| "This is a good, safe location with a nice view. A few simple amenity changes would make it excellent. Matthew takes good care of you. Make sure he gives you the correct office address. The location had changed and it took 2 days to find the correct one."

"The price was good, and we got what we paid for. Our adult daughter had her own bedroom and bathroom, and we had an extra room to put our luggage. It was nice to have the kitchen, although a light in there would have been nice. There was a T.V in the master bedroom, but no cable. We made sure to be in early each night, so some English language stations would have been nice. We were give a map of the area and some suggestions for restaurants which was helpful. We were left a cell phone to use. The problem was it didnt have any minutes on it. The other thing that we would have liked is for the owner to go through the apartment with us before he left that first day. We found a few things that were in disrepair after he left. There was also some breakage we discovered on arrival, and we were concerned he would think we did it.
We had a great view of the Baslica from our balcony out back. We were in walking distance of lots of attractions. The one big drawback to this place is the noise. It is a fairly large apartment complex where locals live. One Friday night the people below us decided to have a party. It started at 7 P.M. and ended at 3 A.M. They cranked the music up and it echoed through the whole complex. That is the main reason we cant recommend this place to people our age. Younger folks may not mind the noise."

Interesting in that all of the previous comments on this apartment have been four stars or higher including the one immediately following these guests. Consequently, a reply to these people is in order. We will address each point they made.
1) There is a light in the kitchen....it is over the counter. I suppose we should have shown these people where every light switch is located but assumed that most people could locate them. 2) There is no cable TV and that is stated on the website and was known before arrival. But...why somone would want to watch TV in a country where there is so much to do is beyond us. They had internet so English speaking international news breaking information was available. 3) We usually supply a calling card with the phone and if that was not the case...we apologize. Nonetheless, if they would have contacted us using a public phone booth which is downstairs in the building, sent an email or came by our office...we would have taken care of it 4) I personally spent about 30 mintues with this customer upon thier arrival showing them the apartment. We also made sure the internet was working for them. Normally with serious customers, if there is something wrong with the apartment they contact us and we handle it promptly 5) Disrepair??? Again....normally people contact us if there is something that is not suitable. We never heard from these people 6) Noise....welcome to Ecuador! This type of festive behavior can happen anywhere especially in an apartment. We get complaints from customers that stay in five star hotels. Not to mention....these customers were in Ecuador the week before Carnival! I do not know the ages of these customers but they look about the same age as most of our customers. No one has complained about noise before.
Finnally, if this apartment deserves a low rating...then we are sure they would have contacted us when they were here. Things must not have been that bad as they preffered to send a unfair email after they left. Interesing, the only time we heard from them was when they cancelled a trip we had planned for them. That was typical!

| "We loved this apartment. Very spacious, fantastic view of Old Town, perfect location and very secure. Theres a balcony with view of the old basilica, its extremely beautiful to sit out there in the morning and eat breakfast/drink coffee. The manager was very helpful and in contact with us throughout our visit as far as providing advice on things to see and do. Thanks again for a wonderful experience, we would definitely do it again!"

| "This apartment is very good value for travellers wanting to explore Quito independently. There was ample room for our family of four, and conveniences including Internet, washing machine, and garage. There is a large, plant-filled terrace with a view of the mountains and the Basilica del Voto. The sights of Colonial Quito are all within walking distance, and there are stores and restaurants nearby. Staff were friendly and helpful. Travellers who have mobility difficulties should note that this apartment is a 4th storey walkup."

| "The apartment was great! Having the patio and being able to be outside was an excellent benefit.
The management was very responsive when I had any questions, and took the time during off hours to meet with the and walk me through the property when I checked in.
Regarding the location, being in Old Town is often times a better experience than being in The Mariscal due to the World Heritage status of the area. Plus, when I wanted to go to The Mariscal is was extremely easy whether I wanted to walk, take a taxi, or a bus.
I plan on using ColonialEcuador on my future visits to Quito."
