Review submitted by SUE from ST ALBANS (Submitted: 26/08/2009)
"Arrived at apartment about 4pm only to find there was a problem with the key, after about 30 mins, we got in. Not wanting to have this problem every time we used the door, we rang Sally(our contact for our stay) and she came out and gave us her spare key. (glad we didnt have a night flight). If you are staying in this apartment, take bath towels with you, as there were only 2 small and two hand towels provided for the 10 nights. Also the apartment was not cleaned, or bed linen changed during our stay. There is not a lot of shade around the pool area, and only 4 static shades, there is a shade and base on the balcony, but the base is too heavy to carry up and down the stairs. Having said that, the pool area and gardens are lovely. After a couple of days, we found a shortcut down to the main strip, to the restaurants and bars, only 10 mins."

Owner reply: :
It is possible that the lock has recently been damaged so we are having it inspected and repaired.

Extra towels can always be provided by calling our agent Sally on the complimentary mobile phone.

We do state in our information pack that mid stay cleaning and laundry is available through our agent at a cost but this is not a service we, or any other owner, normally provide.

The design of the communal pool is deliberately without shade so wherever you are around the pool you can get the sun all day long. We do provide a parasol for this reason. We do have problems with other guests borrowing the parasol base so we either encourage our guests to chain it up by the pool or take it to our balcony.

"lovely clean apartment in a nice complex not far from town & harbour. Owners helpful. Had a good holiday with no real problems. Cyprus is nice but getting a bit expensive now."

"The holiday was brilliant, where the appartment was situated made it easy to get to all the shops and resturants which were lovely. The appartment had everything you could wish for. I would use this again should I decide to return to Cyprus."

"Property was well presented and clean.Everything we needed was supplied and surprisingly even a mobile phone! The balcony had sunlight throughout the day and overlooked an impressive pool.Highly recomended. The airconditioning in the twin bedroom remained on a high heat,so couldnt be used.We also found the shower very difficult to control, not much cold water coming through. Having said this we were given contact names in case a problem arose but didnt feel the need to bother them. Its between 15-20min walk to the town, plenty of taxis with a minimum charge of 8euros."

"Weve just returned from 2 weeks at this apartment and we didnt want to come home, it was absolutely fantastic! We took a 2yr old with us and we didnt hire a car. We used the local buses and they were air conditioned. Everything was close at hand, from the restaurants, supermarkets and a local taxi company. We needed that to take me to the hospital for the mozzy bites that I got, it was that hot. But can I just say this, if you use the barbie please clean it when youve finished with it and the same goes for the cool box. The owners have been thoughtful enough to provide these facilities for holidaymakers to use, please remember theres somebody coming to stay after you."

"We have just spent 2 weeks at the apartment. The location of the apartment is good as it is within easy walking distance of the town and the harbour where they are plenty of restaurants and bars. The apartment was spacious and clean and very well equipped. The weather was extermely hot so the air conditioning was a god send."

"Paradise Gardens 3 was excellent. The swimming pool was beutiful and never really got packed. There are plenty of sunbeds and areas of shade for those really hot days. The apartment was extremely clean and had everything you could need. It is located close enough to town to be able to walk in and far enough out so that it was blissfully quiet and peaceful. We had been warned that there were alot of cats locally but we really didnt find them a problem. They were all to busy lazing in the sun!! Overall we had a fantastic time and would love to go back soon. (Tomorrow if possible!!) No hesitation in recommending this apartment for a super family holiday."

"The apartment and surrounding facilities were exactely as we imagined them to be from the description on the website. We found the apartment to be very clean, and spacious and very well furnished with every home from home facility available. The pool was really nice and relaxed and was perfect for our family to relax and take it easy. We found a great short cut into town from the apartments which was invaluable in saving fares for taxis. Overall we had a really fabulous time and felt very pampered and looked after. Many thanks."

