"Dear fellow villa - renters We enjoyed our 2 week holiday in Spain over the Xmas and New Year very much. Our expectations were exceeded overall, the villa and area were excellent value for money and I will be recommending the holiday to friends. Martyn did all he could to make our stay comfortable even going so far as to buy an extra high chair and travel cot for our twin babies and leaving a decorated Christmas tree for us. He gave us great ideas of places to go and visit and coupled with the equally helpful Christabal in Spain (the maintenance man) we were very well looked after indeed. The villa itself was lovely, comfortable and homely, with all the modern appliances we needed and safely gated for our babies. Our elder daughter also loved feeding the chickens and rabbits in the garden and we all tucked into the fresh bread and cakes that were delivered daily. The villa is in a beautiful part of Spain, we really enjoyed the mountains, relaxed way of life and friendly people, and went for many walks around and about in the El Torcal Park and villages. We also explored a lot of Andalusia and got out to day trips to Granada, Cordoba, Seville, Ronda, Marbella, Malaga and more besides. We were lucky with the weather at this time of year too. After a rainy start, it was sunny every day and always at least 15 degrees. Thanks again Martyn for a great trip! Christine, Paul & Family. "

"eventhough the property is a little isolated it just means you are in the real spain.the house is better than the pictures suggest and we loved it.el torcal is fascinating and antequera has the history and the shops.martin's advice on restaurants and the local area were spot on and we hope to go back again."

"Owner very helpful with information before hand via phone/ email, and made sure we felt able to contact if encessary. Very clean and well looked after. Beautiful views and very quiet loaction. Groundsman made his presence known and equally keen to make sure he could be of help. Thanks very much! Water pressure poor but we we were told this before."

"We had a small problem with the house. The water supply was poor in general and the supply of gas for warm water broke regularly during shower. One had to be watching the gas when one was in shower. On one day there were no water and we washed ourselves with the water from the pool, which was luckily full. But, however, these little problems didn't disturb our holiday. Other remarks for other visitors, which didn't bother us: Location is distant from main roads, which make the surrounding very nice and quiet but makes the travelling and seeing other attractions in Andalucia difficult. "

"The property was perfect for our needs. It was tranquil yet had enough going on the keep us happy. The views were breath-taking and even though it was very hot the pool cooled us down. All the amenities were first class and the villa was clean and tidy. Beautiful place."

"really appreciated owner supplying stair gate at last minute, very rural, not really for children under 3 as there were many steps that needed to be negotiated to get to pool and also where sun loungers are situated not gated off so possible accident. Pool fantastic and gardener helpful. Major problem with hot water via showers but coped understand this was due to low water pressure."

"Pleasant, clean, big and convenient villa. Good kitchen equipment, beds are spanish sized (1,90 m is to small for my 1,85 m). The TV reciever (satelite reciever) and showerscreens need maintainance, but in general the villa is wel maintained. Very helpful owner and groundsman."

Owner reply: :
THE VILLA NOW HAS A VERY LARGE ENGLISH SATELITE WITH THE MAJORITY OF ENGLISH CHANNELS AVAILABLE. THE SHOWERS HAVE BOTH BEEN RE CURTAINED AND ARE NOW FINE. THE BEDS ARE SPANISH SIZE, BUT IT IS A SPANISH VILLA! 1.9M IS SUITABLE FOR MOST, I AM 6FT 1", AND THEY ARE FINE. THANK YOU, MARTYN

"The property was very good, everything and more you would expect from a rental in this area of Spain. However the area is very quiet and not much to do, especially if you have children with you. The countryside is beutifull i would recomend it for an elderly couple who would like to see the real Spain."

Owner reply: :
SURPRISED TO HEAR THAT YOU FOUND NOTHING MUCH TO DO?
MOST OF THE VISITORS TO THE VILLA HAVE SMALL CHILDREN AND RE BOOK REGULAR. OUR DAUGHTER HAS BEEN MANY TIMES SINCE SHE WAS TEN WEEKS OLD, SHE IS NOW TWO AND A HALF AND WANTS TO LIVE THERE! (IF ONLY).
THE WOLF PARK AND MINI ZOO, NUMEROUS PARKS, WALKS , THE POOL AND THE FACT YOU CAN TAKE CHILDREN TO ANY BAR/ RESTAURANT, USUALLY KEEP MOST AMUSED.
WE HAVE ALSO HAD BOOKINGS FROM A GROUP OF FOUR 19 YEAR OLDS (GOING BACK SEPT 06)COUPLES WHO ARE NOT ELDERLY (25) AND A HOST OF FAMILIES.
I SUPPOSE EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT......THERE IS ALWAYS BLACKPOOL?

