Overall, we had a good time and apart from the few niggles above, which, to be honest were not the end of the world, so thank you for such a great place. We loved it!"

"Very nicely kept property, kitchen was especially well-equipped - the only thing we thought should have been there that we couldnt find was a chopping board.
It did rain heavily and solidly for over 24 hours while we were there, and the drains started to smell a bit, which was probably a general problem.
What we had trouble with was the directions to the agent to collect the keys on arrival, and then to a lesser extent to find the house afterwards. The directions were from Malaga only and we flew to Gibraltar, so were approaching from the opposite direction. They were also out of date with regard to names of petrol stations and other landmarks, and some distances quoted werent accurate. My advice would be dont turn up in the dark if the directions havent been updat ed!
The property itself was very pleasant though, although you really do need a car to get around as it is a bit out of the way."
Owner reply:
:
Happy to hear you enjoyed the stay in our house, even though the weather was not the best when you were there.
The drainage in our area does suffer there when the rain is excessively heavy as it struggles to cope. Fortunately its not very often that it rains so heavily so this is a rare occurance.
We had supplied 3 new chopping boards before the summer, so apologies if theyve since disappeared. Unfortunately these things happen. Sad but true.
I take the point about the directions, they were done some time ago and I had hoped to get them re-written for the season this year. As you mentioned some landmarks have since changed, its hard to keep up! I do add a link to the google map of our location and also the agent does supply a map of how to find our house from their office, but I suppose you also have to find the office first! Ill ensure this is sorted out before the next season. Any suggestions on good landmarks to mention would be appreciated.
A car, as Ive mentioned a few times previously, is essential to get the most out of a holiday in our house.

All the games, maps and tourism information were very useful and kind. It will be great to install the climatisation in all bedrooms. It was a bit difficult to understand the way to go to the house rental for the keys."

"The property was lovely and had everything we needed. you definately need a car to get about in this location but are on the main road to everything which made it easy for excursions along the coast and to gibralter.
The only gripe I would say is that the air con in the bedroom wasnt up to much but that was it. Would definately recommend the villa was lovely and perfect for our needs."
Owner reply:

Thank you for your nice review.
I asked our agent to check the bedroom a/c. It turns out that you had not got it set up to cool, only to dehumidify. He changed the setting on the remote control to cool and its working fine now.

| "We jave just arrived back from Las Lomas after a week there with 5 adults & 2 children and we couldn't of picken a nicer villa. It was hard to find it as directions where a bit off putting but we got there in the end and couldn't be happier. What we liked most about it was the cleanliness and homeliness that met us when we first opened the door I loved the fact that there was no shop within walking distance as my 8 yr old would of been hounding us constantly to go buy something we relaxed all day long by the pool & sat out on the patio all night Beds where very comfrotable and all round totally delighted with it We WILL return next year Thanks so much Naomi for your home away from home."

"The townhouse is kept in very good condition and is set in a small well ordered compound. There is a very pleasant patio area to the rear of the house - perfect for breakfast and BBQs. The pool and garden area is also kept clean and in good order. We were there in late March so it was quiet; apart from some barking dogs! - kept in other properties on the compound.
The biggest problem is finding the house and the agents. It might be useful for more explicit and detailed directions to be given to renters prior to arrival. The agent is very helpful and I would advise people to keep his telephone number to hand.
We had a small problem with the electricity cutting off when the dishwasher and washing machine were on together. It was easily solved but it might be an idea to locate the electric fuse box and the mains trip switch before dark.
I would strongly recommend a car, as the beach is not what I consider to be within walking distance. Estepona (10 minute drive) is a lovely small town with a great play park for kids on the promenade.
Our party of three adults and three children were very comfortable in the house, and greatly enjoyed our week in this part of Spain.
"
Owner reply:
:
Thanks for your review Joyce and I'm glad to see you were well taken care of and enjoyed your holiday.
As you know, we were out there the previous week to you, and when I was there it was apparent that some of the landmarks on the directions have changed recently and I will be updating the directions to be clearer. Having noticed this, I did send you a map by email, but you were on holiday from work by that point. Additionally, I now include a hyperlink to a very accurate map which shows the exact location of the house, and this can be printed off inboth map format or satellite image of the area.
We used to have a problem with the fuse tripping occassionally during the winter especially when multiple electricity greedy applicances were being used simultaneously,so we had the fuse box upgraded to a larger electrical capacity. I'm glad you told me about this though, as it may be that some of the fuse loading needs some further attention. We didn't have the same problem when we were there, but we're over there again at the beginnng of May so we'll be experimenting with the loading of the fuses and get it sorted out.
We had provided a torch in the house, hung on the coat hook next to the fuse box to help out in such situations, however, this was soon removed by a thoughtless guest along with many other items I'd left there to be of use to other guests. Sadly that kind of thing happens now and again.
The distance to the beach very much depends on how much you like to walk! Personally, I wouldn't walk it. For two reasons, there is no footpath so you need to walk in the road, and the Spanish are pretty speedy with their driving. Also, although our local beach is convenient, it's not the best by a long way - I much prefer the one in Estepona itself or the one just the other side of Estepona, Playa Cristo and you'd need the car to get to either of these. A car is also useful for carrying beach bags, mats, wind breaks etc. We have had people who've managed there without a car, so it is possible, but they were the more adventurous type and got about by walking or bus. I personally think there are so many lovely places to go and things to see in that area, that to not have a car to get to them would be a real shame.