"Would have given the property an overall rating of Excellent, apart from 1 issue. I found the bed uncomfortable however, everyone has different needs. Apart from that, the apartment was very comfortable, clean, well stocked, well equipped and nice large balcony. 15 mins walk to the centre of town if you do not have a hire car, but if you do, there is plenty of parking in town. "

"This apartment was exactly as described on the website, in excellent condition & with many additional home comforts. The position within the complex could not be bettered, the covered balcony faces the pool & catches the sun for much of the day. Paradise Gardens 111 is very well maintained - both gardens & swimming pool. During our stay we had no problems with noise, either day or night. We would highly recommend this apartment & hope to return again ourselves next year. "

Review submitted by Vinny & Jane from Mnachester (Submitted: 27/08/2007)
"We have 4 children, 16,15,12 and 9 and the accomodation was excellent for all 6 of us. All the basic necessities had been taken care of and we were very pleased with the standard of fittings and fixtures in the apartnment. The location is ideal, and only 10 minutes easy walk (really) to the shops and many bars and restaurants. John and Carol had even provided snorkelling gear, and other beach and pool toys etc which was a very nice touch. The apartmant overlooked the pool, which was large and there is a seperated toddlers pool next to it. Sunbeds were reasonably easy to secure, but even if you dont manage to get one early enough, there are two fold up sunbeds provided for you, along with a parasol to take to the pool! Everyone we met were extremely friendly and helpful. The air con is a godsend and all rooms have ceiling fans also. The complex is visited regularly by cats, who are scavenging for food in the large bins outside. To be honest they were'nt a problem other than the occasional fights at night when you could hear them screeching. There are signs advising people not to feed them (good advice) but inevitably some people do, and this only encourages them more. Dont let the cats put you off because they are really not a problem. We had a great time at Paradise Gardens 3, and most importantly the kids loved it. Pahos has lots to offer both day and night. The food and drink in the bars and restaurants is very reasonably priced and the local supermarket, opposite Debenhams is really cheap for your provisions. The local kiosk is literally 2 minutes walk away, and has most of the basics, but is a bit pricier. They have the latest DVDs in english (greek subtitles) for £3 !! They are copies but the quality is OK. It would be better to take your own so you dont get any nasty surprises! Highly recommended .... book it now!!! "

Review submitted by Louis from West Wales (Submitted: 14/08/2007)
"The air conditioning was a life saver and the pool was excellent. The information provided by the owners was very detailed and informative and enabled us to use all the electronic equipment in the apartment. The location was good as it was just far enough away from the town centre as to be quiet and relaxing. Shops were very good with competitive pricing. Eating out having salads and fresh fish dishes were very good. The ice cream van "Mr Rambo" comes around at 5pm every day which was nice. The only drawback which was not the owners fault, was the rush by some people to put towels on sunbeds by the pool at daybreak and then go in for breakfast and return several hours later, meaning sunbeds were scarce. Would recommend."

Review submitted by Sharon from Bicester (Submitted: 23/07/2007)
"Everything promised in the description was provided - the welcome pack was gratefully received after hours of travelling and finding the supermarket was 15mins walk away! We found it too hot in July to do anything but sit and read but at least it made us have a rest! Would consider this property again for a future visit. "

"This property proved excellent value for money and is well equipped with pretty much everything you could need for a self catering holiday. With the excellent Pambis Diner just up the road, you don't have to venture too far for a very reasonably priced lunch or evening meal. The apartment is well shaded from the worst excesses of the sun should you want to avoid it!, The pool and surrounding area were clean and the pleasant gardens well tended."

Review submitted by Chris from Derby (Submitted: 26/06/2007)
"The apartment was excellent, spacious and fully equipped, Carol and John had thought of everything to make it a real home from home. The pool was fantastic , never crowded and always sun beds available no matter what time of the day. Would not hesitate to recommend this apartment."

Review submitted by Claire from Stockport (Submitted: 13/06/2007)
"The property itself and the surrounding pool area was pristine. The apartment had everything and more you would require for a comofortable stay. A taxi was waiting for us when we got off the plane which was a godsend after I had worried about the transfer with having young children. We were lucky enough to meet Sheryl and John whilst in Paphos who are very friendly and helpful, they answered any questions we had. The welcome pack was more than sufficient and well appreciated when arriving at 11.15pm. The only negative point was the 10 minute walk to the main street in Paphos which is a long walk for young children. I will recommend the apartment in the future and we will return to John and Carols property."

