| "Upon arrival at the Balaia golf village i was pleasantly surprised, reception were very helpful and we were checked in in no time. We were given our key and when we got to our appartment it was happiness all round, all of the family loved the apartment, clean tidy and perfect for the lovely pool 20 yards away, which had a kiddies pool aswell which my son loved even if the water was a bit on the cold side!!!! The apartment had all we wanted and all in good working order i read some of the previous comments and none of the previous bad comments were found to be of any substance. I would definately recommend this to anyone wanting a quality stay at a good price immaculate grounds and a good if expensive 9 holes of golf, all in all a great stay well done!!!!!!"

| "The property is a 15 min walk from the bars & restraunts which should make it quiet but the busy main road will cause you a problem if you are a light sleeper.
The apartment was as stated it was clean & well maintained but the furnishings could do with a spruce up.
The apartment location right next to the pool is a plus if you have kids & go in the summer.
Overall I would recommend this to my friends but warn them of the busy road."

"Just got back from five lovely days on the Algarve - and I have to say what a lovely time we had in the villa at Balaia Village!
The apartment is really nice and easy to live in and relax in, even with four people. The only downside is that it does need a bit of TLC - there are loads of cracks on the walls and dry rot in the bathroom cupboards, plus the fridge looks old and could do with replacing - but overall it's a lovely little villa in a good location.
For those of you who like places like Albufeira and all the horrible 'Brits abroad' stuff that goes with it (we went there once for a 15-minute stroll, and I could not believe my eyes when I saw two couples sat outside a bar drinking pints, eating fry-ups and watching Ant and Dec on the big screen), you're only a 10-minute drive away. But for those who want to go to Portugal to actually experience the country you're travelling to, then Balaia is an excellent base from which to explore the region.
There are some fabulous restaurants, bars and beaches just a couple minutes' drive away, so do some exploring locally and you won't be disappointed!
I wouldn't say we will be re-booking to go back, but only because we don't tend to go to the same place twice, but I would definitely recommend the villa and the region (not Albufeira though) to anyone..."

Thank you for your feedback which as ever is welcome. To respond though we would like to day that since receiving your feedback we have had the apartment inspected independently and feel that your areas of concern are not warranted.
There is no rot anywhere in the property, the fridge is only 3 years old and in perfect working order and the cracks you mention to the walls are to be expected in any property as they are only hairline and cause no harm. The cracks are to be expected in any property (due to normal movement) and unless decoration is carried out on a monthly basis will always be visible.
We hope that your enjoyment was not diminished and look forward to welcoming you back in the future.

"The property was well furnished and comfortable.It would have been nice to have the linen changed mid week.
The property backed onto the main raod was a little noisey at night with passing traffic but being so near the pool made up for this .
"

| "Outstanding!! We had a brilliant time here. The apartment was clean and well looked after. It was fully equipped to allow us to spend as much time indoors as well as outdoors. The village staff came into clean and change linen on a regular basis and they couldn't do enough for us.
The village staff in general were very helpful and made sure they sent us to the best restaurants and got my husband some discounts on green fees for his beloved golf.
The children had a great time in the heated swimming pool and doing the suggested activities in the local area.
We have already booked to go back later this year and do not hesitate in recommending this place to others."

"good location and friendly resort staff.apartment needed a little tlc as fabrics and rooms were very musty and damp.lounge furniture was uncomfortable to sit on.kitchen cupboards and fridge had not been cleaned from previous guests stay."

Thank you for your review. We are disappointed to hear your comments and have since spoken with the complex staff to find out what went wrong.
It appears that there was a change in cleaning personnel at the time of your stay and the apartment was not cleaned to it's usual high standards. This of course would impact on the possible musty smell although we have today had that checked and cannot smell anything untoward.
As for the furniture we have never had a complaint of it being uncomfortable before so we apologise for this but unfortunately feel this is not something we can rectify considering the lack of negativity from other reviewers.
We would be happy to discuss this with you if you would like to contact us and would like to offer you an unconditional 10% discount of your next stay with us.

| "we found the apartment clean (although we did have an invasion of ants) and it was very well equipped and due to bad weather the tv and dvd were invaluable!! The only disappointment along with the rain was the golf. Not being regular or experienced golfers we weren't equipped and found the prices quite high to play and rent equipment, also my partner was told he could not play unless he had studded shoes but when he took my son out to play he found people wearing all manner of different shoes. Also the pool near to the apartment was freezing cold!! We found that you need to use transport if you want to go into the centre of Albufeira which is very busy and commercialised even in late season. Overall we would say that the apartment is very good and to be recommended it's just unfortunate that our week there was ruined by the weather."

