| "Lovely property with bags of character, the owner was really nice and very helpful sorting out transfers etc.
The only negatives are the metal yard next door starts work early and is quite noisy so no lie ins! The beds are not very comfortable and the sheets on the double were not large enough so always came off in the night and you end up lying on the bare mattress which is not very nice. That being said we had a great time, the sun terrace got sun all day and it was easy to get around the island and see all the sights, the kitchen was well equiped and the BBQ is a lovely touch and got plenty of use. Reno made sure we had the basics in for when we arrived which is a really nice touch."

| "We had a wonderful time staying at Ta Zaren. My husband and I and our four children all enjoyed a relaxing and fun time. The villa is very spacious and peaceful. The pool is lovely, a good size and not overlooked at all. It was nice to have a big dining table which we could all sit around together (previously in other rental properties we have stayed in this has been an issue!) The villa is in a quiet area a short drive from most things. The sun terrace was really lovely, especially in the evenings with a glass of wine. The tea/coffee/food package on arrival was particularly welcomed as we arrived late in the evening. Thank you Reno for your hospitality, we all had a great time."

| "The property has great character and charm and the owner, Reno, was very helpful but there are a couple of points which should be noted. One is that there is a depot next door which does operate 6 days a week and can be somewhat noisy from time to time. Further, I would describe this property as more of a village house as it is in a built up area rather than a rural area. The only improvement I would suggest is a dishwasher, particularly given the house can sleep up to 8. Otherwise, a lovely place to stay."

| "We have stayed at Ta' Zaren Farmhouse in Gozo and returned home yesterday after a very enjoyable stay.
We were two families of 4 each but there was plenty of space to fit all of us.The location of the villa is just outside Victoria and in a very quiet area. The yard next door to the villa is no bother at all. In fact it is even better as this way the house is detached from one side and so has a lot of privacy.
The owner, Reno, is an example of perfect service. On arrival at the airport, we realised that one of our luggage was missing. We were worried because it contained special food for our young daughter. Reno, chased the airport authorities and insisted that our luggage was returned to us next day. He even showed up with the luggage himself next day and would only accept a cup of coffee in compensation from us!
I will always remember our holiday in Gozo as a dream come true and would not hesitate to recommend this villa to all my friends.
Thank you Reno and you will surely see us again in future. Jerome, Cybille & kids."

| "The farmhouse is full of character with a lot of original features. The property is designed for keeping cool in hot weather so early spring can be a little chilly in the evening - although there are some portable heaters provided. The owner Reno was very helpful and welcoming and was responsive to any problems/questions etc. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it as a lovely place to stay."

| "A fantastic island and a fantastic place to stay. An easy walk into the islands capital.
Reno and his wife have made Ta Zaren a perfect place to relax.
The pool is lovely and the cottage is well equipped.
It's layout would lend itsself well to 2 families sharing.
Reno met us at the port so finding the villa was easy.
A real gem and we'd like to come back soon"

| "This house is outstanding, likewise the service from the owner. Communication was excellent right from the time of booking. The extremely helpful owners clearly aim to please and all taxi transfers and car hire arrangments were dealt with upon request. Upon arival it was clear the picures do not show just how big the house is and it was in emacualte clean condition. The facilities were excellent, the washing machine extremely useful and even pool toys were provided for enjoyment. They really have thought of everything. The access to the sun terrace and master bedroom via the internal spiral staircase I agree was difficult but the outside staircase provided an alternative access point. The pool was cleaned three times during our stay and was a lovely place to spend time, although the position of the house means the sun dissapears in late afternoon and for sunbathing you then need to go onto the sun terrace. It was extremely windy during our stay and the roof terrace at times proved too windy. The builders yard next door did not prove to be a problem and I would not let it put you off staying, although you do need to check whose around before you go up the stairs topless!! I only heard a truck at 5 am on one occassion. This farnhouse is truly value for money I was so pleased to have chosen my holiday in it. The owners phoned during our stay to check all was well and were available if we wanted for anything."

| "The farmhouse far exceeded our expectations in terms of quality and size, the rooms are very large and keep cool on hot days.
The bedrooms are all well appointed with ensuite shower (3) / bath (1), there is one double room at the top of the spiral staircase, overlooking the sun terrace, the rest are twin bedded rooms.
The sun terrace has sun all day, has wonderful views of the Citadel in Victoria and beautiful sunsets.
The kitchen and living area are also well appointed with all the basics to enable self catering. A good value supermarket is 5-10 minutes walk away. If you want to eat outside there is patio furniture both by the poolside and up on the sun terrace.
The Pool is a good size with a shallow end and good steps and catches the sun directly in the afternoon.
The owners are very helpful and made contact by e-mail immediately after booking, they can arrange transfers to/from Malta airport and have a hire car waiting at the Farmhouse. We had already made our own hire car arrangements and were met at the harbour on arrival in Gozo."

| "A beautiful farmhouse excellently renovated in a pleasant, private location. The owner Reno looked after us very well and was on hand if there were any problems. A stunning island well worth visiting if you want a relaxed unspoilt holiday away from the more commercial Malta."

| "We all had a fantastic time in the villa. It was incredibly relaxing and everything was perfect. The bedrooms were very comfortable, the kitchen and living room had everything we needed, we spent a lot of time in the swimming pool and using the bbq, and afternoons and evenings up on the terrace.
Really impressed with Gozo as well. Very friendly people and some amazing coastlines and beautifully clear water. Xlendi bay was definitely my favourite as it was great to swim their before having a beer or two and some great food at one of the restaurants."