"A good villa overall would suggest the Inforrnation File for guests was a bit more comprehensive and with clearer instructions. Main contact for help in the villa was not very good and faults were not dealt with during the stay. Location was fantastic a very different Spanish holiday away from the high rise buildings along the coast."

Owner reply: :
THE FILE HAS BEEN UPDATED AND THE MAINTENANCE MAN HAS BEEN INFORMED. THERE IS AN ENGLISH CONTACT AT THE VILLA, AND ALSO MY NUMBERS, IF I AM NOT AWARE THAT THERE ARE PROBLEMS, THEN THEY CANNOT BE SORTED OUT.

"What a wonderful week! This holiday was one of the most relaxing and stress-free breaks I've had. The villa is beautiful - both in terms of it's location, and the decor inside. Everything is provided - (including random things like books and CD's). The pool and terrace area are large, and have the sun all day. We ate outside all the time, and were constantly in the pool. For a couple who wanted to unwind and relax, this was ideal. (Although we were very excited when we found the inflatable ball and frisbee in the lounge drawers. We have contributed our 'mini surf board' bouyancy aid that we purchased in Anterquera for the pleasure of future holiday makers!) I can't thank you enough Martyn. You made the whole thing very easy, and we are looking forward to the next time we book."

Owner reply: :
THANKS NICKY, LOOKING FORWARD TO WELCOMING YOU BACK!

"We stayed here for two weeks in July 2005 and really enjoyed staying in rural Spain. The area in which the house is situated is beautiful countryside and the drives to the local towns and restaurants can be quite breathtaking. In the immediate vicinity, Villa Nueva de la Concepcion is a pretty little town with local vacilities like banks, small supermarkets, doctor, pharmacy etc as well as a few bars and restaurants. However, the real attraction is Antequera which is a beautiful, historic town full of attractions as well as facilities such as huge hypermarkets. The house itself was perfect for us as we have a 3 year-old who likes to explore and thinks that he can swim! The pool is fenced, as are the grounds and we felt that he was very safe to explore. He enjoyed the turkey / chickens kept at the back of the house! The house consists of one large living room / diner, good size kitchen, 3 bedrooms (one ensuite), large bathroom. The gardens and the swimming pool receive the sun all day round - some judicious moving of the garden furniture means that you can always find some shade, though. Even in the very hot recent temperatures, the house remained reasonably cool. The house is well looked after by one of the neighbours and the pool is kept clean. The house is situated amongst a few others but is very private. Everyone we met, whether neighbours, restauranteurs, bar tenders etc was extremely friendly and was very patient with our broken Spanish!"

"WE WERE A LITLE APPREHENSIVE, WITH THE VILLA BEING A BIT OUT OF THE WAY, BUT IT IS NOT! WE LOVED IT. I HAVE NEVER SEEN SPAIN LIKE THIS, THE KIDS WERE SO EXCITED AT THE PARK AND THE WALKS, THEY WERE NEARLY AS TIRED AS WE WERE! WE COULD NOT OF ASKED FOR MORE, WE AND OUR FAMILIES WILL BE BACK. THANK YOU MARTYN."

"I CANT BELIEVE THAT PICTURES WOULD MAKE THE PLACE SEEM SO SMALL, ITS HUGE. THE NEIGHBOURING SPANIARDS COULD NOT MAKE US FEEL MORE WELCOME. WE HAD FRESH BREAD EVRY MORNING, EGGS FRUIT/VEG AND THE GROUNDSPEOPLE WERE SO INFORMATIVE AND FRIENDLY. THEY TOOK US TO A BAR WE WOULD NEVER OF FOUND AND I THINK WE HAVE MET FRIENDS FOR LIFE. WE HAVE BOOKED AGAIN TWICE THIS YEAR! YOU CAN ONLY EXPERIENCE SPAIN BY DOING IT THIS WAY. THE VILLA IS SO UNDERSOLD! SUSAN"
