| "The cottage was immaculately clean and we felt very safe there. The care-takers were extremely kind and generous and made us feel at home. Dickensen Bay is only a 1-1/2 mile walk, and grocery stores are also close-by.
The wireless Internet service was great, but be sure to bring an international phone as the cottage did not have one."

| "My high school classmate and I rented the bungalow for 10 days in late July when we returned home for our High School reunio n. We loved the accommodations, it was just what we wanted..simple island comfort. My favorite place was the veranda at night, the breeze is excellent. The only drawback to the property was the gated entry. The owners parents have an adjacent house within the same grounds and there is a padlock maintained on the entrance gate. On arrival we were given 1 key, so unless we both had the same outing plans it became a nuisance to have to coordinate meeting somewhere or scheduling arriving back at the property at the same time to get access. A larger television and a mirror in the 2nd guestroom would also be some recommended upgrades. Overall it is still an excellent choice as it provides all the amenities and is well worth the price."

| "You need a car to be in this house. It is really well placed to visit St John and various beaches.
The house is very clean and tidy and equipped to self cater or go out."

| "The house is the best value on the island. This was my 2nd time staying there in 2 months. I have recommended it to several medical students for their parents book when they are visiting. The couple next door seem like family now!"

| "We spent two weeks in Antigua and would definitely recommend Friars Hill Cottage. It was outstanding value for money - clean, tastefully furnished and well equipped. We hired a car for the duration of the holiday which allowed us to see a lot of the island. We ate at a number of quality hotels but I wouldnt swap our chosen accommodation for anything we saw! My only request would be more mirrors - theres only one small one in the bathroom. As two girls, wed definitely have made use of a full length mirror! An additional key for the automatic gates would also have been helpful (especially when returning late at night) and would have allowed us to park on the drive. These are merely suggestions and the lack of either didnt detract from an excellent holiday. Clovis and Dave were very welcoming and helpful, as were everyone we came across during the holiday. Id definitely visit Antigua again and I wouldnt stay anywhere else. First rate accommodation!"

| "The house is about 15 to 20 minutes from the airport and a 30 to 45 minute walk from 2 beaches. There is shopping strip mall and large grocery store within walking distance and a local bus stop around the corner. It is a 10 minute ride to the capital, St. Johns. There is also a smaller grocery store just around the corner as well.
If you are not used to walking, you may want to rent a car. We enjoyed walking and riding the bus.
The landlords who live nextdoor were fabulous. We relied on them for directions and suggestions on where to go. They are a tremendous asset!!!
I am already planning another trip less than 2 months. The Friar's Hill house is the best value on the island."

| "This property is one of the cheapest available on the island and is excellent value for money. It is in excellent condition, being recently built, and is nicely finished off internally. The outside is more attractive than current photos show as a variety of plants have now been put in and will enhance the property as they mature. Everything was very clean. The verandah is spacious and there is a drying area out the back. The couple who live next door are, as others have said, welcoming and friendly. The villa is well situated for a number of beaches, bars and restaurants, St. John's, a coffee shop (at Jasmine Court) and supermarkets. We hired a car, which made trips to the other side of the island easily manageable. We did not see a music system. If that is important to you you would need to ask about it. Also, although there are plenty of saucepans for the burners there are no dishes for use in the oven. The area is a pleasant residential area; the old oil storage tanks (or whatever they are) that can be seen on google earth, although close, are largely hidden by trees."

"CLEGG
Caribbean sun and smiles! We stayed here for 2 weeks and wished we could have stayed longer. Very clean, well put together, comfortable house. Lovely family next door to help out with anything you need. Car a must if you don't want to walk long distances but only a short drive to everything you need - supermarkets, stunning beaches and nightlife. Wireless internet access, cable tv and a bbq if you want to relax in on the porch. Great restaurants and bars nearby if you don't. We highly recommend this property and would go back in a second."

"ben in nyc new york city, usa. Review Submitted: January 09, 2008 Date of Stay: December 2007
My father, brother and myself stayed at this little home in antigua over the recent holidays. The house was just built and next to it is another small home where the owners live, a wonderful antiguan couple. Being a new house there were a couple loose ends to sort out (a leaky faucet and such) and the two owners immediately had the contractor and plumber come to replace the faucet. The house is a five minute drive to the beach, five minute drive to town and a five minute drive to a large supermarket. There is also a smaller supermarket a five minute walk away. The shower had excellent water pressure hot water and the kitchen is nice and full of pots and pans, plate and bowls. The television has heaps of channels. This home also has a great porch for sitting in the morning, the internet is wireless and you can get it from the porch although a wi-fi extender will be installed soon and should allow you access from inside the house in the near future. This is a great home for a small family, or two couples. There is two queen size beds in two rooms, a small living room with couch and an open kitchen in the living room. There is a table on the porch with four chairs., great for dinner outside, the porch is covered so if it rains all is cool. Restaurants are a short drive away in all directions, but we did heaps of cooking. We didn't have a car and walked all over the place! This is one of the best deals on the island!