"We've just returned from a great break. Lovely apartment just as described and seen on website. However, the little extras that you don't always get i.e. soap, tissues, play equipment etc made it all the better. The complimentary 'welcome pack' was very welcome, especially when arriving in the middle of the night as we did. Pool area really pretty and not very busy at this time of year so no fighting for sunbeds. Town and harbour are close enough for an evening stroll but far enough away not too keep you awake. I see previous reviewer mentioned cats and dogs. We didn't have a problem with cats and although you could hear the dogs (apparantly there are kennels not far away) it was only if you were sat on the balcony. Down by the pool you couldn't hear them. The agents Cheryl and Brian were very obliging when we managed to lock ourselves out of the apartment. All in all an enjoyable stay. Will go again, but next time we'd hire a car."

Review submitted by Peter from Chepstow (Submitted: 19/05/2007)
"Overall the property was fine. It was clean, very well equiped and comfortable. The gardens and pool area were nicely laid out and well maintained. The location being just a short walk to town and restaurants was also fine. On the down side. Dogs and cats. Constant barking for prolonged periods from what sounded like a large pack of of dogs nearby was a pain. Stray cats everywhere. Even on the balcony in the morning when we opened the curtains. Something needs to be done to encourage them to move on. "

Review submitted by Ged from Lancashire UK (Submitted: 19/02/2007)
"The property was just as described in the Villa Renters profile - it was modern and clean and a prior arrangement for a welcome pack to be made available was fully satisfied. Due to the time of year that we made our trip and the local climate it was not possible to use the pool as it had not recovered to a comfortable temperature for swimming. However it was possible to make use of the sunbathing facilities around the pool and we will certainly consider returning to the property in the summer months and take advantage of all extra "comforts" that the owner has gone to the trouble of making avaialble for use by renters of this appartment."

"Best descision I have ever made regarding holidays and booking a property! John and Carol have thought of everything and the apartment was spotlessly clean and in an excellent location, other residents are very friendly and the pool and gardens superb, most days we had the pool to ourselves, 4 personal loungers and umbrella, in oct they wernt needed, I highly recommend this property, welcome pack was exceptional, thankyou both ever so much!"

"Beautiful apartment, clean, well maintained, excellent standard of furnishings. The welcome pack was very much appreciated. Having sunbeds and an umbrella was very useful, otherwise you had to be up before seven o'clock to establish a position!! The swimming pool was very clean and the adjoining showers aand toliets were useful. Very easy, quick walk to plenty of bars and restaurants or sunbeds by the beach if you prefer that to the pool.Would recommend highly."

"The property was well maintained. The home from home touches made the holiday. On arrival there was a welcome pack which included tea and milk and when you have been travelling for a few hours is well recieved. Mr and Mrs Foreman have put a lot of thought into what things you may need on your holiday and have included them in the property. We got lost trying to find the property when we got there but we rang the couple they have looking after their apartment in Cyprus and they came and found us and took us to the property without any hesitation. I would definitely recommend this apartment to my friends."

"everything needed for a good holiday. beds comfortable and spacious, nice and clean with a great balcony overlooking the pool.the best was the air conditioning in each room (free of charge if not abused) which is essential.what we also liked was being provided with the use of pool items ( inflatables ,bats and balls etc) and one of the only umbrellas on the complex. great base for a holiday.will definately return. thanks."

"I hope to be coming back to Paphos many times in the future and am therefore keeping this property's details safely in my Cyprus file. The location could not have been better - suitable for all age groups as it was just a short walk from the centre for nightlife and evening strolls. On the other hand, it was easily accessible from the airport and for getting out and about for touring in the car. Lovely pool and surroundings. The apartment itself had everything that we required. Thank you"

"A happy return to Paphos. Weather perfect in mid May, pool was warm enough, indeed you needed to cool down in it. Appartment was very well equiped and spotless. Complex was quiet and peaceful, but limited number of shades and loungers may make it difficult during school holidays. Our second visit to Paradise Gardens, will definetely return again."

"An amazing apartment - ideal location and very well equipped. I will definately return there again. My only comments would be that the beach towels provided are basic so I would recommend taking your own, and the apartment could do with a few extra pillows for those of us who want more than one!!!! Other than that, I was very impressed."