| "This was our first holiday that was not a package deal and we are hooked. The apartment was probably in one of the best positions in the village. The pool virtually adjacent to the apartment was perfect and usually very quiet considering the time of year. The apartment was first class with the description being spot-on. There are a couple of good restuarants within a 10 minute walk and we did venture to the 'strip' a couple of times. The only very minor complaint was the lack of football training (advertised in the village 'what's on guide)by the local staff which left several boys disappointed. I would recommend the apartment to anyone and we will probably return in the very near future!"

| "Thank you for the lovely villa, it was ideal. Right next to the pool, but still peaceful and quiet. The Balaia Golf Village was perfect, it was such a relaxing atmosphere. The accomodation was well presented with the living area having plently of seating area. We made use of the bbq and sat out in the evenings for dinner. It was so handy having two bathrooms and also having the washing machine, especially with our 18mth old girl. The dishwasher also saved time in the kitchen. We will be returning in October! | "Excellent accomodation, everything you could ever need is in the villa for a relaxing holiday. Pool 25 metres away, sun on the patio all day, very quiet, but if you want the nightlife on "The Strip" in Albufeira it's only 4 euros in a taxi or less than 2 euros on the bus (bus stop outside). We will definitely be going back!"

"We have just returned from our second holiday in this apartment. We went back predominantly for the golf this time as we left the kids at home!! The village golf course and staff were excellent and the facilities offered at the clubhouse were well above par!
The apartment is well looked after and has everything we could wish for. We actually didn't leave the village all week and therefore didn't need to hire a car as everything we wanted was within walking distance. What a fantastic relaxing week and we can't wait to go back next year. Thank you."

| "Apartment and location perfect for us and 2 teenagers - 2 bathrooms much appreciated. Very well equipped and clean. Although the rear of the property (and one bedroom) is close to the road, there was only noticeable traffic around 7 - 8am, so no risk of being kept awake. Rear terrace has sun all day, perfect for relaxing with a book and a glass. We hired a car (holidayautos is the best deal) so only 5 mins to beaches or Albufeira. The property description on the website is spot-on and we liked being able to pay by credit card - more convenient and safer than arranging money transfer. The breakage deposit was paid back on time with no problems, and we've already booked to go again."

| "Property in very good condition. Good amenities. Staff on site very helpful. Indoor pool was quite expensive (Approx £20 for family of 4 per session) Fortunately weather was good so swam in sea instead. TV broken on arrival but fixed by next day- Excellent response by Balaia staff. Sun terrace was in shade most of day and the one on the other side of the building overlooked a road so breakfast on the terrace did not happen. Long walk to beach if with young children, fortunately had car so drove less than a mile to Santa Eulalia beach which was very good for young children- shop, beach bar, rock pools and lots of sand, carpark right on beach. Would definitely return. Very Enjoyable- Thank You"

| "We wanted a short break so we could relax and de-stress. This apartment and village was perfect. The apartment was situated only a 3 minute walk from the main amenities of the village so it meant we had our peace and quiet but also access to the amenities when needed.
The apartment was clean, welcoming and fully equipped. The village staff couldn't of been more helpful during our stay. We really couldn't fault this holiday and only wish we had found it years ago.
We are tempted to not recommend this to our friends because the apartment may become fully booked and we might not be able to go back!! Only been back a couple of days and we have booked for next year already."

| "This property is an excellent choice for those wanting an ideal location for a family with a car.
Spotless inside and out!!
Right Beside the pool!!
Loads of shade during hot periods!!
No air con but don't let this put you off as if you go out during the day simply keep the patio doors open and shut the outside vented doors.
If you don't have a car there are loads of places to eat and drink within 15 minutes walk.
The indoor pool was excellent although only for adults and childeren over 4years. (this would have been nice for my 2year old) (You have to pay for this and also wear a rubber hat which makes you smell like a condom!)
If you fancy being energetic you can always try out the gym or play tennins/golf.
Go to the local supermarkets rather than the one on site as there is quite a difference in prices!

| "The apartment was ideal for a family of 2 adults and three young children. It was clean, had all essential equipment including hairdryer and barbeque, and was located near the pool where I could watch children from terrace. I would order a mid week cleaning if I stay again as garbage is not collected otherwise. Also Balaia Golf Village should advise on recycling and establish on site facilities for recycling. Local supermarket is close by, as is the reception where Diane was so helpful. Also the food in Veranah restaurant was very good. We could practice golf on the driving range, decide between 6 swimming pools daily, play volleyball, table tennis or pool and had tennis lessons. Children loved the activities. We hope to go again"
