"I was in this property with friends for one week in July 2009. The property itself is in an ok location and ok condition.
The main problem was the air conditioning system was broken during our visit. We were there in the middle of the hottest summer on records in Spain and without air conditioning for nearly 4 full days. It was far too hot, sleep was impossible and it was very uncomfortable.
We were advised that the owner had stayed in the property the week before we had arrived and said there was no problem with it.
This could not have been as the air conditioning system not only needed re gassing but also needed a whole lot of other work to it as well. The engineer advised that it had been in need of a good service for some time. I think the owner and her side kick Roger, the cockney rebel just didn’t want to pay out for the maintenance.
I dont know if Roger was the owner’s husband, the odd job man, owned this property along with others or what.
He was very sympathetic about the air conditioning at first but rapidly became uninterested as we kept complaining. He tried to fob us off on a number of occasions regarding when he could get an engineer out, which he might not be able to get it fixed before we went home etc etc.
It took for us to take 5 hours out of one day to wait in whilst the engineer fixed the problem. We also had a couple of trips back to the apartment on other days and had the engineers there at least 3 out of 7 days. We were moping water up from the floor that the air con system was leaking out, the water made the door frame come away from the wall and caused the door to swell making it difficult to open and close.
Also the electricity in the building failed a couple of times which knocked off the hot water system along with TV etc. The lift also broke on more than one occasion and the property would be completely unsuitable for anyone with a disability.
Only being there for one week meant nearly the whole time was disrupted by problems with the apartment.
I wouldnt go back to this apartment again. I wouldnt recommend it to anyone and certainly wouldnt give Roger or the owner another penny of my money.
Too many problems, not sorted out quickly enough and owners/point of contact not easy to contact. Don’t stay there choose somewhere else where they may care that you have spent your hard earned cash an actually want to enjoy your holiday not wait in for engineers.

Wayne I am sorry you had so many problems. You stayed the week 19th to 26th July I believe, so I am not sure why it has taken you 12 weeks (3 months) to submit this review with the complaints. Unfortunately, the air conditioning unit went wrong on the Sunday you arrived, as Roger could not call anyone until the Monday he did supply in 3 fans for your use. On Monday, he did manage to find a company who came out and re-gassed the unit in the morning (you would be hard pushed to get anyone in the UK to come quicker than that). Roger stayed with the workmen on this visit. Unfortunately, the unit went wrong again and the company came back again that night to find additional repairs were needed, and this did take some time to fix, and I believe this was the only time that the unit leaked water. Your Spanish must be excellent, as I believe the contractors who did manage to fix the air conditioning were Spanish with very little knowledge of English. I am pleased that you have let me know that 2009 was the hottest summer on record, as I will inform the Spanish met office. Roger is not actually from the East end of London as you infer, but from Bedfordshire and held a very high position within Vauxhall Motors, retiring to Spain 4 years ago. Can you let me know what sort of condition you found the apartment in as you state ‘OK condition’, as it has only been built and furnished in the last 3 years, I would be very disappointed to find that it has not stood up to normal wear and tear. As for the location, it is bang in the hub of the town centre, so not to everyone’s liking, but it does clearly state on the website that it is town centre. I am also sorry that the lift did not work on a few occasions, but the apartment is only on the 1st floor and you state on your booking form that you are all under the age of 40, so I assume it was just a bit inconvenient for you to go up a flights of stairs and, unfortunately communal connection to the main electricity supply is certainly beyond our control. You will see from other reviews that people have been more that satisfied with the apartment both before you and after you.

"The apartment was extremely small and the building had a terrible smell of backed up sewage.
Inside the apartment was ok except for some of the towels were stained and dirty looking. The location was close to shops and restaurants."

Dear Mr Griswold
I am sorry you found the apartment small, but I suppose by Florida USA standards, where you come from, most apartments in Europe are small! But this is a new building, centrally located for all the amenities, restaurants, buses, and trains etc and fully equipped with new, modern and comfortable furniture and fittings throughout. It is because it is so new that we know exactly the state of the towels and linen in the apartment and the towels supplied for your visit were brand new.
Thank you for letting us know about the smell, we will look into this and sort it out, I am only sorry that you did not mention it during your stay as we might have been able to have done something about it then.
Regards,
Susan

| "This property was a great location and the owner was very nice and helpful (and forgiving for our lateness). It was a great size with a large balcony outside and excellent proximity to the beach and eateries!"
