" I had fallen in love with the property before I even got there but after arriving, I fell in love even more! It just had everything that you would need on a holiday, plus more from toys for the kids, dvds, books, hairdryer, three towels each, floats etc. for using in the pool. They had even left bread, butter, milk, jam, chocolate, juice and a gorgeous bottle of wine in the fridge. It was out of season when we went there at beginning of May but the weather was fantastic (we only had rain on the day we arrived and it was a little overcast the day we were leaving) and we also had exclusive use of the pool (which was literally outside our front door and you could keep an eye on the kids from the kitchen window). The roof terrace was just fantastic as well. There were enough places to eat along the beach, but I would recommend anyone staying here to hire a car, and also have a bit more Spanish knowledge than the three words we all knew, Ola, Gracias and Adios!!! All in all, we had a terrific time and I would highly recommend the apartment. Also, I would like to thank Pam for meeting us on arrival and answering all our questions. Thanks. :)"

"Great place for a relaxed and laid back week in late April. Just like being at home in the property, we particularly liked the cleanliness and standard of furnishings and equipment. The property is well and accurately described and the multi-page guide in the bookrack was grest. We think the twin bedroom should have a mirror - the ladies were continually fighting over the one mirror in the double room! Seems that the mirror in the bathroom didnt quite fit somehow! The bath needs a non-slip mat to save we fatties slipping and grab handle would help also. These are hopefully useful comments, not complaints. We shall return!"

"We had a lovely holiday in your comfy apartment - Que Vista, is appropriately named! The weather was mainly good (to us Brits). We enjoyed the area - which was new to us - although to be expected - it was very, very quiet though at this time of year ... nice walks around the lovely bay and we also enjoyed a few trips around the Murcia region. "

"Good size, well equiped and generally comfortable (apart from the very hard beds)apartment in an excellent front line position on the development with stuning views out to sea. The resort was very quiet whilst we were there which suited us. Days on the nearby gently sloping Isla Plana beach with the warm mediteranean sea were a welcome tonic. For those that follow us we invested in 2 fold up beach chairs (in the box upstairs) to make the experinece more pleasusrable. All thats needed now is one of those corkscrew devices that fits on the bottom of the beach umbrella to stop it blowing away i the soft stand. All in all a very pleasent, relaxing holiday in a lovely area."

"We had the most amazing holiday and want to go back next year! The appartment was clean, well maintained, cosy, child friendly and a joy to stay in. The website said it all. We were well looked after and the pool and the beach were amazing."

"Once again we have been in the house i La Azohia... and its still a wonderfull place.... The house, the key keeper ( Pamela ), beach, pool and every thing was excellent.. 3 weeks are going very fast in this house, you dont have to have anything with you when you arrive, everything is in the house.. so we most comeback in another time... Best regards from Denmark Malou (10), Anette and Tom"

"The property was fine and although we prefer a quiet holiday there weren't enough facilities nearby for us. Also, we did not know until we got there that the area is prone to high winds - and we sure got these towards the end of our stay."

"We had a fabulous time. The Apartment was lovely. The roof terrace is amazing. Wonderful view, especially the sunsets. The cot and buggy were a godsend. The only negative is there is no where to lay down on the terrace. A couple of sun loungers would have been perfect. We would love to visit again. Pam, the keyholder is fantastic and could not do enough for us. Thank you for a great holiday."

"The only thing missing were some sun loungers!"

Review submitted by Karen from Newport (Submitted: 06/12/2007)
"An excellent apartment in a great position on the front of the development so the views are tremendous. Well equipped (bar egg cups and substanial sun loungers) well maintained and well stocked with information and entertainment! Superb resort for relaxing or being active and a stunning location! Look forward to returning again. Pam, the key holder is a gem and nothing is too much trouble."

Review submitted by Jonathan from Barnstaple (Submitted: 04/09/2007)
"The only negative thing about our holiday was that our car was damaged while parked in the carpark next to the apartments. It was parked to the left of the buildings on the sloping part of the carparking area. It was damaged by an out of control wheelie bin which came down the hill in the wind because the bin men had not secured it properly with the brakes! It was an unusual but avoidable accident and cost us £200 in repairs! I understand that this had happened before to other cars. I suggest future guests are warned not to park their cars where we did but park in front of the apartment."

