"The owner explained eveything about access to the property before we got there which made things so simple. The old fashioned lift intrigued my mother of 77years. The supermarket was within walking distance and every morning my husband sped off to collect the croissants and bread on his own. I would recommend this property to anyone who loves the south of France as we do. It was just like coming home, comfortable, clean and everything to hand that you could possibly want. Thanks for a wonderful holiday - we will certainly be back."

"Arrived at the property full of expectations from what we had seen on the website but unfortunately we were very disappointed. Lounge chair covered with old sheets, bedroom linen lookd nothing like that displayed on the website photographs. Very disappointed with presentation of accommodation, so much so that we left and found alternative accommodation. Very disappointing."

Owner reply: :
We were absolutely flabbergasted when we received this review.

This was the first communication with the client’s in question. If they had telephoned us, using the contact numbers displayed in the apartment, we could have discussed and acted on the matters that arose. However as they did not, this leads us to believe they had no intention of staying in Nice and just want a complete refund.

Anyway to answer the points raised:

The “old sheets” referred to in the review are in fact “Cream Throws” that are placed over the two sofas to protect them. They are a few months old and are regularly washed. (Our cleaner would be devastated if someone had called them dirty as she is so meticulous.)

All our bed linen is of the same quality and standard. We have numerous sets and the ones that are displayed on the website were being laundered.

Clearly we don’t ask clients in advance which colour they prefer!! (But I suppose it’s a thought!)

We would like to have been told what their “expectations” were as the description of the apartment on the website is wholly correct (as you will see from all the previous reviews.)

Please refer to the reviews below to receive a true and accurate appraisal of Le Palais des Fleurs.

"Close to the town centre and the beach."

"The apartment is in a lovely building and is furnished pleasantly , in a very convenient location . We had assumed that the apartment would have airconditioning and it was extemely hot - a phonecall to the owner however brought action beyond the call of duty in that he arrived with a fan - which made all the difference . A great stay ,all in all ."

"This was our second stay at the property as we found it an excellent option for a family visit to Nice. The price compared even to budget hotels is good when travelling with another couple to share the cost. The location is excellent close to rail network, restaurants and supermarket. The apartment facilities are ideal when travelling with a child with a large supermarket at the end of the street. This property more than met our expectations being clean and spacious and gave us a real taste of French living in the city centre. Have recommended this property to friends who have also since booked and would recommend to others."

"Spacious, clean and well situated for a city break to Nice."

"This was our first time in Nice and we wanted apartment situated centrally. The apartment was very cozy and all the amenities were included. Bathroom whirlpool behaved a little strange, and the water reached the floor too easily, but otherwise stay in this beautiful old elegant house apartment was very nice. Balconies on both sides of a house were small but offered a beautiful view. Certainly we will be back again next time we arrive in Nice."

"We spent a week in Nice with two teenagers in February. The apartment felt like home, it was warm and beautiful. The food store was close and it was easy to walk everywhere. We received the keys and enough information soon after the reservation. It was easy to find the apartment. The owner answered to our emails quickly. We have already recommended the apartment to our friends. Nice is definitely worth visiting. "

"The apartment is in a very good location, convenient to train station, trams, shops, cafes, movie theatres. The apartment is well maintained and met our expectations. It has a wonderful full kitchen, 3 balconies and a spa bathtub. The soundproof windows keeps the street noise below including 2 am garbage trucks pick-ups to a minimum. The only drawback during our stay was the noisy neighbors who got into yelling matches at 2 am or so a couple of the nights we were there. Otherwise a thoroughly enjoyable vacation was greatly enchanced even more by our staying at the apartment."

"This property was exceptionally well situated, being only a short walk from both the station and the main shopping street, whilst also having easy access to the nearest tram stop. The apartment itself was very spacious and also well equipped - the three balconies were a useful feature. Whilst the building of which the apartment was part had lots of character and charm. I would use this property again, if I returned to Nice."

"We could not fault this apartment, it was in the perfect location, and exquisitely french in everyway, exactly the kind of apartment you should stay in, very spacious and bright, both bedrooms beautiful in everyway, having balconys from each room was a real treat and we sat at night by the balcony with a glass of wine, we are all over 70 and had no issues with noise at night or any other complaints. I would recommend this apartment to people of all ages and families, we will definetly return and my daughter is planning to book it for next year. And the top it all off I thought it was excellent value for money in Nice."

"A beautiful apartment, very well located. Good amenities and obliging concierge. Would highly recommend this apartment. Just beware noisy floorboards late at night!"

"The apartment was simply perfect for our requirements. Located in close proximity to everything. Easy to locate. I think that if you want to experience more of the french life as opposed to just a hotel room in the main tourist quarters then this apt is for you. Catch the direct 99 bus from the airport to the Gare de Nice and a short 6 min walk you are there. Couldnt be simpler. Buy a carte de 7 jours & day travel pass) at the office for 15 euros just outside the airport arrival doors at the bus station and it allows you unlimited travel on the bus and tram network. Thanks to this we saw an awful lot of Nice and surrounding areas very easily. The Monoprix supermarket is well stocked and convenient - just head left outside the apt building to the juncition with Ave Jean Medecin and there it is in front of you! It was a truly relaxing and enjoyable stay and the apartment was just the icing on the cake. Only thing lacking in the apartment was a cafertière but then who can beat sipping coffee or an afternoon rosé in wonderful sunshine at a street café whilst watching the world go by! I am glad we discovered you. We shall definitely be booking again in the future."

"For those travelling by train, the central location of the apartment is excellent. The flat is situated in the 4th floor in a lovely typical french building. A supermarket and the post office is near by the house. The flat has 3 large rooms and a modern bath and kitchen. We very much enjoyed our stay (2 adults and 12year old daughter). Staying in the apartment in summer we sometimes missed an air condition at night."

Review submitted by Fabio from Italy (Submitted: 31/03/2008)
"The flat was centrally located and was walking distance to all the shops, restauant, tram and the train station. It was discretly furnished with a cheerful atmosphere. The only discomfort was the shower in the bathroom and the shower curtain. There was a flood after each shower. If you raise the shower and install a plexiglass shower door the apartment would be perfect. Overall, the weather was good but windy. I left the apartment spotless. I hope you were satisfied with the way we left it. Do you have a flat in Paris for the monthe of June?"