"I booked this apartment so that my mum, sister and her boyfriend could join us for our wedding celebrations in Paphos. I made a couple of visits and was very impressed and wished I'd booked it for ourselves. It was modern and clean, and the decor made it feel like you were at home in Cyprus. All equipment was provided and the kitchen was even graced with a few items so they didn't have to go out to the supermarket the moment they arrived. The balcony looked over the lovely pool in a very quiet and peaceful setting. I would definitely recommend this apartment to anyone and will probably try and book it for ourselves next year."

"Fantastic apartment, everything was first class, quiet location, very roomy apartment, all mod cons, everything catered for, even a welcome pack in the fridge. Pool clean and warm, maybe lacking in the number of sun beds at peak times. New road now complete at front of apartments, so easy access. 10 minute walk to shops, bars etc. Balcony nice and shaded, very handy as temperature was 30 + all week. 15 minute taxi transfer at cost of around £17.00, nice and easy transfer."

"An excellent apartment which totally exceeded our expectations. Modern, light and well appointed, it contained everything you could hope for while on holiday. Particularly well planned and immaculate in every respect. Bedrooms were seperated by a bathroom and there was a further closed door to the living area which added to the privacy which I felt was important not only to the children but to ourselves. Communal pool area excellent."

"In hindsight, after seeing my review on the website, I would like to substitute my wordy negative comment for a more concise one below, in order to give a more balanced perspective. After all, we were basically pleased with the apartment and enjoyed our time there. My comment was to encourage the owner to make improvements, not to (unfairly) discourage potential customers from visiting a good apartment. Please also amend rating to 3 1/2 stars. Thanks. Please revise as below... 'Our only disappointment was that the quality of the beds and linen provided was not up to the standard of the rest of the apartment'."

"This apartment is very good value for money, very clean and well maintained, it had all we required for our stay. When the new road is finished getting into town will be made much easier if you do not wish to use a car. We enjoyed our stay and would be happy to book it again if we holiday in that area"

Review submitted by Ian Michael from Paradise Gardens III (Submitted: 24/04/2005)
"We were generally very pleased with the apartment which had good, clean, spacious, well equipped facilities as described with attractive pool area and gardens. Paphos has an attractive harbour and some wonderful archeological sites which compensate for fact that a lot of the town is under construction with the new main road and developing sprawl of apartment/villa urbanisation. Our only complaint about our apartment (3D101) was that the bed mattreses were thin and lumpy and that the sheets were worn and sweaty. When I complained to the caretaker - I changed my sheet for a slighty fresher one - he moaned about the quick change over time, as if to imply that the sheets hadn't been washed or changed, and advised me to use the washing machine. This really isn't good enough. It is a false economy to scrimp on such things. If the beds and sheets had been to the standard that I have at home - and probably the owner has at his home - I would have had no doubts about recommending or returning to this apartment."

Review submitted by Richard from Cumbria (Submitted: 16/03/2005)
"The apartment met with our expectations from the description. The weather was not brilliant and as a result we found the rooms quite cold, and had to use the heating quite a lot. The apartment was extremely well equipped except for an adequate amount of linen, there being no change of towels or bedding necessitating washing and drying these over the course of a short period of time. WE found the walk to the tourist area where all the facilities were, rather hazardous expecially in the dark, because of all the roadworks. This will obviously improve when the new road is completed."

We had everthing we needed, lots of clean linen and even our beach towels were provided. The kitchen was well equiped with all mod con's needed if you wanted to cater for yourself. The surrounding area was very peaceful and with the balcony overlooking the pool it was perfect to sit on at night with a glass of wine. The apartment is also within easy walking distance of all restraunts, shops, bars and the port of Paphos.I can honestly say after holidaying in Cyprus for the last 12 years this is one of the best properties i have stayed in."

"The property and the surrounding facilities were excellent. From the moment we were picked up at the airport this was the most memorable of holidays. I travelled with my family including a 10 year old and 3 year old and both were accommodated fantastically. The 10 minute walk to the town was easy even for the youngest child. I would highly recommend this property to anybody."
