| "What a lovely week we had at the Villa Ricardo.
It was just as described on the website. Betty was there to meet us and give us a guided tour of the house and surrounds and answer our many questions. The house was very comfortable and very clean, and in a great location.
Ricardo was a great host, and invited us to help make wine under the house, which was a once in a lifetime experience and so much fun. We hope that all that hard stomping we did helped produce a great vintage!!
Also we were lucky enough to be there over the annual wine festival held in the village over 2 days. What an amazing party and celebration.
We were thrilled to have had such a lovely holiday at this great villa."

| "The whole experience, from choosing the villa booking on-line, to all of the administrative communications and finally arriving at our destination was outstanding. A delightful welcome from the owners was very well received their warm and friendly personalities made us feel at home immediately. The villa is perched beautifully providing an outstanding view of both the village, the sea and the picturesque mountainous terain. A short walk into the village below provides a highly attractive bimble into the heart of a traditional community. The private pool provides a fabulous area to commune, where the views and scenes continue to capture the essence of the island. We are most thankful for such an enjoyable experience."

| "Iam very happy to recommend staying at Villa Ricardo,our 2 weeks there were very enjoyable.
The housekeeper Mrs Betty is dedicated to her work and makes you feel very welcome as well as ensuring that the Villa is kept extremely clean.
The pool is wonderful and is probably the main reason that we didnt get to see as much of the island as we would have liked.!
The location of the villa is also extremely pleasing with a lovely view over the village of Porto da Cruz and onto the sea and even though the villa is situated on the road into Porto da Cruz,noise is never an issue.
When we return to Madeira again we shall be looking to stay at Villa Ricardo.

| "As a small group of 20-something friends, we very much enjoyed our stay at Villa Ricardo. It is everything as described (in detail) on the website and more. On arriving, we were met by Betty and Mr Ramos and shown around the villa, offered a tasting of the in-house Madeira wine and told to eat as many bananas as we liked supplied from the banana trees in the grounds of the villa!
The villa and pool facilities were excellent and well maintained, and the villa was thoroughly cleaned twice during the week. One possible improvement would be to have some ceiling fans or portable air conditioning units in the bedrooms as they do get a bit warm at night, but otherwise 10/10."

| "The villa suited our needs perfectly. Being a family with grown up children scattered around the UK, it provided a perfect place to enjoy each others company in a delightful setting and very comfortable villa.
Mrs Betty was extremely welcoming and as well as showing us around, showed us to a restaurant where we could still eat at 10pm. Everything was well thought out. There is only a very small oven and a two ring hob but we were able to be creative in our cooking!
The use of the internet was invaluable, if a little expensive. The extra charge for 4th, 5th and 6th persons did mean that this was not a particularly cheap option but having said that, it proved to be a wonderful holiday and we would have no hesitation in returning to this property or recommending it to others. The owner, Ricardo, met us before we left and invited us to sample his home made wine in the impressive winery under the villa, giving us a lovely send off."

| "We had a brilliant stay in this beautiful house. Particular plus points were: views of the enormous surf from most of the windows of the house and the real wood fire. Mrs Betty looks after the cleanliness and is very helpful with recommendations - she even took us to the centre of town when we arrived at lunchtime to show us around. Each of the three bedrooms has an en-suite bathroom (showers/no baths). The garden is a real treat as well - bananas and mangoes, and it backs onto a vineyard.

| "couldnt ask for anything more.Mrs Betty was helpful and pleasent.The villa was massive and clean in a good location.Not far from airpot or funchal (reconmend you go).Overall the best place ive stayed and the island is wonderfull!"

| "Very friendly reception by Mr Ramos and family.
We were supplied with grapes, grape juice and some local specialities.
The villa was in excellent condition and well cleaned twice a week with a change of linen.
The lady doing this service was very friendly and extremely helpful. A real treasure!!
We were disappointed that the internet was not up and running. However to be fair, at the time we booked there was no mention of an internet connection this appeared on the website at a later date.
One of the best villa holidays we have had.
We hope to return."

| "Excellent accomodation. Very well kept, and clean, with all necessary amenities in place. Beautiful viwes on the ocean and the mountains from the house. Very comfortable and a pleasant stay. Special thanks to the owner of the villa Mr. Ricardo and the houskeeper Betty who was extremely friendly and helpful in everything. Beautiful surroundings, easy access to the ocean and the beach. Overall imperession is extremely good. Villa Ricardo made our holidays in Madeira unforgettable!"

| "The reception we received on our arrival was exceptional, and the holiday only improved day by day. The villa is in a fantastic location with uninterupted veiws over the village of Porta de Cruz and the Atlantic. The villa is very well equipped, and the house keeper very helpful, and cleans the villa twice a week with clean towels and linen each time. The people of Madeira are very friendly and the island truely is a paradise, we would recommend the villa and the island to all our friends. The village is a short walk and the restaurants are excellent and welcoming, I can only say try them all. We will certainly be using the villa again,"

| "The villa was even better than expected, being very well equiped and in a fantastic position overlooking the scenic village of Porto da Cruz. Unfortunately we did not meet the owner, but found the owners representative extremely friendly, helpful and courteous as was the general attitude of the islands population we met. We would have no hesitation in recommending this property to others."

| "I already was hosted in this house with some friends last summer, and I can assure you that was the best vacation of my life. The island is beautiful! The house is fabulous! The Village is cozy! A Vila do Porto da Cruz é muito acolhedora, e tem tudo o que nós necessitamos, nomeadamente restaurantes, farmácia, centro de saúde, mini-mercados... Aconselho vivamente. | "We have hired many properties abroad and are not that easily satisfied but I can find nothing but praise for our Madeira holiday. The villa was of very high standard for the price charged and the care and help we received was first class. The property was clean and well equipped and any minor problems we had were speedily and effectively dealt with.
We are likely to return to Madeira in 3/4 years and will use your services again without hesitation."