"Thank you for the most extraordinary holiday experience. The apartment is beautiful with all mod cons, and very clean too. We were blessed with fantastic weather and fantastic views. The whole holiday was wonderful from start to finish and I will definately go back in the future. The only down side for us was the lack of sun loungers, laying on the floor was very hard and very hot and the provision of a couple of these items would definately have added to our experience. Adious until the next time!"

Review submitted by Andy from Southampton (Submitted: 05/07/2007)
"Having read the reviews already on the website, we were confident that we had made a good choice, and we weren't disappointed. The apartment itself is fantastic, especially for just the two of us, and the view from the roof terrace is every bit as good as others have mentioned, if not better. Sunsets were wonderful, and sitting up there drinking wine in the evenings was a regular occurrence. The surrounding apartments were not busy at all, but those we met who live there were very friendly, especially Pamela the keyholder, who was most helpful. The Pines Bar and Grill on site is ideal for a quick bite to eat or a generously sized drink in the evening! Some works around the apartment complex meant a bit of noise, often first thing in the morning, due to pipe laying for other developments further up the hill, but this was isolated and should not reflect on the apartment at all. The welcome pack and information folder were excellent, although the chocolate didn't last long!! All in all, the apartment was excellent value for money and we intend to return in the future! One minor point for the owners... there is a lot of roadworks going on in the area, so some of the road and junction numbers on the directions have changed slightly. In fact, if anything, it makes them less complicated now! We flew into Alicante, and the E-15 / A-7 into Murcia, then turns into the A30 towards Cartegena, without having to leave the road at all, before you then leave that further down at the Santa Ana / Los Dolores exit. Hope that is useful!"

Review submitted by Sally from Rickmansworth (Submitted: 07/06/2007)
"We thought the apartment was lovely and very comfortable to stay in with every home comfort and convenience. The welcome pack of bread, milk, wine and chocolate was extremely thoughtful and very much appreciated. The fact that the pool is so close is a real bonus and meant extra relaxation for us as we could hear and see the children from the apartment and the roof terrace was sensational to sit and chill out! We found the local beach too stony so used the car more than we would have wished to go further afield and also to restaurants as none of the local ones recommended were open - we think the season hadn't started yet. Apart from that we had a very enjoyable holiday and felt the apartment was good value for money and very well managed."

"This is our second visit to this apartment and both times the property was presented to a high standard with comprehensive facilities. The apartment has a great situation with views that spread across the width of the bay making the stay here an even greater pleasure. The development has never been crowded, even during our visit in the summer. The development and facilities are relatively new and as result everything is well maintained and well presented. We have enjoyed both our visits and will probably return again."

Review submitted by Clare & friends from Que Vista, La Azohia, Costa Calida (Submitted: 20/06/2006)
"The apartment was very tastefully decorated, extremely well-equipped (including a widescreen TV with home cinema system with surround sound, even swimming towels and snorkels!) and beautifully clean with a lovely balcony and roof terrace commanding spectacular views of the sea. We loved it! There was a very helpful information folder in the apartment giving details of the area including local history, where to buy food, bus times, great restaurants and things to do and sights to see: everything to help you to get the most out of your holiday, whether you wanted to explore, be physically active or simply relax. We chose to simply relax, having just finished our finals and found it an ideal place to do so, enjoying sunbathing on the balcony, strolling along the palm tree-lined seafront, swimming in the sea, picnicking on the beach, sampling local restaurant cuisine (the fish is excellent) or our own leisurely dinners on the roof terrace of the apartment looking out at the clean line of the horizon between sky and sea. We would definitely recommend hiring a car as it makes getting from the airport to the apartment easy and enables you to travel around and visit places of interest in the area, if you like to do that sort of thing, e.g. the outdoor Sunday market in the nearby port of Mazarron, the beautiful beaches of Volnuevo, Cartagena etc. The apartment was easy to book and everything met, if not exceeded, our expectations. I would have no hesitation in recommending it to my friends."

"1. capacity water-boiler not fit for > 1.5 persons 2. canvas on (deck-)chairs shows wear and tear (some chairs are actually torn); might be useful to have a little shed on the roof-terrace to stow items that are sensitive to sunshine and rain 3. a light on the roof-terrace might be helpful, especially when one wants to bbq later in the evening"

Owner reply: :
Marcel,
Funnily enough we were out in La Azohia when you wrote this review, and nearly all of these were items we were planning on dealing with. The boiler has now been upgraded to a larger one and the chairs have been changed to better quality ones (these were all planned prior to your visit).