We had a very good week at Las Lomas!
There was only two things that dissapointed the children and that was that the pool and the green area in the middle was closed the whole week, and that Selwo is closed until 15. february
But apart from that we had everything we needed for a superb holiday!
A car is a needed during the stay, but with it you can visit both Gibraltar, Ronda and other fab places.
We will surely recomend it to others, and we will be back. But next time I thing we will try the easter in Andalucia."

"We had an excellent week and the weather was brilliant considering it was October. The property was well equipped clean and comfortable.
Despite the instructions to park in the allocated parking bay however we were never able to do so as there was a car parked permenantly in that space. As a result we had to "squeeze" the car in between the two neighbours cars outside the front door.
You definitely need a car to stay here. Unfortunately eating out means a drive into Estepona so someone has to be prepared not to drink!"
Owner reply:
:
Thank you for your review Elaine. I'm glad you had a good holiday. We've always had good weather in October whenever we've been, and it's a cheap month for flights too, so a good month to choose.
I'm disappointed about the car parking issue. The allocated space is clearly marked and is for the sole use of our property, and no one else, so I shall take this up with our development chairman to ensure it doesn't happen again. Unfortunately, we can do everything possible to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable, but we can't control the actions of other people!
you're right that a car is necessary. We always recommend hiring a car, as we're just that bit too far away from town to walk it. However, the taxi's from town are very reasonable, at around €8 last time we used one, if you'd prefer to leave the car at home.

We had some helpful e-mails prior to the stay from the owner of the house - thankyou!

Thanks for letting me know about the A/C - I've had it checked by our management agent but they couldn't find any problem with it. However they are going to get it serviced asap in any case, although the unit was new last summer, so theoretically shouldn't be developing problems this soon.
Our management agent, who's local to our house, is always available for all such issues, so it would have been a good idea to contact him as he's there to help.

Nice quiet development - when we were there, over Easter, the pool area was not open, but then the weather was not great, so it didn't really matter. There is also someone available 24/7 should you encounter any problems.
I would highly recommend this place but you definately need a car."

Owner reply:
:
For clarity, the busy road to which Simon refers is the N340 which is the main coast road which runs along most of the coast seperating the beach from the inland areas. Our house is not near this busy road, we are some half kilometer from the road. Our area is very quiet. The nearest beach to us is the Padron beach, which is reached by a small road which passes beneath the N340. This is the location of the latest new development in our area - the Laguna Village, which contains the luxury beach club, Puro Beach. There are numerous clean sandy beaches with showers, toilets, changing facilities etc along our stretch of the Costa del Sol which can be reached within minutes by car, so it's not that necessary to go to our local beach if the close proximity of the road is an issue. I would always recommend hiring a car when staying at our house as it's not really possible to get the most out of staying in the region without one.
Always nice to hear that our guests enjoyed their stay at our house and would book again. Hope to see you again soon!

Having seen the photographs of the villa we were expecting high standards and were not disappointed. All the rooms are a great size and 2 bathrooms and a cloakroom was very useful.
Over all the house was very clean and tidy and had everything we needed. The cots we hired were fine and fitted nicely in the rooms. Although the cot and the highchair that belong in the property were in execellent condition compared to the hired ones.
The villa is in easy reach of shops, town centre, attractions and Gibraltar. It's also not too far from the airport, but glad we hired a car.
We have recommended it to friends and family and will hopefully be going back again next year.

