"Have just enjoyed 2 weeks at Casa Roca. Good position, comfortable and the wood burning stove was a real bonus. We stay in villas when on holiday as love the total flexibility. Kitchen could of been a little better equipped with some large casserole dishes and more saucepans and smaller baking trays. Welcome pack as most places is always a bitter disappointment. I know there is most probably a budget but the obligitory sliced ham and cheese Nescafe coffee are a downer on the wonderful produce that could be included. We Brits are not all sliced bread and chips brigade and do appreciate the local fayre!!!!
Watch out for Dudley Dormouse out in garden.A sweet confident little fellow on a mission who thoroughly enjoyed our attention. A lovely island which we would visit again for the levada and moutain walks. The restaurant at Paul de Mer good friendly service but bit expensive. The espada with bananas delish. Our only regret did not get to do the Rabacel walk as weather closed in at end of holiday and we kick ourselves for not doing it sooner."

Points with regard to the casserole dishes, saucepans and baking trays taken on board and provision will be made regarding these items. Also in respect of the welcome pack, points noted, but, as you say, the budget for this provision is very tight. Once again it is very useful to get feedback from our guests to enable us to make the alterations necessary to fulfill our guests expectations.

"Spacious, rural property in hills with average standard of furnishings and kitchen and utility room equipment but let down by lumpy, firm beds. Unfortunately, as the pool was not the heated type, it was too cold for us to use at this time of year, otherwise of good size and quality and the main feature of the garden which was neatly layed out. We would definately consider using this property again but, as above 600 mtrs., would preferably be in mid Summer, when less cloudier."

As far as the comments regarding the beds are concerned, it is very difficult to make provision for individual customer requirements as some people like firm beds, others soft ones or maybe something in between. The mattresses provided are therefore not all of the same firmness in all rooms. In view of the feedback which we have received from this review we have decided to change the firmest mattress in the main double bedroom as our aim is always to listen to customer comments carefully and make the necessary changes to the villa that our customers deem appropriate.
We would encourage all holiday makers who stay at Casa Da Rocha to respond to the review request that they will receive from villa renters after their holiday. It is only by this route that we can respond to the comments received and then take the steps necessary to make the villa as comfortable and enjoyable to stay in as possible.
The weather on the whole of the island of Madeira is changeable given the dramatic terrain. Prazeres is situated in the sunniest part of the island very close to Ponta do Sol (Point of the Sun) and if there is any cloud cover it quickly disperses.

| "The villa is in a great location with good views over the sea from the lounge and all bedrooms. It is very private and not overlooked. The owner has thought of everything to make the villa as comfortable as possible and has succeeded. The villa is well equipped with good quality fittings and kitchen appliances and the outside area is terrific.
Having previously stayed in Funchal and Canico, we were initially a little concerned that the villas location in Prazeres might be too remote. However, we need not have worried. Prazeres is a quiet, friendly village but has several good restaurants within walking distance and a great little zoo/farm in the village if you have children. There are several local access points to the beautiful levadas and walks in the area and the express road systems gives easy access to Funchal and other bigger towns on the island.
We would be delighted make a return trip in the future.

| "The Villas promotional material does not do this wonderful villa justice.
The terrace and pool is south facing and the panoramic view of the sea from the elevated location is spectacular.
The villa is very well equipped and comfortable, my only reservation is that the two double beds have very firm mattresses and the bed we slept in was a little to firm for our liking but this was our only complaint.
The people of the island and especially the people of Prezeres are the most courteous and friendly I have met. The local shop (15 minutes walk) was closed on Sunday but the owner who has a bar adjoined to the shop was only to pleased to allow us to pop in through the bar and get what we needed.
This is a must villa if you want to get of the beaten track and relax."