"We had a wonderful week and definitely hope to go back again - maybe when it's a little warmer but even so we've been in shorts and T-shirts most of the time in mid April and it was a lot warmer than the UK. Highlight was that we were there in Semana Santa - Holy Week - and have seen the most amazing processions ever. A 3 hour long night-time one in Cartegena on Wednesday and a 2 hour lunchtime one on Easter Sunday. These processions happens every day for 10 days in Cartegena. There were also smaller ones in the local towns. Other highlights were the 2 enormous guns at Cabo Tinoso - now unused by the military but one is able to wander all around both inside and out (take a torch). The men in my family (husband and 2 teenage boys) loved it while I adored the views of the bay - stunning. Our boys also enjoyed swimming off La Azohia beach and again near Calblanque (best beach ever, beautiful sand and sandhills - it was the one south of Calblanque - get to it down dirt roads and finally a walk over boardwalks) and in Mar Menor (shallow lagoon nearby). Sitting relaxing on the roof terrace and balcony of the apartment was lovely - wonderful views. The apartment was very well equipped - everything you could want. And very friendly neighbours too. There were 2 huge cranes on the land behind the apartment complex working during the week but they were in the distance and didn't disturb us. There is a lot of building going on in the whole wider area but on the flip side it is still very Spanish with no big commerical development and only low rise buildings. The complex's swimming pool isn't yet open - delay due to Spanish paperwork we understand from the neighbour. But the sea's up the road so that was no problem! It'll be lovely when it is open as it's on the apartment's doorstep. We'll be back soon we hope! Thank you to Tony and Kate and for all your and helpful friendly communications. "

"Unfortunately there is still building work going on around the property - which effected us in the mornings (7:30 weekday starts), debri left around the communal areas was dangerous and the fact that the swimming pools were not filled was disappointing for the children. The apratment itself was fantastic with plenty of facilities."

"A lovely area and fantastic beaches. The flat is well kept and as described. Everything that you need for a holiday is there. La Azohia is a lovely little place, and all amenities are in the Port of Mazarron down the road. The roof terrace is very good and the whole place was child friendly. There was still building work going on opposite, but if you are up early with kids like us it does not disturb. The kids only disappointment was that the pool was still not open, but I think the sea was warmer anyway! A great place for a holiday, and as one past reviewer said, when all complete and mature this will be an excellent resort and apartment."

"I have rated this property as if it were on a finished site - unfortunately the complex as a whole is still a bit of a building site but the actual apartment we stayed in was really good and I am sure when the building works are completed it will be excellent."

"Just returned from 10 days in La Azohia and had a wonderful time.

Our stay at Que Vista was faultless. The apartment was spotless, very comfortable and well equipped. The views of Mazarron Bay from the roof terrace are something special. The correspondence from Tony and Katy was first class and I felt they provided a good honest service.

The immediate area is very quiet and laid back. Mazarron and the surrounding region itself seems like a place where a lot of Spaniards go on vacation. This is good as there was a refreshing lack of pubs and restaurants displaying pictures of full English breakfasts and Sunday roasts!!! The beaches at Mazarron are also worth visiting. They are very clean and the water is clear and shallow. The beach at San Gines is also nice.

If you're after the tourist spots head towards the northern part of Mar Menor. I think the southern part is nicer and the water is excellent for swimming. La Manga is worth a visit although there does seem to be a lot of building work going on.

Highlights from the holiday was a visit to the coastal defences at Cabo Tinoso...a fascinating experience. You'll need a car to get there but the views of the bay are truly breathtaking.

Cartagena is a cool place to go in the evening. Walk up to the Castille and view the city in all it's 360 degree glory. It's about 3 Euros to get in. Tight-fisted Scottish people beware...the lift to the top is 1 Euro each way so be prepared to bring your hiking shoes like I did. You'll get to meet the peacocks on the way up!!!

Murcia itself was interesting but I would avoid during daytime as the temperature topped 38 degrees and I think it was the first time I was happy to accompany my wife into the air conditioned shops in order to cool down.

The village of Mula is also worth a visit. It's about an hour's drive and if you drive up to the Castille you'll be offered a wonderful view of the village below.

All in, this was a great holiday and thoroughly recommended to families and couples alike.

Alan & Kerry"