| "We stayed at this house earlier in the year on our first trip to Spain. In need of a break from the UK weather and hoping Spain would do the trick! Fortunately we had some really good, sunny days, wearing t-shirts in January, and even the wet days were still warm enough to not need a coat.
Had some good days of golf, tried a different course each time.
We were especially glad of the heating in the house in the evening. Although the days were pleasant the nights were chilly.
We found it to be a good base and we visited Casares, Rhonda, Benahavis, Marbella, Puerto Banus and even Gibraltar. Estepona was delightful and so unspoilt. The area is really very beautiful.
Had several excellent meals and was pleasantly surprised by how cheap it was to go out in Spain.
We hired a car from a company which had been recommended to us by the owner. We probably could have managed without as we are keen walkers, but wouldn’t have done the trips we did without it.
There were 4 of us, 2 couples, and there was plenty of room, having 2 bathrooms and a downstairs toilet was particularly useful. We were impressed by how well equipped it was, the kitchen especially had everything we needed. The house was immaculately clean, hotel standard I would say, and very well maintained. Most importantly, lots of hot water whenever we needed it......!
We collected the keys from the management agent at 11pm without any problem, he has a safe outside his office for the keys, so you can arrive at any time of the day or night, and had good directions for finding the house.
Would thoroughly recommend staying here, and we are hoping to have another break there again ourselves, after the summer this time, so we can see the lovely plants and flowers that we missed on a winter visit, and hopefully get some good walks into the hills surrounding the house. I don't know why we waited so long to visit Spain, we're definately converts now!
Just a point to add. I'd prepared this review before seeing the previous one about the location. I just wanted to say that I personally would not rate the house as being in the middle of nowhere. By car it was a matter of a couple of minutes to be on the main coast road (N340 I think) and then another 5 minutes maximum to the town of Estepona. If you were without a car with small children, then perhaps it would feel isolated.

"Property was excellent and facilities were great. Location was not so good - reading it off the internet it looks as if the complex is just near the marina but it is actually in the middle of nowhere.
This wasn't a major concern but as our husbands play golf, we were keen to get somewhere that we could walk from. There is a small beach that you could walk to but it is not a good walk with small children as cars drive very fast round the bends. We did have 2 cars but had we only gone for one car, I think we would have been stranded whilst the golfers were playing a round of golf."
Owner reply:
:
I’m sorry that Karen was disappointed with the location even though she was happy with the accommodation overall.
I do pride myself on being honest and not misleading, so I was surprised by her review. As the booking was made without any enquiry about the location, I didn’t personally have the opportunity to explain exactly where the house was. However, the website details of the house include a map which clearly shows where the property is located, along with a description of the location being 800 metres to the sea and 5 minutes to Estepona. There is a photo of the marina in Estepona along with several photos of other places to visit such as Duquesa, Marbella, Puerto Banus and Casares for visual information about the local area.
Other reviews from previous renters recommend the use of a car, and we always use one there ourselves, however we have had several guests who have managed well without one by using buses and taxis. They would definately be the more enterprising type of holiday maker though! I would always recommend having a car available, even if only to take you to and from the airport as the rental cost for a week is similar to the cost of a return taxi journey.
From June this year there will be a new beach club opening on the beach closest to us and this will include shops and restaurants as well as open air pools. It’s part of the Kempinski Hotel resort and will be called Laguna Village. This will be within walking distance, but as Karen rightly points out, the walk is not suitable for small children owing to the type of local driving!
I suppose it depends what you are looking for in a holiday. Most people love the house because it is set back from the coastal developments and it gives the real impression of being in Spain yet being close enough to everything that it only takes minutes to be in the hub of it all. However if you need accommodation that’s in the middle of town with nightlife, shops and restaurants on your doorstep, this is not the place for you.

We had the communal pool all to ourselves for the 2 weeks of our stay plus there was no shortage of sun beds. We made use of the of the patio and BBQ as it catches the sun all day.

| "August 2005
With no previous experience of renting a holiday home abroad but with reasonably high expectations, this still left room to be pleasantly surprised.
The house itself was well equipped, light and hospitable with the private patio catching the sun for most of the day; ideal for drying washing, towels and swimming costumes etc (or an evening BBQ).
Was never left needing a sun bed by the communal pool/garden when spending time around the house and the local beach with a couple of restaurant bars and toilet/shower facilities was also very well received and welcome.
Plenty of attractions and activities close by to stop a family of 5 getting bored for two weeks but unless you wanted to lock yourself in the house for the duration of the holiday, a car is really a must.
A word of caution, don’t trust restaurant recommendations from previous occupants,… their taste and idea of an excellent Chinese may not be the same as yours!!
I would have no hesitation in recommending this house to a friend, or going back myself. We all really enjoyed our holiday.

| "Having never rented a holiday home privately before, we were quite nervous about this holiday. We had always previously been on holiday on a package trip to a hotel or self catering apartment, but fancied something different this time.
We were really impressed with this house.
Considering it was a rental property, it felt more like staying in someone's home.
It was exceptionally well equipped, there was nothing we needed that hadn't been provided. It had been well prepared for our arrival, towels folded nicely on the beds, and was very clean.
In general the area was quiet. A few barking dogs, and you could sometimes hear the next door neighbours, but coming from a semi detached house ourselves, we were used to that! Tiled floors aren't the best for sound insulation I suppose!!
The weather was super when we were there and only needed to use the heating a couple of evenings, which we found was effective.
The advert description was accurate, no nasty surprises - only nice ones!
We have already recommended this house to our friends and if we ever go to Spain again, would definately like to stay there again.
We were very well looked after, both by the owner and by the management agent. We were sent lots of information about the house, driving instructions and a couple of maps too which were really helpful.
I'm sure anyone renting this house would have a good holiday and not be disappointed.
