| "Great apartment. Upon arrival a nice fruit basket and bottled water was provided. Great after a long day of travel to have the food available. I stayed a month. Quiet, clean, comfortable, efficient. Public transportation available right outside. Only a short walk to all the interesting sights in Old City. Management was polite and professional, met all my needs and questions promptly. I travel a lot and this was one of the nicer places Ive stayed."

"Description and pictures of property on internet site is misleading. The property was clean but not well cared for. Some of the tiles in the front living area were broken and coming apart. There is no heat available. We called agent re. heat and he mentioned a space heater but it was never provided.
This apartment is on the 4th floor. There is no elevator. That may not sound like a big problem but the air in Quito is thin. After every trip up those stairs we were winded and tending toward a headache. We have, both of us, spent time in Quito before. We are not novices to this altitude but we would not recommend this property because of the 4th floor location.
Our flight does not arrive in Quito until after 2300 hours so it was quite late on arrival. We were met at the airport and the apartment by the rental agent. We appreciated that.

Is this the same Dolores that sent us this email below soon after she departed......???????
"Hi Mathieu, we are wondering when we will get our security deposit back?? Is there any procedure that we have to follow to do this. Thanks so much for all of your help while we were in Quito. We will certainly highly recommend your services. Dolores Conway"
The fact that the apartment is on the fourth floor is true and may effect people adversley. However, no one has complained before. The fact that there were three broken floor tiles in front of the bathroom is also true and we are going to replace them. I sincerely was embarrased for that and apologized. The fact that Quito can be cool (especially during the rainy season) is also true and we did offer a space heater but Dolores told me she would just use the gas oven for heat. However, no one has complained before. I even inquired the following day when we paid them a visit and she remarked that it was no longer cold.

| "This is an extremely good value. The building was very safe and the apartment was spotless. My only complaint was the communication with the manager to find out exactly how to make contact after hours (we arrived at 9 PM). The security guard didn't know who we were, but tried very hard to help. Everything was taken care of within 15 minutes, but it wasn't a fun experience when you're tired and arriving in a strange new country. We (wife and teenage daughter) stayed a week and grew very comfortable with the neighborhood. I developed a routine of getting up early to buy pastries (.08 each), juice, and the local paper. There are dozens of little food shops nearby, so you can stock up on the essentials very easily. The recommended "places to eat" list in the apartment came in handy. The apartment is also very close to the bus stops, but the cabs, at $3 to $5 (max) a pop are the way to go. Wealthy locals do not live in Colonial Quito--it's a middle and working class community, which suited us fine, but may not be what everyone is comfortable with. We were warned how dangerous it is in Quito, but having lived in NYC in the 1970's, I'd say it was about the same--be alert, don't flash money or jewlery around, and pay attention to where you are and what's going on around you.

Everything was great. We had a few complains which were attended to right away.
I must say the service was great.
Only negative thing is that there was no elevator
which made climbing 4 flights of stairs hard --
since we were not aclimatized to the altitude."
