On arrival at the property, myself and family were pleased that the villa was safely enclosed as we had 4 young children.
The villa was very adequate for our needs, had everything we wanted and was clean. The pool was a great size for the children and very well maintained.
We were left plenty of 2 euro coins for the electricitiy, which was plenty enough for our weeks stay. The air-con only used on an evening before bed. Plenty of bath towels were provided.
The Plaza was within good walking distance (10/15 min) with many bars and great restaurants (the Argentinian grill, where I experienced the best fillet steak ever!!), and although the beach was not within walking distance, the local bus service was handy or a mini-bus taxi was value for money! (as we did not hire cars).
There are plenty of supermarkets (if you dont go on a Sunday!) reached by bus or taxi which sell lovely fresh fish/fruit/veg, ideal fo a BBQ at the villa.
My family and I enjoyed a wonderful holiday here and would definately recommend this villa and area for a relaxing holiday. We didnt want to leave so soon! Thanks :)

The villa was lovely and very well set out for two families. It was clean, tidy and and had everything we needed. The villa is within walking distance of a number of shops and bars. Mark and Joy who look after the villa were great and very helpful. The electric was rather expensive as we had to pay another 20 euros on top of the initial 50 euros included in the price and we only used the air conditioning on a couple of occassions and for no longer than 20 minutes each time. The transfer company recommended by the owner was brilliant. Overall we had a very enjoyable relaxing holiday.

the villa exceeded all expectations. very clean and everything we needed for our weeks stay.was very nice to have our welcome pack.there was a party of 9 adults and we all had more than enough room to move around without getting under one anothers feet. we all found it a peaceful and pleasant stay. a few local shops bars and restaurants was only a short walk away and they are very friendly and helpful people. i would highly recomend this to anyone looking for a quiet relaxing holiday.

A well equipped villa located a bit away from the hubub of Villamatin. A car would help as Taxis are expensive. Overall though great value for money.

We have just reutrned from a week in the villa, our party consisted of 8 adults and 3 toddlers, so we managed sleeping arrangements without having to use sofa bed. Villa is very nice, kitchen could be a bit better designed, trying to make meals for everyone was a bit stressful in the small area around fridge/sink/cooker etc.
The weather was not too good for first few days so were unable to use the pool (apart from dipping feet in briefly)m by Sunday weather had picked up and spent last few days lounging beside the pool. The caretakers - Joy and Mark - were very helpful for the duration of our stay.. Despite last review before ours, the pool is not in a totally closed off area, could ideally do with a small gate putting across the opening.
Again the only concern was the electric, £40 was supplied on arrival and we used another £20 -24, we neve once used the air con or heating, we used blankets at night whilst sitting around, we used the washer once.
Overall we were pleased with the villa and would possibly book again in the future.
Thank you Peter,Joy & Mark.

This is a very good value villa - you get lots of space and many additional features for your money. The quality of some of the fixtures and fittings is not as high as you would probably have at home - the odd tap not working, squeaky bed etc - but this didnt detract from the fact this is a very comfortable villa.
Pros:
- Clean, spacious villa
- Good sound insulation between the first and ground floors
- Beautiful pool, safe for children as no direct access from inside, its in a separate garden area
- Extras such as DVD player, CD player and films/music/books all provided
Cons:
- Bit of a damp problem on the ground floor
- Beds - low quality mattresses and frames, and headboards not fixed. Noisy and uncomfortable
- TV - one sat box means downstairs have to watch whatever upstairs is watching
- Pool not heated so can be very cold
- Could be expensive on electric in summer - we used an extra 20 euros in electric and didnt have any air con on
- Location was good for us (close to relatives) but is a considerable walk from the Villa Martin golf course and piazza

We were a party of 9 adults and 1 infant. The layout of the villa was perfect for our party as it offered different living areas as well as outside space. It was well equipped and very comfortable. The keyholders were friendly and meeting them we easy as they live across the road!
We were concerned about the pool as it appeared murky and we were told that it had not been cleaned for our arrival...we did this oursleves and did not see the pool man until the day we were leaving!
Our only other concern was the cost of the electricity which appeared to be very high...we did not use the air con, used the washing machine a couple of times and hardly had the TV on, however the meter used 76 euros during our stay which does appear to be a bit high especially as we were out every evening and for the final 4 days there were only 7 of us staying!
Overall, a great location, lovely comfortable spacious villa which is also very secluded!
Owner reply:
Just to add that the reveiwer put €16 in the electric meter not €76. €40 is put in the meter by us and they put in €16 totalling €56!. They also didnt mention that the pool was cloudy as there had been torrential rain for days before they arrived and it takes a few days for the pump to filter all the water through.

Beautiful villa, secluded and private with own pool. Very high standard of decor and furnishings throughout. Close to local amenities and only a short drive to the beach.
Photos don't do it justice in terms of its size and space. Excellent value for money considering high standard of accommodation and size.
Went for a short break with mates but will be returning next year with the family. Its perfect for all types of holidaymakers.

Very impressed with the villa, both inside and out. Our party of seven loved how spacious it was, it gave us privacy if wanted and we liked having a choice of sun bathing areas. The outside grounds are very private and dont feel overlooked by anyone, and we were surprised how quiet the surrounding area seemed considering we went at the end of June. Local area did have a nice selec tion of restaurants. We would have struggled without a car and those sleeping downstairs struggled to sleep without air con. Overall would have been quite happy to have spent another week there.