"Dear guests,
Reference is being made to the recently posted review from one of our guests (Ms Linda Wilbraham).
We have noted the comment about the difficulty to access our sunny terrace from our spiral staircase. In fact we have already taken the necessary action to amend this and are pleased to inform our future guests that we have now installed a separate stairway to the terrace which will facilitate access.
We welcome all constructive reviews from our guests as this will make us strive to improve our services.
We look forward to welcome you to our villa!
Regards
Reno Tanti"

| "We very much enjoyed our stay in Gozo, location of farmhouse was a little disapointing at first glance as it is located next to a builders yard dealing in re-enforcing steel with an abandoned old wagon and several vehicles coming in and out. As the holiday progressed we found that it did not intrude on the property other than early (4am starts occassionaly with a wagon). We had a very mixed age group from 2 years old to 56year old so the tall spiral stair case which gives access to one of the bedrooms we didn't think would be a problem we would just allocate the room accordingly (only thing to remember is that this is the only access to the roof terrace which gets the sun all day and you can't even carry a small tray or suitcase up there).
Reno (owner) was very accommodating and helpful which was fortunate as the weather was cold on arrival, farmhouses on Gozo are built to keep heat out rather than in, so he brought us a calor gas heater for the living area to enable us to sit more comfortably in the evening. We bought 5 hot waterbottles to get warm in bed.
It is a lovely island and the farmhouse is situated in a good sport for walking and close to amenities in Victoria. I'm sure later in the season when it is warmer that the property comes into its own (and Reno can't fix the weather) if you don't mind fairly rustic facilities and want a feel for the 'real' island then this is a good location. Better for older children though because of the access to roof terrace."

| "The pictures on the web site do not do this property justice, it is absolutely fantastic and by far the best accomodation I have ever stayed in. There were 7 of us staying over the Easter period and due to its spacious layout we never felt cramped. The owner Reno could not have been more helpful. He welcomed us in person and spent time making sure that we were familiar with the facilities and surrounding area. He also arranged transfers, vehicle hire and ensured the prompt return of lost luggage by dealing with the airline directly for us. This made sure that we had an enjoyable holiday. I can absolutely recommend this property to family and friends and fully intend returning to the beautiful island of Gozo and Ta' Zaren farmhouse.

"Wow this villa is amazing, and yes the master bed is the biggest I have ever seen also. The beds were so comfy I did not find myself saying, " I cant wait to get back to my own bed",this is what I normally say. Such is the inherent tranquility - from residing in this tranquil area a few minutes away from the beach. Well-positioned to sample Gozo's varied markets and towns, we found Ta’ Zaren Farmhouse provided an ideal base to get into 'island life'. But you can equally stock-up with wares and kick back in this charming haven and let the world go by. Whether lounging around the pool, or feasting to the ubiquitous accompaniment of evening BBQ’s by the pool, there's scope to relax and unwind, in excess.
Great owners who really make you feel at home and always ready to offer the usual Gozitan hospitality.
The only downside to staying at Ta’ Zaren Farmhouse is that you don’t want to leave and go back home !

"Ta' Zaren Farmhouse - Gozo, Malta
Operator and Date: Direct - June 2004
Opinion submitted in Aug 2004 by : Eileen Johnson - London ( 45, 44, 18, 16, 12, 10 )
Resort Rating: Very Good
Accommodation Rating: Excellent
My/Our Holiday Opinion:
This was our first time in Gozo although we have been to Malta for 3 times already. We always stayed in hotels in Malta but decided for a more quite holiday this year and for a converted farmhouse in Gozo. We browsed the internet and got hooked on the website of Ta' Zaren Farmhouse in Victoria Gozo (www gozo com/tazaren)
This very old farmhouse has been recently expertly converted and beautifully styled into a comfortable four bedroom vacation home, preserving all of its original rustic features. It is located on the outskirts of Victoria in a peaceful road close to typical Gozitan countryside. You can get to the nearest beach (Xlendi)in about 5 minutes by car.
The beaches in Gozo are nothing special but we spent a lot of time by the pool in the farmhouse.
The farmhouse itself is something special and all of us (6 in all) had plenty of space as it can take 8 persons. No problem about bathroom privacy as this farmhouse has four batrooms and one spare toilet. It the first time the kids did not fight about who was using the bathroom first as they were spoilt for choice.
It is ideal for people looking for quiet holidays. The owner, Reno, made sure we felt at home as he was always ready to give advise on where to eat, suggested places of interest etc.... The people on the island are mostly very friendly, its just great to stay there. You can easyly make trips to the main island, to see the stone-age-buildings, valetta and all around.
The buses are old, but in good condition. For seeing more of the islands, one should rent a car.
It is ideal for people looking for quiet holidays. Maybe a bit too quiet for the kids, but they still enjoyed the nightlife.
We have decided that this is definetly our holiday for next year and have already confirmed our holiday again this time in May.
All together: a great vacation!!!!

| "My husband and I recently spent 14 glorious days in Gozo. Before our holiday I searched the internet for the perfect place to stay. After seeing many different types of accommodations, I decided on staying a farmhouse. Because we are a large family (7 in all), my husband and I we decided on Ta’ Zaren Farmhouse as it has four bedrooms all with en-suite bathrooms. When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised. The house was beautiful. The pictures on the internet do not do it justice. The large bedrooms were beautiful and the children had plenty of space Downstairs you find the kitchen, living area and the private pool was amazing. Just keep in mind, it is a farmhouse but has the luxuries of a villa. The surrounding area is peaceful and relaxing. The owner, Reno was only too pleased to offer information and advise whenever we needed it on where to go and the local customs. I would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting a romantic getaway in Gozo."