We have just returned, from our 10 day Golf tour ( 4 days ago!) and the Villa is everything it seems and more.
What you dont see is the 3 twin rooms catered by 2 bathrooms, the downstairs Double room with en-suite & Jacuzzi, and how spacious upstairs actually is and the view it affords.
The Apartment & Area were exactly what we required and laughed and drank out I think we all agree we would be back in a heartbeat.. Ideal for all the "local" courses, you also have Bars ( we used the Priory - A LOT!) and the local Indian ( superb ) with various small shops etc.. The main supermarket is 5 mins by car.
If you want what you see in the pic's go for it.
Only downsides, in April the Pool was "BALTIC"... except when we had too much Sun, or too much to drink !...
and the Electricity is a coin meter ( 2 euro coins ).
You won't be dissapointed. If you don't use it.. we will !

Twelve of us stayed in this villa and we had a lovely stay. The only thing that let it down was that we booked our holiday BEFORE the owner installed the coin operated electricity meter but we still had to pay it, and it literally eats the 2 Euro coins that you put in! We were really cold but couldnt put the heating on for fear of how much it would cost. It had 20 Euros on already, but we had to put around 50 Euros in extra for just one week which is very excessive when you consider that we rarely had the tv on, and only used the washing machine once. It was very cold at night but we couldnt use the heaters because of the cost. The only other electricity we used was the oven and cooker so I do think that this is very expensive and the guide price on here of 20 Euros a week is a bit misleading, particularly for the summer months when people will be wanting air conditioning on. The key holder hinted that there is a debt on the meter from a previous high electricity bill. Apart from this I cannot fault it, except for some holes in the glass in the patio area, which my baby niece decided was very intriguing and we kept having to stop her putting her fingers into them. The villa is beautiful, and the area is great, we had an amazing time. This review is just to make people aware of the fact that they will most likely need an extra 50 Euros a week for the electricity meter so please just be aware.
Owner reply:
Just to clear up a few points.Firstly I wasnt aware of the issue with the crack in the glass but once I was made aware the glass was replaced immediately.Regarding the electric meter, this customer stayed in my villa the week after I had the meter installed and I wasnt sure how much it would cost for the week as they were the first people to put any money in it.This issue has also now been rectified and the meter will not cost that much as long as you are carefull with what you use.I did email the customer before she went and explained to her that it was still winter and Spanish villas are built to be cold and therefore please dont expect to be snug and warm in the evening as you would be in England.Remember they have no carpets,no central heating,no insulation and cold tiled floors and are built to keep you cool. Also you must bare in mind that this is a very big house and with 12 people staying there and the water on an electric boiler and electric heaters the amount of €46 for 12 people for the week in winter months comes to less than 50 pence per person per day.I have also had the fire place made ready for an open fire so next winter the cold shouldnt be a problem.Regarding the meter carrying a previous debt that is completely untrue.I had the meter installed as people were just leaving the air con and heaters on non stop because they didnt have to pay for the electric and I had the meter installed after I got a £412 electric bill for just 1 months electric ! Please also note that a lot villas charge an extra £70-£120 a week for air con and I never charge anything just the electricity you are using.

Large well presented villa with plenty of good outdoor space - everything you need is there.
A car is necessary for daily travel to shops and beaches although there are lots of competitively priced restaurants nearby. We had a lovely stay.

highly recomended
this is a great place to get away to, it has the advantage of having its own private pool, so its all yours. the house is a very comfortable size with its own kitchen and facilities. the views are great from the balcony and its peacefull at night, but still has all the food and entertainment in the bars just down the road if you want it.or get a car hire(recomended) and go further into town, there are many resturants, bars and beaches to choose from, all are very nice,(we tried many of them during our stay)
my family and friends enjoyed our time here and will return again.

Overall we had a fantastic holiday, the villa and area met all expectations. There was plenty of space, there was 9 of us in total. We were well looked after during the stay and the keyholders were always happy to help with giving advice. The only thing that good be better is to have air conditioning down the stairs as in August it was far to hot to sleep without out.
Overall excellent holiday.

The villa itself is excellent, I cannot fault it at all. Everything is clean and well appointed and it offers considerable space both inside and out for large groups (ours was a party of 10). The pool and outside space is beautiful and well maintained and the living space inside is beautifully decorated and offers every amienity you could ask for. We found the caretakers of the property were helpful and considerate (despite the fact we arrived at an ungodly hour in the morning!) and were more than happy to offer local knowledge to make our stay more enjoyable.
However, be aware, the area the villa is situated in is quiet and residential and not for those seeking a truely "authentic" Spanish experience, or one for those seeking a young-up-all-night nightlife. There are several pubs, cafes and resturants in the area which cater for English tastes but you will need to have a car and travel futher afield before you see any native spanish speakers.
On the whole, if you are seeking a great villa in which to chill out and enjoy a peaceful sunny beach holiday, then I can thoroughly reccomend this place (providing they arent digging up the road outside the villa at 7am in the morning as they were when we went!)
